Adding Nicotine at a later date
submitted about 9 years ago by dnote22

I am sure this has been answered before but I could not find a answer in the side bar. I recently decided to get back into DIY after taking about 7 months off. I found a local shop that had a reasonably priced butterscotch custard that was hard to copy, but have recently been burned out on it. Anyhow I placed an order with Nude Nicotine and recently read in another thread that shipping times take a little while. I was wondering if it is ok to mix my vg, pg, and falvoring allow the steep to start and add the nic when it arrives. Any feedback is appreciated.

I mix a litre at a time and only add nic when I transfer it into 30ml bottles. You're totally fine.

This is exactly what I do, though I generally do 100ml portions.

I prefer to do it this way because that way if my nicotine needs change I can adapt instantly instead of having a liter of juice with a set amount.

Thanks, i did not think it would be a problem. Just wanted to make sure before going ahead and doing so.

I mix my flavors in bulk as well, then fill 30 ml bottles when in need and add the nicotine.

Did you buy 100 mg/ml nicotine? Makes life much easier.

If so, use this easy math when filling your 30 ml go to bottle. Multiply the strength you want time 0.3. For example - if you want a 6mg strength, 6 x .3 = 1.8ml of 100 mg/ml nicotine. If a 15ml bottle, add .9ml of nicotine and so on.

I mix by weight since it is much easier and precise every time.

Good luck!

Easy way to calculate how much nic you need
(Target Nic / Nic Strength) X bottleSize
(6/100) X 30ml = 1.8ml for 6mg nic

For some reason my nicotine ampoules are 90mg/ml. Very so slightly annoying, because all of my juices end up being 1.8mg/ml, or 2.7mg/ml or 3.6..

They come straight from chemnovatic though, and are some of the best nicotine I've ever had.

That is fine, and if you're ever planning on storing it for a long period of time probably better. Just tried a batch of vanilla custard I mixed about 10 months ago, but never added nic to until about a week ago and man is it fantastic.
