Brightening Cherry Flavors

Okay, so I'm on mobile. Bear with me on the formatting.

I'm trying to make a cherry vanilla cola recipe. It started off incredibly simple, but it wound up getting a bit more complex than I anticipated. That aside, I'm using FA Black Cherry at 2.5%, and I don't want to keep dumping flavoring in. After about 3-3.5% it starts getting a little weird to me, so I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to make it pop a little and bring it out more.

Are there any flavor combinations that could bring that Cherry note a little more forward? The balancing act between Cherry and Vanilla is really starting to get to me.

I added about 0.1% Inawera Marzipan to my last cherry recipe and it seemed to bring out the cherry top notes.

I was coming here to suggest FA Marzipan (<0.5%), so I am sure INW Marzipan would be awesome too.

FA Almond seems to have the same effect but less sweet, works better with a cherry base note where Marzipn brings out cherry as an accent or top note.

I'd have to guess it relates to Cherry and almond having similar AVCs

Sounds about right.

In cooking, some dishes that use cherries require you to leave the stones in, as the stone gives it a more almond-y taste.

+1 for the Swedish Fish. It's not crazy, I use Swedish Fish as the "cherry on top" of a banana split recipe.

Come to think of it, that recipe started with the base you gave me.

Awesome. Yeah, Swedish Gummy (I failed on the proper name of that one earlier), has some issues, but in a small quantity it'll give you a nice non-cough syrup cherry flavor. Someone else was using it as the cherry on top of a pineapple upside down cake not too long ago.

Also, you can't just say that without sharing the whole banana split recipe. Cough it up.

This latest version steeped out pretty good, I was overzealous with the Swedish gummy though, put it at 2%. It's good but just a touch on the harsh side. Also I've been continuing to use yellow cake in small doses, keeping it around 1% and letting cap sugar cookie and some Tfa CGC fill in the gaps. I'm on the right track but it's still not 100%.

Drop your black cherry to 1.5% and get fa cherry use it at 1% no more that 1.5 % add a little mts vape wizard and you'll be set

Have you been able to get this one to work? I've noticed it likes to separate and the flavor doesn't seem as uniform as it ought to be.

I've only used it in gummy candy flavors with tfa Swedish and tfa licorice. Solo it was fine. Iunno about separation. Shake it.

I cant be of any real help as I've never mixed with FW cherry, or any to be honest except for RF cherry pie. I have however never really read anything good about any cherry flavors out there except for Medicine flower if I remember correctly. With that being said, maybe try a diff manufacturer in hopes of finding something more upfront and vibrant (hopefully not cough medicine like)? Good luck either way

FA Anise is useful to brighten fruit flavours, it's worked for me in cherry tobacco mixes using FA Black Cherry. We're talking drops to get a brightening without an overt anise taste. Start at 0.1%, try going up to 0.2%, much above that and you'll start tasting anise.

and this jogged a memory, it may or may not help. I've not mixed it myself but knew had this bookmarked somewhere for future reference - HiC's Cherry Cola. Assuming this isn't what you started from already of course.
> Use twice as much FA Cola as FA Black Cherry. I like 3% Cola plus 1.5% Black Cherry. For stronger flavor, 4% Cola and 2% Black Cherry. You can add 0.5% TFA Koolada if you like a little coolness, like menthol without the flavor.

Ahh, thanks. I'll have to try the Anise later. I didn't actually find that cola recipe, but that's about what my gut told me to go with. I'm right around 3.5 Cola and 2.5 Cherry. The cola to cherry ratio isn't quite there, but the cola is really nice at 3.5
