So, I was wondering if anyone would like to collaborate with me on possibly recreating coil glazes honey bun flavor.
It will most likely be difficult to make it on par with coil glazes juice, but I'm willing to try.
First off, I get a very dense/heavy, doughy and sweet taste from this juice. It is nearly the perfect honey bun flavor I've ever had.
I'm not sure exactly where to start and I have yet to even begin. But if I had to guess, I'd say there has to be some of these involved in some way;

Cap - Glazed donut
-
Fa - Honey
-
Cap - Cinnamon Danish swirl
-
ANY - Sweetener
Maybe it is exactly those ingredients at specific percentages but more than likely I'm way wayyy off..
I also recall seeing a little Debbie honey bun recipe at some point but I couldn't find it through search bar on mobile (not sure if mobile restricts searching or not) and I can't remember who made it.. (they are a common DIY'er in these parts I'm sure) but regardless I've had those honey buns IRL and its not on par with Coil glazes honey bun flavor.
So basically what I'm coming here/asking for is kind of like a kick start at shooting for a community recipe. One where all are welcome to help and give their advice on the recipe and process of figuring out how to make a good "clone recipe" (I hate saying clone, but in reality that's what it is)
Maybe I'm submitting this prematurely, I could possibly attempt it on my own and give details of my trial and error. But that's so normal.. I want someone who thinks differently than me, someone to try things I wouldn't.. idk this just seems like a simple yet tricky flavor to nail down and I would greatly appreciate anyone's input.
Anywho, please, Give me your advice!
The top post in the August Recipe Thread has a honey bun flavor.
I'm sure most of the stuff are interchangeable but it looks good to me. I haven't tried it though.
Mix this up /u/Twistedfexer and give it a shot. A lot of time was spent on that one so give her a shot.

Ohh I do plan on mixing that as well. I just haven't placed the flavoring order required to mix it yet. Holding off to make sure I order everything I need for the next few months lol
That will never happen. No matter when you order, you'll get it, and then, suddenly, a new super popular recipe comes out, and ooh it looks delicious! And you'll go down the flavor list and you'll have all but one. One flavor missing. Always. This is how I'm at 260 flavors in about 1 and a half years of mixing! Haha

/u/Twistedfexer I can't collaborate with you on this but I'd love to help you out a little. You are correct, Coil Glazes' juice does not taste like an IRL Little Debbie Honey Bun like mine does.
Coil Glaze Honey Bunz is one of the few commercial juices I've tried in recent history. I don't believe there is any CAP Glazed Donut in Coil Glaze. I think that, even underneath the sweetener, I would have gotten some Play-Doh taste from Coil Glaze if it had CAP Glazed Donut in it. It might have some TFA Glazed Donut, though. I don't know what Honey flavor they're using. It's not TFA, that's for sure. If it is FA, the amount will be very low for sure, like 0.25% or less. You might try some FA Butterscotch. It doesn't taste like honey on it's own but will give a honey-ish note when mixed with cinnamon pastry. CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl: I think you nailed that one. Sweetener: Nailed that as well. I'm thinking something like 1 to 2% CAP Super Sweet.
Thank you for your input! I didn't think of the play dough taste, I haven't actually worked with cap glazed donut very much. I assume tfa glazed donut doesn't have that aftertaste, I'll have to order that one. As for fa butterscotch, that's another flavor I have yet to order, will be in this cart.
I'm guessing the "honey" flavor in honey buns might not even be honey, but if I was to use honey it would be fa for sure. Very low as you pointed out, too.

OK I tried this at a shop that I wholesale to and it is extremely similar to a juice I make.
It's not going to have any honey, it's using FA butterscotch. It also has FA caramel, with a custard base of TFA and CAP, and a little FA. I'm sure it has other stuff, but I'm damn near certain it has those.
I wish I could help more but I'd basically be giving up a proprietary recipe.
