Just wondering. I saw a 15 ml of a concentrate listed for $15 somewhere yesterday... It's absurd
Generally the ones that are that much are also SUPER concentrated and will last forever. Rich cinnamon is like a 1-2 drops per 30ml kinda flavor, or even 10% dilution at sub 1% usage.
So the initial investment is high, but it will last forever.
I've been thinking about this- Flavour west are laughing at us. They probably start with a concentrate that we can use at 1%, then dilute it 15x times for fifteen times the profits and increase the usage rate.
Sometimes those lower %s are easier to work with though and it opens the door for people to sample them at a reasonable price... I would love to pick up the whole flavorah line to try them out but I, personally, can't at those prices
This is just me and I'm still very new and mainly picking flavors based off of highly regarded recipies/mixers I see. Maybe instead of picking up the whole line, maybe just pick them up gradually as you need them/want to try recipies that use them.
Their Bing cherry is super concentrated. I mixed 2% in a 30ml bottle and it's so strong I can't vape it.
They just sent out an email about this flavor.
"We have discontinued Bing Cherry flavor and are offering a replacement for customers. This natural flavor contains capric triglyceride in its non-flavor solvent system, making it both PG and oil soluble.
This is the only flavor we sell which contains capric triglyceride. We have decided to no longer include it in our flavoring line made for vapor because of customer feedback.
As a flavoring brand dedicated to DIY and craft ejuice, we want our company to be transparent and responsive to customer concerns.
We stand by our satisfaction guarantee with every flavor, so if you have a bottle of Bing Cherry that you will no longer use, please send us the old label or email us your previous order number. We will ship you a set of replacements free of charge"
I have heard this but I've also heard that some are weak. That cinnamon tho, I keep hearing about it. I'll definitely need to pick some up
There are some flavors that are a bit weak, but none of the $10+ flavors are weak. Most are in the area of super-concentrated
Even their wholesale prices don't make them a frugal choice. They do make some flavors that are worth the premium. I have most of their catalog and have only come across one flavor that was completely worthless.
What flavor was that, if you don't mind me asking?
Crunch Cereal. Not to be confused with Cinnamon Crunch, which is fantastic. I tried Crunch Cereal from 1-4% standalone after trying Wayne's Fried Ice Cream (which I hated) and unless I just got a bad bottle, that flavor turns anything you mix it with into a putrid mess.
Have you tried their blueberry? I was so hopeful until it arrived. Smells like pure methyl anthranylate :(
Because it's their way of marketing themselves as "premium", which is why they insisted on MAP pricing and won't let re-sellers offer it for less.
They like to say how "super concentrated" it is, but most of their flavors are less concentrated and weaker than Inawera and Flavourart.
And this is why I've decided not to use them anymore. I've purchased a couple dozen of their flavors and none of them, to me, are all that great and certainly not better than other vendors. Not saying they're bad flavors but not worth going out of my way for or paying more $ for.
As always, YMMV
CONCENTRATE|PRICE PER ML| |:--|:--| FW|$0.16| LB|$0.16| LA|$0.17| TFA|$0.17| CAP|$0.19| MBV|$0.20| HS|$0.27| INW|$0.31| FA|$0.32| FLV|$0.38| NN|$0.80| MF(LOTUS) |$2.00|
- This info is from my purchases which consist almost entirely of 10, 13, 15 and 30 ml sized bottles.
- FLV is priced only slightly higher than INW and FA.
- MF (LOTUS on ECX) is most expensive by far.
Well flavorah vanilla custard at 2%, 5% and 10% is bland and weak. I had to up it to 15% for a decent flavour. Ill not be buying flavorah custard again.
Than you're doing it wrong
Id be more than greatful for some advice as im really struggling with it. So far everyone raves about flav custard but for me cap v1 custard seems much better.
I don't have much experience with flv. Only flavor I have from them is rich cinnamon. That is one hell of a banging flavor. Only cinnamon iv found that smells exactly like opening a jar of cinnamon spice. And as far as potency, 1 drop in a 15ml is enough.
If you sit and do the math at what %'s used for companies like FA,INW, or Flavorah(sure medicine flower also) and compare it to the $ to ml used price of say TFA/FW the prices are actually on par and not to far from eachother. Don't get me wrong some flavors are still expensive compared to their cheaper counterparts but for the most part they are either on par or even cheaper than their cheaper counterparts.
You do realize anyone can setup a wholesale account for free at TFA and get 4oz of their entire line for 4-13 bucks. Sorry but TFA is cheaper period no matter how you dice it. You would have to be using well under 1% flavoring with all your flavorah flavors to be that cheap, which just isn't the case with most of their flavors.
That being said flavorah has some nice flavors for sure but don't try and act like they are cheaper than most because of "super concentrated" bs.
How many people are ordering wholesale from TFA let alone 4oz bottles? Setting up a wholesale flavorah account is also something anyone can do and for free. Getting an EIN is simple signing up for it online @some .gov site.
(Using strawberry for the example @100ml mixes since it makes things simple) So for the sake of the argument each 4oz bottle from each wholesaler costs TFA $.04ml to FLV $.17ml. Now for the recipe which im just doing something simple and using ELR average single percentages which has TFA at 8% and FLV at 3%. costs you .32 cents to mix TFA @8% and FLV .51cents @3%. So yea at this point FLV does cost more.
Now lets go to gremlindiy since a website such as this will be used by the majority of people buying flavorings. Both bottles being 15ml bottles. TFA $.16 per ml compared to FLV $.37. At the same percentages as previously stated TFA 8% and FLV 3%. Tfa now costs 1.28 and FLV is 1.11. So this does make Flavorah cheaper.
Was I saying all of flavorah's flavorings are cheaper? No I wasn't but the price difference isn't as large as it seems when you see the pricing compared to % used. Which tends to be the case for lots of "expensive" flavorings. Hey if buying flavorah doesn't sit well with someone by all means don't buy it. There is nothing wrong with TFA and there are a handful of TFA flavorings I can't live without.
Super concentrated, and excellent quality. For many flavors, their version is my favorite. Rich cinnamon, vanilla custard, mango, boysenberry, butterscotch, and guava come to mind.
Flv rich cinnamon is my holy grail of cinnamon. Tried many a cinnamon and this is the true, dry, non-red hots, not candy in any way, cinnamon.
Also have not tried anything else from them because price but if I had the extra dough I definitely would buy more.
My next order I plan to grab some of their cereal stuff and maybe their cream to compare to other vendors.
Cinnamon hasn't really appealed to me in the past but people mention their cinnamon as soon as the brand is brought up. Definitely seems like one of their signature flavorings. Let me know how that goes! I just got my stupidly huge flavoring order in yesterday and am excited to try the FLV concentrates I picked up
Crazy. I just ordered two flavors for about $5-$6 each and even that was a hard pill to swallow. I'm surprised they don't get more questions from people around here about their pricing.
Which flavors?
Butterscotch, because it was the last butterscotch I was missing and I'm working on a recipe/review so I wanted to test everything on the market, and yakima hops because I love a good IPA and it's the only hops flavor I've seen
Don't know if it's just me, but has anyone else noticed this thread has somebody down voting everything? Regular questions and discussion is being down voted.
ok, silly noob question but how can you tell if something has been downvoted?
RES and assorted browser add ins. Also by a consistent pattern of everything that isn't at 10+ being at 0 or negative karma throughout the thread. Seems like Flavorah doesn't like a thread questioning their pricing. Or a fanboy is on a PMS trip.
I know, but that's why you hit up gremlindiy.com - He's the man and works directly with them trying to help us out and is the only place I think that offers smaller ml's that's cheaper. I refuse to buy any FLV and INW is in the same boat. I did break down and get INW's Mixed Mint though because they do have some top of the line stuff and needed that to create my first true recipe.
Just got to Wizardlabs. They have a very large stock of flavoring from just about everyone. $1.49 for an 8ml tube, which would make a 30ml bottle equal to 26.5% flavoring if you want it that way. I mix a single 8ml tube @ 6.7% for almost all of my single flavor recipes (that's a 120ml bottle worth for me).
SO MANY NUMHBERS
good timing on the post, im sure flavorah saw it since they posted in the sub too today haha
ha, just noticed that. If they could give some sort of reason, like an actual reason, it wouldn't piss me off so much but it just seems like it's one of those brands that are arbitrarily expensive. so much of that in vaping. hopefully they'll see the massive response from people and that everyone is feeling the same way
