Mouth Feel - Smooth through the nose and lungs.

Flavor Properties- There has been a lot of talk about this flavor in the past (and understandably so, considering this is probably one of the few mainstream salted caramel flavorings out there). I get a rich, dark caramel followed by an inherent saltiness. The saltiness is not overwhelming by any means. It's more like it plucked few grains of salt and sprinkled it on the tip of your tongue. Honestly, it's a strange sensation and I've never felt anything like this before. Some people have claimed they do not taste it and I'm not entirely sure if it's power of suggestion at work. It could be a placebo but as of right now, I definitely taste an underlying saltiness.

Relatable Flavors - almost buttery, caramel, rich, salty, decadent

Off Flavors - Nothing worth mentioning.

Position In The Recipe - More of an accent flavor. However you will need a larger percentage of it to taste that saltiness (start at 4% and move your way up)

Pairings - bakeries, cheesecakes, butterscotch, tobacco

End notes - I think FW hit this flavoring out of the park. It really resembles a true salted caramel topping. Try it out yourself and lemme know your thoughts. I would be curious to hear about the saltiness aspect.

Man I've long been interested in this flavor; hoping it hit the "salted' aspect even a little bit. I know how difficult it is to push a juice into any "savory" direction, especially "salty"... considering the inherent sweetness of vegetable glycerin.

I'm loving all these FW reviews lately. Their list of hidden gems is really growing. I'm adding it to my next order. Thank ya kindly brotha!

edit: I wonder if actually sprinkling salt on your tongue while vaping would lend any kind of salty sensation....? I'm like 50/50 joking/serious. I'm gonna try it and report back.

Yeah, it's hard to go into umami territory. Although I feel like there is a lot of potential with FW Salted Caramel.

I could imagine a really tasty Salted Caramel Butterscotch cheesecake vape. Mmmmmm..

Thanks for this. I'm working on a Salted Caramel Custard at the moment using this as an accent flavour to TFA Caramel Original and FW Butterscotch Ripple. I've started low at around 2% so will use your 4% suggestion in my next test batch.

Thanks

It is definitely tasty and I get some saltiness on the exhale. I've had this flavor a while and haven't used it in anything other than single flavor testers. Maybe this will be my project for the week coming up with a recipe

I've been working on a banoffee pie/cookie flavour for a friend, using this this stuff for the toffeeness. Pretty nice.

I know this is an old thread but got any suggestions for a salted caramel with cream recipe?

Just salted caramel and plain cream?

  • FW Salted Caramel - 4%

  • FW Sweet Cream - 2%

  • FA Fresh Cream - 1%

Thanks for the fast reply. I meant a way to jazz a plain one up. The few I have tried just don't hit that caramel spot for me like something is missing if that makes since.

Yeah, the salted caramel is not heavy on the caramel. Maybe try pairing it with Flavourart Caramel or FW Caramel Candy.
