A.B.C. Waffler
submitted almost 9 years ago by birdejuice

Due to the Aug 8th market freeze, I have a number of recipes that will never make it to our production line but can still be enjoyed by the DIY community. I'll start things off with a relatively simple but unique waffle mix.

I wouldn't consider this recipe 100% dialed in, but going through my notes and test bottles, this is one I personally vaped a good amount of.

A.B.C. (Apple Banana Cinnamon) Waffler

VG/PG Recommended Ratio 80/20 up to Max VG

> TFA Belgian Waffle 6% > > TFA Cinnamon Sugar Cookie 1% > > TFA Bananas Foster 3% > > TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust 2% > > FA Fuji Apple 1.8%

>Optional Sweetener 0.3%

Note - We do not use Sucralose in any of our flavors in our line. This is completely optional, there's no denying it adds a little more "zing" to the recipe at the expense of changing your cotton more often.

Steeping time - Good fresh and ideal after about a week. This flavor tends to lose a good amount of the waffle taste after a month or so which is one reason why it was never pursued further.

TFA Belgian Waffle - The waffle base. I prefer Belgian Waffle over the standard TFA Waffle, but there's also a subtle spice that comes with the Belgian Waffle. We'll use that to our advantage by further accenting it with cinnamon.

TFA Cinnamon Sugar Cookie - Used at 1% here to complement the spices of Belgian Waffle and add a little more depth to the Waffle base. Feel free to bump this up if you enjoy cinnamon, 1% is just enough to know it's in there.

TFA Bananas Foster - Used for a nice banana taste that pairs well with the waffle profile as well as adding sweetness and just a little more spice to the mix.

TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust - Used to add depth to the waffle base and some creaminess to the mix.

FA Fuji Apple This is the star of the show that cuts through the rest of the profile to give that nice apple top note as well as taking the overall sweetness to a nice level without needing sweetener.

Enjoy! -Walter

Thank you for this! Been looking for a decent waffle, last one I tried tasted like paint thinner.

That's been my experience with waffle flavors in general. I've tried the regular TFA Waffle and also Cap, both give me a very bad alcohol taste no matter what. Tried cap off steeping, regular steeping, whatever, nothing worked and the alcohol was still there.

I know this is taboo on this sub but the only thing I could do to get rid of the alcohol was a little bit of heat. It didn't take much heat at all and the alcohol was gone but the flavor was there.

Only a few of our production juices use flavorings with Ethyl Alcohol in them, but we cook that off with heat before mixing the flavor base. Taboo or not, it's an effective method to get the results you're looking for.

Do you cook it off from just the flavor itself first? I thought the alcohol was in there to stabilize the flavor and figured cooking it off that way would cause problems.

No problem! To be honest I haven't explored many waffle flavorings. Belgian Waffle isn't spot on but it's a very nice bakery flavor that can pass as waffle, and it's much better than the standard TFA Waffle imo.

You should give Liquid Barn's Belgian Waffle a try. It's not a very concentrated flavour, I've used it up to 8% in a mix but it's very nommy.

Nice looking recipe. I've never tried Banana Foster before. Is it a pure banana or more of a cream mix?

It's predominantly banana, the cream isn't too strong but it's present. There's also a subtle brown sugar and cinnamon combo going on in the background.

Definitely a flavor worth checking out, I used to vape it as a standalone flavor way back when.

It'll definitely go into my next order. I suspect that profile will go nicely with some Banana Nut Bread. Thanks again.

No problem! Banana Nut Bread is pretty light on the banana (especially after steeping) so they do go very well together.

Thoughts of subbing CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl at the same percent? Been looking for a good waffle vape for a while and have all the other ingredients.

That should work out really nice, pretty much the same idea where it builds on the cinnamon and adds some pastry/bakery taste to the waffle. I'd imagine up to 2 or even 3% would be fine for CAP Cinnamon Danish depending on your tastes but 1% should be a good start.

Very cool of you to do this. Looks like a solid recipe.
