Mods or anyone out there..
I am new to this whole DIY thing and I was looking at doing my 2nd bigger order in a day or 2. I noticed something on the sidebar that I have glanced at before but I guess I just didn't fully comprehend all of it.
The survey is OLD. Over 15 months old, has nothing new come out or changed in 15 months? Have the base flavors not changed at all in that time? I mean just in the 30-45 days I have been following along and playing with a few things I have seen a shift from normal TFA/TPA to the DX line of flavors in a bunch of recipes.
Is there any chance that we could maybe put together a more updated list of the FIRST ORDER FLAVORS that one should be picking up when they want to get in to this "hobby"?

Someone tried a few weeks back but it didn't take off. I agree it could do with an update, needs to be well organized though and stickied for maximum visibility.
And someone would have to make a pollwith every flavor on it because people can't spell for shit(just take a look at the flavor lists on ELR, it's a fucking mess) so we would end up with 3 flavors on the top called TFA stRWABERRY
Maybe it can be sorted into flavor profiles so that new DIYers can see what are common flavors in the flavor profile they want to make.
Ex.
Bakery: CAP Sugar Cookie INW Biscuit CAP NY Cheesecake
Fruit: FA Fuji INW raspberry TFA strawberry
Tobacco: RY4 Double
Just to name a few
The first order flavors are still widely considered staples that are very commonly used.
The only ones I would think to add, if not on there already, are Cap Sugar Cookie, INW Biscuit, FA Fresh Cream, TFA or CAP Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, TFA Vanilla Swirl, INW Cactus, INW Raspberry, and FA Fuji.
You are only confirming my point... 9 flavors that you rattled off in 15 seconds that are NOT on the list currently. Maybe the list just needs to be expanded and not updated per se?
A first order list of 60 flavors wpuld be intimidating and discouraging.
I agree, being newish to DIY myself, I wouldn't know where to begin with 60 flavors and what to pick! If I were to buy all of them in 10ml bottles at $2 let's say, that's already $120 before anything else.
As /u/Auntjaemima said, the recommendation to focus on a few recipes is a good idea, and one I should've followed better. I did do this to an extent, but also ended up with some odd flavors I may never/rarely use again.
What might be good is to somehow link to some recipe recommendations based off the starter list - that way folks can get an idea of what they can make with those. Maybe tough to implement, but I think it'd give good direction and knowledge that X flavor does well in dessert mixes, etc.
Sorry, I wasn't disagreeing with you. I think the survey should probably be retaken, but it is still, very much, a good starting point for new mixers - you can still make loads of great juice based on those flavors. For what it's worth, the sidebar also states that it'd be a good idea to find a couple popular recipes and order the flavors from those. A lot of the newer, celebrated recipes will utilize some of the ingredients I listed.
Yes sir or ma'am I wasn't being argumentative in any way I was just trying to figure out how to get the most bang for my buck. I agree with you and now that Howie has posted the top 100 list I guess this will just be a non issue since I use EJR anyway. Thank you for your input!! I surely do appreciate it!!
Honestly, the first order flavour list is kind of pointless. Find a recipe that sounds good, and is highly rated. Or look up a clone for a juice that you know you like. Work from there, rather then buying a bunch of random flavours and hoping you can cobble something good together.
