This is a PSA, I am posting here for everyone who might not be on our email list.
We have discontinued Bing Cherry flavor and are offering a replacement for customers. This natural flavor contains capric triglyceride in its non-flavor solvent system, making it both PG and oil soluble.
This is the only flavor we sell which contains capric triglyceride. We have decided to no longer include it in our flavoring line made for vapor because of customer feedback.
As a flavoring brand dedicated to DIY and craft ejuice, we want our company to be transparent and responsive to customer concerns.
We stand by our satisfaction guarantee with every flavor, so if you have a bottle of Bing Cherry that you will no longer use, please send us the old label or email us your previous order number. We will ship you a set of replacements free of charge.
Can someone shed light on what capric triglyceride does when vaporized?
Also, good on you Flavorah for being transparent.
Briefly going through the literature, I don't see the issue. I hope someone with concerns pops in to explain.
I haven't used my sample yet, but it smells delicious!
Here's the wiki:

and as for using it in e-liquid
Found this comment > > Capric triglyceride is one of the lipids from coconut oil. I would strongly advise against vaping that one as fats are known to cause lipid pneumonia when inhaled. > Triacetin is a solvent, used when flavour chemicals won't dissolve into ethanol or glycols at high enough amounts. It is not toxic in short term inhalation.

That thread also has some more information such as
> Apparently it will also crack plastic tanks, so don't put it in plastic tanks.

Thanks, I suspected concerns similar to those. I think it's great Flavorah is being responsive to consumer concerns, but. . ..
It's not lipids themselves that cause "lipid pneumonia," but lipid membrane sacs containing, for example, essential oils in the structure of a plant. Some food flavorings are made by cold pressing "essential oils" from plant material, where the process is gentle enough to allow the lipid sacs to maintain their form, while another process such as distillation might produce a pure essential oil free from lipid sacs.
Lipid membrane sacs can be large enough to present a risk of obstructing alveoli in the lungs, and their chemical structure makes it difficult for the body to remove, resulting in lipid pneumonia. The individual lipids themselves that make up the sacs are tiny molecules, and very unlikely to obstruct anything, as they can easily be absorbed by individual cells.
By way of analogy, an ounce of water inhaled over time as fog (dispersed, individual molecules,) or on the skin as rain (concentrated, individual molecules,)is nothing to be concerned about, but as a hailstone (concentrated, structured molecules,) to the noggin, it's a heck of a wake-up call.
This bit on essential oils and lipids used to be in the sidebar at the height of the scare. Not directly related, but perhaps of interest.
Your wiki link, by the way, is for the acid component of capric triglyceride. The molecule itself is three glycerol (VG) molecules with one caprylic acid molecule.
Capric triglyceride may well be insta-cancer death (although the MSDS/MSDS I'm looking at neglect to mention anything other than irritation with the pure chemical,) but from what I'm reading, it's unlikely to be a lipid pneumonia risk. It does appear you need to report spills in excess of 10,000 lbs.
Got the notification and haven't actually had a chance to try my Bing cherry yet. I can't seem to get to your contact page /u/flavorah where should we email our previous order number to?
This is the where the contact link resolves to http://acucontrol.ru/flayer?12 but if I switch the link from https://www.flavorah.com/contact-us/ to http://www.flavorah.com/contact-us/ I get a wholesale page with addess details and no email address....
