I while back I tried a commercial juice called Isabella by F#cking Awesome E-juice. The description said something about Lemon Poppy Seed. It tasted like a Lemon Custard with this weird seedy malty nutty flavor that I guess was supposed to be the poppy seed flavor.
Anyone know of any Poppy seed flavoring, or any combination of things that can mimic it? FA Anise? FA Nut Mix? Acetyl Pyrazine? Some sort of Chai/Tea?
Some people have said they got a poppy seed flavor from INW Lemon Cake, but to me it just tastes like Betty Crocker lemon cake mix cake without any icing. Maybe try INW Sesame?
Funny you should mention sesame. I recently got it to try and work into a mango sticky rice I'm currently chasing. the sesame concentrate is realllly strong to me, I made a 10% dilution and tested that standalone at 1%. Much more workable once diluted, just a touch of sesame without feeling like I stuffed a handful of toasted sesame seeds into my mouth. Interesting idea using it for poppy, would probably work well for that.
Yeah, I don't get that poppy note people are talking about from the Lemon Cake but I've a hunch that a small dose of sesame flavor might draw it out. A dose similar to the size you're using.
So, I'm completely obsessed with all things mango and now very intrigued - which mangoes are you using for this sticky rice?
I can almost guarantee its INW lemon cake. I use that in my line for a pound cake flavor and if you vape it solo at around 3% the poppy note is pretty prevalent. If it tasted like a lemon custard they might also be using some FA custard so I'd add that to your cart also.
I believe it was a mixer of Charlie Noble who said something along the lines of its difficult to get INW in bulk for large mixing, so he doesn't use them in commercial recipes. So it may not be INW lemon cake if that's true for most commercial mixers.
It's pretty easy to get It in bulk actually. 5 litres is surprisingly cheap, cheaper than Capella by the gallon, and shipping is free for big orders. They use DHL Express which has gotten my orders to me within a week. Maybe they've stepped up their game compared to in the past. I find them easier to order from them Flavour Art personally. Way faster.
