Glazed and Confused
submitted about 9 years ago by mlNikon

Glazed and Confused - I used Wayne Walker's bronuts recipe as a starting off point for this treasure but think it is different enough to post. If you disagree, please let me know thanks!

Biscuit (INW) @ .7%
Chocolate Glazed Doughnut (CAP) @7%
Cream Cheese Icing (LA) @ 2.5%
Joy (FA) @ .25%
Strawberry (Ripe) (TPA) @ 3%
Strawberry Taffy (CAP) @3%
Sugar Cookie (CAP) @ 1%
(optional) Sweetener (TPA) @1%

Biscuit- This adds a rich buttery goodness to the doughnut and helps keep the doughnut separate from the glaze.

Chocolate Glazed Doughnut - Well, this is self explanatory. It is the main profile of the flavor. I am super glad I used this as it combines a good waxy chocolate glaze and a sweet doughnut together.

Cream Cheese Icing - I wanted the glaze on the doughnut to be sweeter and richer than most doughnuts, sort of like cake frosting and this flavor does this beautifully.

Joy - Joy brings an extra sweetness to the dough and fills out the doughnut a bit more. It gives the doughnut a more cakey note.

Strawberry Ripe/Strawberry Taffy - This is the strawberry drizzle on the chocolate glaze. I used taffy because I wanted a bit more of a sugary, waxy strawberry and the ripe is to add sweetness and complexity to the recipe. It may seem like a lot of strawberry for just a drizzle but I think it works well as the chocolate glaze is pretty powerful.

Sugar Cookie - I originally used this flavor because I didn't have yellow cake and was excited to try bronuts but I think it really works here. It adds body to the doughnut as well as sweetness.

The title made me think this was a /r/bandnames post.

Came here for the Led Zeppelin reference, well done sir.. I'll make sure to get the necessary flavours in my next order and will report back.

This reminds me of a recipe I was working on for a while that I never was able to make any headway on. I wanted to do a sort of Dunkin Donuts strawberry frosted doughnut. But it never worked out. Need to get some other plain doughnut concentrates.

This looks good though, from a conceptual standpoint. If I didn't hate Bronuts / CAP CGD as much as I do, I'd mix this up.

I am with you on CGD. Nasty shit.

I am extremely close to an awesome Glazed Doughnut recipe using no donut flavored concentrates.

Looks interesting!

I am missing a few flavors (actually I am just missing the strawberry taffy) but if I get around to buying that I'll give this a try!

Love seeing some extra doughnut love on this sub!

I actually like the strawberry taffy, it can get wierd in high percentages.

Gonna whip this up but drop the Cream Cheese a lil bit. I found that at 1% it's still pretty strong.

Looks really good.
