Bringing out strawberry
submitted about 9 years ago by xbungalow

Looking for some tips on enhancing strawberry flavoring. Ive made about 15 strawberry recipes and I cannot get the strawberry to where i want it, it always tastes bland or muted to me. I've been using mainly TFA strawberry and strawberry ripe.

From my experience with strawberry. You usually have to mix different strawberry flavorings to get the profile to where you want it. Strawberry (Red Touch) by FA, is another great strawberry you might want to look into.

This is what I found.

I never use a single Strawberry and invariably mix it with Strawberry Ripe + Cap Sweet Strawberry or INW Shisha.

Shisha is a very distinct taste so I use it sparingly....

can you describe said distinct taste?

Not really. It is just a very distinct strawberry that stands out against others.

It is one of those flavors that I can pick up out of a line-up is all. If I don't use it sparingly it will be all that I can taste in a vape.

TFA Orange Cream at 20:1/10:1 Strawberry:Orange Cream. Just try it!

Try TFA Strawberry Ripe and INW Shisha Strawberry at a 2:1 ratio respectively. If you really want Strawberry go with Ripe at 4% and Shisha at 2%

TFA Strawberry is a horrible flavor IMO. Order some strawberry shisha INW. It's a slightly candied strawberry ripe, very good even as a standalone.

+1 on the Shisha Strawberry. It solved my strawberry problems.

Add a small amount of TFA dragonfruit for extra juiciness.

Ripe is a great flavor but its easy to overpower it with heavier flavors. I use it as a way to sweeten juices as I've grown a hatred towards other sweeteners. IMO Strawberry shisha is overhyped and tastes like a slightly more carbonated tfa strawberry (non ripe). Which means it tastes like a waxy strawberry, The kind one would find on a chapstick. To the op, an easy to work strawberry that really stands out in the front of any recipe would be Strawberry sweet by jungle flavors. Its mostly comparable to Capella sweet strawberry but it doesnt get lost as easily in a mix. here's the link http://www.ecigexpress.com/shop/diy-e-liquid/diy-e-liquid-flavors/jungle-flavors/fruit-and-sweet/strawberry-sweet-by-jungle-flavors.html

I disagree with almost description you gave but your post does accentuate how taste is different for everyone. CAP Sweet Strawberry tastes really bad to me. The flavor of shisha vs TFA Strawberry is not even close IMO.

I haven't tried jungle flavors...I'll have to pick it up just to compare.

CAP's sweet strawberry is garbage IMO. JF sweet strawberry for the win!

Its a slightly more sour sweet strawberry but its much stronger. I'd say 5% jf strawberry is comparable to 8-10% cap strawberry. Also cap strawberry does tend to have a chemical after taste when you first mix it while jf strawberry does not. I wouldn't say its authentic tasting, its more of a strawberry syrup but it comes through more than any other strawberry I've tried and you don't need to mix and match to get it to pop.

I'm glad I'm not the only one unimpressed with Shisha Strawberry. I heard so many people rave about it, I HAD to get it. When I did, I was like... meh. My favorite strawberries to date are still TFA Strawberry Ripe and Capella Sweet Strawberry and I usually mix them both together.

I like to mix strawberry ripe with fa strawberry as they are both very similar but fa strawberry has a little more green to it. Both combined around 8% each with a little bit of fa fresh cream and Bavarian cream make a really good lightweight natural strawberry milk.

The JF hype is real.

agree I was so disappointed after paying 30$ for the 4oz. I was like damn it that could have been 16oz of TFA Straw

I don't think you can flat out say something is horrible. TFA Strawberry has been used to great effect in fizzmustard's nana cream and mustard tiger. It has its time and place.

Yes...yes I can. To me it tastes like chemicals. Bananas remind me of an diarrhea medicine I was given as a kid, makes me gag. Cinnamon flavors overpower my taste buds causing an almost instant migraine followed by 10-15 minutes of vomiting.

Everyone's taste is different.

why is it horrible?

As one said Dragon fruit or .5% raspberry or even less. Sometimes sweet raspberry is to much

I love Inawera Strawberry concentrate & Strawberry Kiss concentrate . Shisha is excellent as well .

A mixer who got out of the business revealed strawberry recipes that had 15% strawberry , i tried them & if you love in your face strawberry that will do it .

Low percentages of Strawberry pales in comparison.

is there a reference to this revealed recipe anywhere?

It's somewhere on reddit but it's really not worth looking for it , pretty sure it was 15% Capella Sweet Strawberry. Nothing else , it's definitely vapable & if you can never taste Strawberry it might be your thing.

15% strawberry? Doesn't seem like there would be room to add anything else.

I don't think there was anything else . I think that was it as far as i remember . Yours is superior anyway.

Strawberry is a tough profile if you're looking for that nice bright flavorful profile. Raspberry and Apple help give it some pop, as well as some enhancers like sucralose, EM, or ascorbic. It takes a bit of tweaking to get a strawberry where YOU want it.

DRAGONFRUIT my friend also apricot and mango go well with tfa strawberry. try these out you will love them 10% tfa strawberry 4% tfa apricot (I do 5 % but recommend u try 4 first) 1% dragonfruit for the pop!!! if u don't have tfa mango is a nice sub but do not got over 1% with mango For your Ripe Strawberry 8% Ripe 6% loran banana cream, 1 % dragonfruit tfa, 1-2% citric acid best steeped a day or two but not bad after the shake. another I like with Ripe is 8% Ripe Straw and 4% Kiwi Double 1% Juicy Peach. Hope you find what your looking for!

Malic Acid perhaps?

Some people can't taste strawberry though, or at least I have heard.

TFA Ripe Strawberry is strong as fuck to me at 5% so maybe it's not the flavorings that the issue is.

Orange cream at like .25-.5% or dragonfruit at .5-1% or raspberry at .25-.5% or lemon at .15-.3%. Typically some citrus flavors at very low %s can help brighten strawberry.

I mix TFA Strawberry Ripe at 3-4%, TFA Strawberry at 3-4% and Inawera Sisha Strawberry at 1%.

It works for me, may work for others too.
