Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of July 29, 2016
submitted about 9 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

You have everything you need to make my Mother of Dragons' Milk.

by Cynical_Hermitabout 9 years ago

Thanks both, my first will be this Mother of Dragon's Milk I think. I like the sound of that. Also thanks to this sub i've found the ELR website that gives you recipes based on the liquids you have.

2 points

by Cynical_Hermitabout 9 years ago

One more question, if I may. I've now received the liquids and just made 10ml of that recipe up.

How long, in your opinion should it be left to steep?

1 points

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

If you'd made more than 10ml, I'd say go ahead and try it, it's not bad fresh, and then save some for later. But since you only have a small amount, give it one week. Two would be even better, but one is sufficient.

I want a flame cheesecake base.

I've got:

Cap NY cheesecake

Tfa cheesecake graham crust

Tfa sweet cream

Tfa vanilla swirl

Tfa vanilla custard

Cap vanilla custard v1

Tfa marshmallow

Tfa vanilla bean ice cream

Tfa whipped cream

So far I've been trying different top notes added to 6% NY cheesecake, 3% graham crust

Have you looked here? I recommend the one posted by /u/InfinityFractal (minus the strawberries) that you lack the Graham Cracker Clear for, but looking over all of them might give you an idea that will take your cheesecake base to the next level.

Have you already tried making Cherry Coke and Dr. Pepper? Looks like you have all of the ingredients for them.

Cherry Coke: FA Cola 4%, Black Cherry 1.5%

Dr. Pepper: FA Cola 3%, Black Cherry 1.25%, Vanilla Bourbon 0.75%, Almond 0.75%, Marzipan 0.75%, FA Caramel 0.75%

2 points

by BargainBaconabout 9 years ago

Ahhh, that was why I bought those flavours, I now remember trying the Dr Pepper mix, but found I only tasted Cola, I may try mixing this up again. Thanks for the ideas.

1 points

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

The Cherry Coke recipe is exactly the same as the HiC recipe. I liked it. I still plan on doing some tinkering with it, but it wasn't bad.

For the Dr. Pepper recipe, the ingredients are all the same, but but you can see I've increased all of the %. Still have some more tinkering to do with that one as well. If you found you only tasted Cola in the original Dr. Fn Pepper recipe, though, try mixing it with 2% Cola instead of 3% and lower the Black Cherry to 1% instead of 1.25% (because I'm afraid that lowering the Cola and not lowering the Cherry with make the Cherry too prominent), but keep the other four at 0.75%.

CAP Harvest Berry 5%, TFA Strawberry Ripe 5%, TFA Sweet Cream 2%. Sweet mixed berries with a light cream. You really can't go any higher with TFA Sweet Cream before it starts to taste like cheese made out of toe jam.

by claymorebeatskatanaabout 9 years ago

TFA: Strawberry

Strawberry ripe

Bavarian Cream

Blueberry extra

Vanilla swirl

Dragonfruit

CAP: sweet strawberry

Lemon sicily

Lemon meringue pie

NY Cheesecake v2

I have menthol from my apothecary 1mg/ml

Usually vaping a 60/40 TFA strawberry/strawberry ripe mix, with 1% Dragonfruit, but it's a bit sweet for the summer.

Happy about any suggestions

EDIT: something refreshing for the summer would be awesome

2 points

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

Try switching your strawberry/strawberry ripe with a little dragonfruit and make it dragonfruit with just a little strawberry/strawberry ripe. Something like 7% Dragonfruit, 2% Strawberry Ripe, 1% Strawberry.

2 points

by claymorebeatskatanaabout 9 years ago

I'll try that, do you think adding menthol makes sense?

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

Yes definitely. I only left it out because I don't know how much to add.

Guys, what's the best cakey dough pastry juice I can make with this?

I've made Strawberry Shortcake Bar by NotCharlesManson and loved it and also Triple C Cake by DIYORDIE and it's still steeping.

What else can I do?

Thanks!

That's a nice stash you have there.

Try reposting this question here, a new weekly thread just popped up and it might have more chance of being seen there: https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/4wa1jn/weekly_suggest_a_recipe_for_my_flavors_thread/

Also, have you looked at https://alltheflavors.com/ ? It's much easier to find good recipes there.

ATF has a "what can I make with my flavors" function like ELR but unlike ELR, it doesn't turn up a bunch of garbage recipes. I don't know if you have to pay for a subscription to use that feature but the pay-to-play aspect of it helps keep a lot of junk out, and it helps that all the flavors are known there by only one name.

Morning all! Been doing a bit of googling but I'm in the office at the moment so a lot of results have a habit of being blocked by works IT :/

I'm off to the USA in a few weeks, and have a 2 Liter batch of Dragons Blood steeping, however it won't be ready till a week after we fly! I'm looking at getting a few new concs in the next few days, and from what I have read Inawera look like they're very strong and thus likely to last longer when I start mixing them.

Just wondered if anyone had a decent shake and vape that uses ONLY Inawera concentrates?

1 points

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

You can try my Real Lemonade recipe: INW Lemon 3%, INW Lemon Mix 1% - tastes like fresh-squeezed lemonade, light on the sugar, not that powered drink mix. If you want to try something that's sweet and slightly creamy to compliment all that tartness, INW Shisha Vanilla might be a good addition to that between 1 and 3%.

It's not a shake and vape, but just an overnight steep, and I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard good things about this recipe: https://alltheflavors.com/recipes/1212#manner_by_altneurose . 4% Biscuit, 1% Lemon.

Not recipes, but INW Shisha Strawberry is good standalone at 3% and INW Pineapple is good standalone at 5%. Also Lemon Cake at 2.5%.

Ooh that sounds quite tasty actually. Might have to give that one a wee bash!

I'm looking for some cool recipes, if they are already tested would be better, please include steep time if possible thanks :)

FA Cocunut FA Costarica special (Mango) FA Fuji FA Jamaica Special (Rhum) FA Cold pressed lime FA Meringue FA Red touch

2 points

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

With so few flavors you're not likely to get much by the way of already-tested cool recipes.

Your best bet is to try them as single flavors first and then decide which ones you want to mix together. Here are some good single-flavor %'s for those flavors: FA Coconut 2.5%, FA Mango 1.5%, FA Fuji 3%, FA Jamaican Rum 2%, FA Cold-Pressed Lime 2%, FA Meringue 1.5%, FA Red Touch 4%. When you try mixing them together, start with half of the good standalone %. So for example if you find that you like 2.5% Coconut and 4% Red Touch and want to see how they taste together, you could mix up 2% Red Touch and and 1.25% Coconut and see how that goes, then decide whether that's worth pursing and if so, do you want it to be more strawberry-flavored or more coconut-flavored next time? If so, increase the one you want more of in the next batch by 0.5 to 1%.

I have some experience working with every one of these flavors and they are all good ones, but every tried-and-true recipe I can think of, you're missing ingredients for. If you want to try some simple two-ingredient, untested recipes that I think will probably taste good:

Coconut Rum: Coconut 2.5%, Jamaica Special 1%

Apple Tahiti: Fuji 3%, Cold-Pressed Lime 0.5%

Mango-ringue: Mango 1.5%, Meringue 1.5%

Strapple: Fuji 2%, Red Touch 3%

Strawberry Limeade: Red Touch 4%, Cold-Pressed Lime 0.75%

New DIY'er here. Need some helping making recipes with the flavors I got from the Liquid Barn DIY kit. I've already made Strawberry Cheesecake on it's own, along with Creme Brulee on it's own. The only mix I did was Belgian Waffle (9%) Strawberry (6%) and Cream (3%). That one came out pretty well. I've done all with no nic and a 65 VG and 35 PG. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can make with the flavors below? Thanks ! Flavor 1: Cream

Flavor 2: Strawberry

Flavor 3: Creme Brulee

Flavor 4: Strawberry Cheesecake

Flavor 5: Fresh Cream

Flavor 6: Sweetener (Flavor Enhancer)

Flavor 7: Sour (Flavor Enhancer)

Flavor 8: Snickerdoodle

Flavor 9: Belgian Waffle

Flavor 10: Bakers Touch

There aren't a lot of recipes out there for Liquid Barn flavors but try Fresh Cream 4% and Snickerdoodle 3% for a sort of snickerdoodle cookie with milk.

Ok well I have alot of flavors..here it goes..

All TFA..dragonfruit,juicy peach,ripe strawberry,cantelope,mango,banana cream,vanilla swirl ,ry4 double,ripe banana,pear,Apple,orange cream,key lime pie,pino colada,peanut butter ,double chocolate,

Everything I mix tastes like 5/10 and that's me following recipes..like the holy melon clone that I thought would be insanely good..it's just not doing it for me.

2 points

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

Try This: 7% Dragonfruit, 3% Strawberry Ripe, 3% Vanilla Swirl.

And one of these:

  • 5% Juicy Peach, 3% Vanilla Swirl, 2% Banana Cream.

  • "Not the clone you're looking for" by /u/BendroRodrigo: Banana Cream 7%, Dragonfruit 5%, Strawberry Ripe 3%.

  • Apple 2%, Pear 2%, Dragonfruit 2%, Strawberry Ripe 2%

  • Double Chocolate 4%, Orange Cream 4%, Vanilla Swirl 3% (and let it steep for two weeks)

  • Peanut Butter 5%, Vanilla Swirl 4%.

  • 8% Banana Cream, 4% Peanut Butter, 2% Vanilla Swirl.

Have you tried this yet? I know it has strawberry but that's mostly just there to provide sweetness (and smooth out the lemons, maybe), which you should get from it, even if you can't taste the actual strawberry.

It's currently my ADV! Great recipe!

1 points

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

If you like it that much, I recommend playing with it. Consider the LA Lemonade, FA Lemon Sicily, and TFA Strawberry Ripe to be your Lemonade base, and try making small batches with any of your other flavors in place of the Raspberry.

2 points

by Espirationnabout 9 years ago

So what I have is pretty simple at the moment (all TFA):

  • Strawberry (ripe)
  • Cheesecake Graham cracker
  • Bavarian cream (DX)
  • Vanilla bean gelato
  • Dragonfruit

Thanks in advance!

2 points

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

Try this: 7% Dragonfruit, 2% Strawberry Ripe, 2% Bavarian Cream, 2% Vanilla Bean Gelato. Let it steep for at least a week, maybe two, as those DX flavors need a longer steep.
