Anyone compare the three types of NN salts?
submitted about 9 years ago by havensal

I see NN offers 3 types of nicotine salts, smooth, hit, and signature. Has anyone compared the three?

Normally I would buy a sample of all three myself, but I am going to be unemployed in a month or two.

I'm thinking of trying the "hit" so I can continue to lower my nic intake but still have the TH.

Thoughts?

I had the opposite thoughts with it. I was considering picking up smooth to up my nicotine level without as much throat hit so I can cut back on how frequently I hit my vape.

I don't think you're going to lose that throat closing hell cloud from higher nic just because it's salts, that was the main issue with standard nic in the first place, there was never truly a cigarette like throat hit from higher nic, just that almost ammonia like strain on your throat.

This is what I think is so awesome about it, you can totally customize your vape experience with something like this. I'm curious too to see how they measure up.

Have they given any indication as to what concentration ratio is equivalent for "hit" vs standard nic?

Hypothetical example: if I vape 6% standard nic, is the equivalent throat hit 3% "hit" salts?

I realize it's likely subjective, but it would be nice to have a ballpark suggestion when starting out with it.

I ordered the smooth. Still waiting on its arrival.

Please do report how it goes when it arrives. I've been waiting for a smooth nicotine ever since I started DIY'ing..

I've used their pg and vg 100mg based nicotine mixed at 3% and never had an issue with harshness or off flavors but I also don't use more than 3% in anything I make.

That's the thing, I seem to be extremely sensitive to nicotine. I get this extreme dryness and throat harshness/hit/pain build up in the back of my throat. I've bought many brands that people say they have very good results with and just seem harsh to me.

I'm about to do some experimenting with 0mg to see to what extend the nicotine is the culprit (which for now I believe it is) but even if I confirm it, I wouldn't want to vape 0mg liquid.

I would suggest smooth as well. I have been using this nicotine from wizard labs and it has quite a throat hit even at 2mg/ml of freshly mixed or steeped it doesnt matter. i tried going down to 1.5 and it was not enough nic or throat hit... I'm starting to think the throat hit itself is too "sharp". My first reaction to NN having 3 different types of nic was that its a bogus gimmick but i havent looked into it any

The reason why it has so much throat is it's wizard labs get some regular nude nic and it's completely smooth at 3mg.

I haven't compared the three of them, but I did get to try the signature salt, and I must say WOW. This stuff is great. I'm no expert by any means (diy for a month maybe) but I have a unicorn milk clone that has steeped for several days with ecx nicotine and a bottle of the same recipe that I mixed up today with the nn signature nic. The fresh bottle is at least 10x better. The flavors stand out significantly more, it's extraordinarily smoother, and it is MUCH stronger. Getting a little nic buzz here. Can't wait till this one steeps. First post ever btw.
