Just something I find interesting, when I used to smoke I hated menthol cigarettes with a passion, I need that bitter harsh flavor. As I get in to DIY, basically everyone who asks me to mix for them wants a menthol, I don't personally get it myself. While on the topic, what's a realistic menthol concentrate? I hate it so I'd never be able to know what's good and what's bad lol. Anyone tried NN mint tobacco? I have some on the way in the sample
Fruit/Menthol(or mints) tend to be popular.
Here's a quick recipe I whipped together for my girl.
6% Sweet Strawberry (CAP)
4% Strawberry Ripe (TFA)
2% Watermelon (TFA)
.5% Cool Mint (CAP)
.5% Koolada 10% (TFA)
Mixed this at Max VG. Right out of the bottle the mint is pretty potent even though it's in such a low %. I might up the Watermelon a bit. Overall this hasn't been too bad and in reality I just worked with what I had on hand at that moment.
P.S. I normally wouldn't use the Strawberry in such a high percentage but she requested it. I think I'll back then down to my normal ratio (3%, 2% respectively) in the next batch to see what happens.
Switch the sweet strawberry for peach and touch on the percentages a bit and this is basically my summer mix.
Which peach? That sounds great!
This is adapted from a half of a recipe i saw on here that i added some notes to. I give some to my friends who vape and they seem to like this one a lot.
I think white peach and watermelon is supposed to be blue raspberry the confectionery flavor, so sometimes I get a peachy/raspberry vibe with the wetness from the cactus, but other times it just tastes like an awesome summer strawberry flavor. Its really complex tasting for how few ingredients it has, and most of them being the basic TFA stuff.
Lake Cooler
8% Juicy Peach TFA
4% Watermelon TFA
5% Strawberry Ripe TFA
1% Cactus INW
1-1.5% Koolada 10% TFA
My spouse only vapes menthol atm. Which makes me passive aggressive since I try to make a bit more complicated juices. So hers is:
Some dash or % or whatnot of FA Menthol and FA peppermint.
I'm ashamed to say that its actually a good vape.
Try to fill out that menthol and peppermint with other things?
It's like saying vanilla is vanilla flavor when really there are lots of notes that make up vanilla as a flavor.
I put Koolada in almost everything I mix. I dislike the flavour of menthol but I love the chilling effect it gives.
I usually don't have time to try new juice recipes out, so I've been making menthol ejuice in 2-3 oz batches every few weeks. It's the one flavor for me that's never gotten old.
For me, it's max VG, 4mg/ml nic, and 16-18% by volume FW Extreme Ice. That's the juice (as sold by Mt Baker) that got me off cigarettes. Like OP, I hated menthol cigarettes and always had to have the strongest smokes available. Now I can't stop like the coolness.
I always have some Extreme Ice around. It's still one of my ADVs even after almost 3 years. I mix at 20%, 3mg nic, max VG. It's my go to juice on my travel/stealth setups, but a bit much in an RDA at 70+ watts, lol. I also love that it doesn't leave any lingering odours in hotels and rental cars :)
Do you mean
- does anyone dislike all vapes except menthol
- does anyone vape mixes of only menthol(s), base and nic
- do people exist that actually enjoy menthol vapes
I like mixes that contain only menthol. I like mixes that contain some menthol. I like mixes that contain no menthol.
Menthol is cool!
I wouldn't say I only love Menthol, but I do enjoy a minty vape when used correctly. I love CAP cool mint in fruit mixes, adds a touch of sweetness with a nice coolness as well, I much prefer it over straight menthol.
>I love CAP cool mint
What % do you add to your mix?
I love menthol vapes. I don't only vape menthol, but it is a staple for me. Fruits and menthol seem to work the best for me, although I would love to figure out a good menthol tobacco flavor. My favorite menthol is TFA menthol, just because it's strong as fuck and scratches that itch in low amounts. But CAP cool mint is tasty (it's the only ingredient in Adam bombs - Chillaxin), and INW eucalyptus and mint is good in a different way.
I have tried NN mint tobacco, and I thought it was shit. Mixed up 60mls using the sample at 1% and couldn't taste anything. Upped to 2% and got a super light tobacco flavor with a weird chemical taste which I assume was their attempt at menthol.
>it's the only ingredient in Adam bombs - Chillaxin
Wait what, is that even allowed? Pimping out a single capella mix as a premium priced ejuice?
It's probably pretty common. As soon as I opened CAP cool mint I knew it was the same. Mixed it at 10% and it was spot on. Kinda pissed me off because I bought that shit all the time for 23$ a bottle when I first started vaping. I went on their website a couple of weeks ago and looked at the description and it just said "cool mint" hahahaha
Edit: actually, I have no idea how common it is, since I don't work in the industry. Also, Adam Bomb is a pretty old brand as far as e juice goes, so who even knows if CAP cool mint was available publicly when they released it.
A small bag of menthol crystals and some PG is all you need for unlimited menthol concentrate. Microwave the menthol and mix with PG. It's easy to overpower juice with menthol concentrate. You'll probably want to add a sweetener.
I know I saw somewhere how to do this, but can't find it atm. A Menthol concentrate is like 10% menthol crystals in PG. Measuring the crystals by weight and adding to PG by weight, right? Not sure of the percentage to make a menthol concentrate.
By sweetner, are we talking EM? And if so, how much?
I took the unmeasured approach. Enough PG to stop the menthol recrystallizing (I think that was about 3x the volume of the liquid menthol but I don't recall). Then I added a minute amount of the mix to a juice, tested and added more until I got a feel for how mentholly I like it.
You can use whatever sweetner you like. Fruit flavors are good too. They don't have to be added to the menthol concentrate, they can be added while mixing juices.
Here's my adv for several months now;
Caps double watermelon 8%
FA(iirc) unicorn vomit 4%
Tfa strawberry 2%
Koolada 0.5%
Sweetener 0.5%
I mixed up a half a liter of it a month ago, getting ready to mix another half liter.
These were the first two recipes I worked out that I was really happy with. Nice cool vape with just a bit of menthol flavor.
Ingredient|% :---|---: Koolada 10% (TPA)|2 Menthol (TPA)|3
Flavor total: 5%
Added a bit of Red Hot for some flavor:
Ingredient|% :---|---: Cinnamon Red Hot (TPA)|1 Koolada 10% (TPA)|2 Menthol (TPA)|3
Flavor total: 6%
2% koolada seems like it would just hurt your mouth it would be so cold.
I think I've been vaping it for a long time (without knowing it). I used to buy Extreme Ice from ECBlends to mix with other e-liquids to give me that nice cool hit. Maybe I've become a bit immune to it's effects, but it feels great to me.
Edit: From the Koolada flavor review > Suggested Percentages:
> .5 - 2%. I've read respectable DIY'ers using this stuff up to 5% in a recipe. They just love anything menthol and mint. Koolada just brings more power to menthol vape for them.
