That is all. Just a heads up for when I go off the rails.
Effortless shit post.
R e p o r t e d
Is it bad that I kind of want to post asking about how to store nic and/or flavors just to see what kirkt "off the rails" looks like?
Lol. Come on over to ECR, where the entire sub is the following:
-
where can i buy cheap juice
-
what is the best tank
-
what is the best RDA
-
what about these batteries?
-
how do i vape?
6) is this build going to cause my mod to blow up in my face?
7) giveaways
8) my RDA/RTA/WTF/BBQ is leaking, help!
9) Flavor reviews(which make me laugh b/c the juice is 99% sweetner)
edit: fucking formatting
> 5) how do i vape?
The biggest thing when I was starting out with my pen mod wasn't necessarily how to vape, but figuring out which end of it went into my ass before I pressed the button.
Funny thing...I actually picture this every time somebody says "atm" in a post. Such as, "I think I need a better tank. I'm vaping on a Crown atm." And all I can think is, "ya know, it would probably taste just fine if you keep it outta yer ass."
Exactly what we are fighting to not become.
You aren't likely to win that battle. This has happened here before, and countless times elsewhere. Frankly, I don't understand why it genuinely frustrates some people to see repetitive questions. Every explanation that comes up whenever this old horse is kicked boils down to someone's inherently ideological vision of what "community" is supposed to be. Why not go make a circlejerk sub so you can complain in private, rather than risk appearing so intolerant?
Don't forget
-
Shoutout to vape shop
-
Shoutout to liquid maker

Shoutout to vape shop
A shill making a shout-out to some random company no ones ever heard of for doing the most basic thing when owning a online shop.
There are times when the shoutouts on DIY get a bit much. Someone wrote "Vendor sent me wrong strength nic base, then sent me the right one after I emailed them. DEY AWESUM. SHAWDOUT"
They did exactly what they are expected to do. And, if I recall correctly, they initially sent the guy a HIGHER strength nic than what he ordered, so it was a possibly dangerous mistake they made.
SHOUTOUT
To be more discreet with my reddit browsing at work I set up an .rss feed in Outlook.
I get every new post in a folder in my inbox for this sub.
Here is what I've noticed over the last month.
- I have 36mg/ml nic and I want to mix at a strength of 6mg but I have to add 15% TFA Pear to my juice, how much nic should I add?
- How do you store nic/flavors(as OP stated)
- 11ty billion single flavor testing/review threads(these are okay)
- Real low effort posts from people new to the community asking things like what should they buy for their first purchase, which flavors, which company to buy nic from etc.
- Steeping with a GD ultrasonic machine and questions relating to it.
Kill me.
edit: and don't get me started on the .rss feed for /r/electronic_cigarette smh
I like the single flavour reviews.
I think they add value (especially as they are being gathered into a wiki page), and its original content from people doing the work.
Now we just need a bot that takes the flavour notes from ELR, and posts them as flavour reviews for karma. Sorta like the repost/top-comment bots that are plaguing reddit atm.
I suggest you super elite DIYers who hate newb posts to create your own secret-ish sub where you guys can avoid all the random people who come here specifically to ask those simple questions.
There's 3 kinds of redditers, ones that part frequently and use it as a means to communicate a lot, there's people who only come to read, and theres a lot of people who come just to ask one question then never come back. The latter doesn't search, they just want to have their specific question answered and move on... And they come to the most obvious subs. This sub is the most obvious sub for beginner DIY...
So make one that you elites can go and do your serious talking and only come here to help when you feel like it, and draft other upcoming elites into your special sub, by private message only... So as to keep the beginners away.... Wouldn't be too difficult, you serious redditers know each other by your screen names anyway..... Many of us don't even pay attention to screen names when we are here.
I already blew that gasket, so I bought a pack of them. Want me to send you a few?
Huh, Carolina Xtraction said they don't recommend freezing their nicotine, that putting it in the refrigerator is best.
So, ... what is the best way to store nicotine? :)
I recommend the same place this watch was kept hidden. Use unicorn bottles to minimize discomfort.
Open and inside of a salmon
For best results, bradán feasa.
Add an official rule:
Rule #12: No answering nic storage questions. Only acceptable reply is "read the sidebar or use the search function".
My take on it is this.. we want to encourage new mixers but not baby them. I usually try to politely explain that they should use sidebar and search and also point them to the new mixers thread. No need to be rude about it, but no need to answer a question that they can easily find the answer to themselves.
Also, last thing.. /u/kirkt since we're on the subject.. what's the best way to store my nic and flavors?
Do what I did. I sent all my flavors to /u/skiddlzninja and just ask him to whip me up a batch whenever I see a good recipe.
> Rule #12: No answering nic storage questions.
That will not work because they would have to click Full Rules Found Here. to see it. It would be better if they made that section larger to include it.
On a serious note, add CSS right inside the text submission box that reminds people to check the sidebar before asking questions. You guys will prevent many a headache this way
Been there for years.
It doesn't show up for me when I click on submitting a text post (I checked before suggesting). I do have the sub style on, so I dunno why.
Dude. Do I need to keep my flavors and nicotine at different levels of refrigeration?? And can I put them in plastic baggies instead of bottles? Also, do I really need to test the potency of my nic every time I mix?
Yeah come back to us... I just started diy about a month ago and those flavor reviews helped me decide what flavors to buy. Im not into fruits as much as desert bakery flavors so I like to get new ideas for delicious creamy, bakery, cinnamon, custard, cookie , cheesecakey flavors and recipes!
As a serious response, pre measuring my nic and storing IN syringes within freezer bags has made my mixing easier and ensures a lack of oxygen in my nic.
It's a lot of work up front but makes everything after SO easy.
dude....weight
Weight for everything else, but doesn't come close to grab and go single use syringes
Nice amount of downvotes on this topic. That shows that the stupid question people outnumber the non stupid question people.
Time to create a new sub then.
Or you know, the stupid lazy noobs who can't be fucked to search can just create their noob island and ask all the stupid questions they want. Seriously do not understand the "elite DIYers should open their own subreddit" bit. We are not here to pander to noobs, I'm certain that was never the intention of this subreddit. The resources are ample and it's all ready and freely available. It just boils down to you and how resourceful you are.
