Very sweet candy like marshmallow with a complex carmelized slightly nutty flavor. I'm getting just a hint of vanilla and rich creamy buttery note.

Position In The Recipe
As a additive or accent this is very useful and sweetness and smoothing out recipes along with adding a complex toasted nutty note.
As part of a base in a few scenarios such as s'mores or any heavily cream-based recipe.
Off flavers
On the back of the hand this has an extremely potent alcohol flavor, I have not noticed this and the baker but may be present in a shake and vape scenario.
Pairings

But my old oven was shitty and would burn anything in 5 minutes. I had just moved into that apartment and didn't know that it really only had two temperatures: room and hell.

I would say that's accurate and you're weird but I am intrigued how long do you toast marshmallows in the oven
Just turn the broiler on and stick them in there on a stick and CAREFULLY treat the broiler just like it's a fire. However, this only works if you are the kind of person who likes your marshmallows toasted to a beautiful golden brown. If you're one of those boorish jackasses who shoves the whole thing into the flames and lets it ignite, then blows it out and eats the black crust, go outside where you belong. Trying to achieve that in the oven, probably not a good idea.
I've been chasing a toasted marshmallow ice cream flavor off and on for the last month or two. 6% TFA TM, 4% cap vc, 2% FA Fresh cream, 1% FA Vienna cream, koolada to taste. It's good but the toasted marshmallow isn't coming through the way I want, specifically the toasted flavoring. I also tried TFA absinthe at .25% to boost the cooling and vanilla tones. That was still too much.
For what it's worth, I've had luck using CAP Graham Cracker at low percentages to get a perceived "toasted" taste in creams. I'm working on a custard using TFA Toasted Marshmallow whilst using CAP GC to enhance the toasty taste. I'm giving away my secret weapon here, but try a 4:1 ratio of TFA TM to CAP GC.
