Strawberry giving me the runaround (Phantom by Predator)
submitted about 9 years ago by MDEARING

I'll preface this by saying i'm not very good at DiY- I've concocted over 30 different "TEST" batches with hundreds of different variations and tweakings- and they all pretty much suck. I'm literally just making 240ml of Unicorn Clone and dealing with it.

I decided on a whim to try a highly-praised strawberry milk from Predator called "Phantom". There is no doubt it is a solid juice, but the strawberry is completely different than the 19 other flavorings I already have/tried.

I'm almost sure I have every vendors strawberry yet the exhale you get from predator is like something brand new.

I don't sense very much bakery hints at all (little to no custard, no graham cracker crust etc) yet the overall experience is VERY smooth.

Anyone have any experience with Predator wanna shine some light? (pls don't say OG TFA strawberry, I will fall over ded)

Also I'm not straight out asking for the recipe even if its been cloned, I'm not here to steal Phantoms business, I'm just very perplexed at how the hell they get this type of perfection :D

Thanks all.

Boo ya! Thank you!!!

So question about reddit search: I searched the words "PHANTOM" and "PREDATOR" on all-time and under relevance and comments

This did not come up in those searches, yet its pretty obviously right there in the header

You have 19 strawberries? I just counted and I only have 17... not sure why anyone needs that many, let alone 2 more. Seems excessive. ;)

To your question; I doubt it's anything too rare or hard to find as Predator is considered "budget" juice, they're probably not throwing a bunch of Hangsen Strawberry in their recipes. It's likely a combination of Strawberries that are more readily available.

I might have a really old bottle with some left. I'll try to find it when I get home and report back.

Strawberries in the teens! JFC, you two!

I have 8 mangoes and 8 lemons (unless I'm allowed to count Lemon Cake, Lemonade Cookie, CAP Lemon-Lime, and FA Citrus Mix). Do I at least come close to you in either of those categories?

I just actually sat down and counted my saved master list.

I only have 15, Apex has me beat :D

I have 9 mangoes and 7 lemons. If we were allowed to count anything with just the name somewhere in it, then I would have 24 strawberries, 15 lemons and still 9 mangos. Apparently they don't really pair mangoes up with anything.

YEAH!!!! I have more straight-up lemons than you!

I am aware of 63 strawberry flavorants, and there are probably another 163,000 I don't know about.

We're obsessed with strawberry apparently.

Yea its nothing super 'premium'- my basis was wondering if I was missing an entire flavoring vendor. Its just so different compared to all the other strawberry/cream pairings i've worked with.

I haven't had the juice but could they be using some dragonfruit or orange cream with the strawberry? Both are somewhat common ways to sort of brighten-up strawberry flavours.

I have meddled around with adding .01-2% Dragonfruit in increments to see what it does to back-end strawberry flavors.

I've tried most of those increments shake-mixed as well as waiting out 7-10day steep periods and all that I can tell you is that I absolutely despise even .01% DF added.

omg I didn't like any of them. Orange cream is a new thought, (and for some odd reason my master list claims I have some..)

Thanks for the idea

The flavor industry is flat out obsessed with strawberry, so that could be a very long hunt.

The one that was posted is probably your best shot at getting close to what you're after without embarking on the Great Strawberry Odyssey of 2016.

If by chance you decide to make that trip, make sure and post flavor reviews, for posterity.
