Here is the reason if you would like to know.

I had tried quitting smoking for years... patches, pills, gum, nothing worked, at least not for long. I had finally given up on quitting, because simply, nothing worked for me. I smoked a pack a day for around 30 years and finally resigned myself to the fact that I would be a smoker forever.

4 years ago today, I was talked into going downtown to this place that sold these vape things. I was intrigued because I love toys, and these sounded like they could be fun! So after work I headed that way (He had actually tried talking me into it for weeks, but I finally had nothing better to do, so...)

I was smoking the last one from the pack, but I wasn't going to be long and the smoke shop was on the way home, I was just going to get a pack there. I got downtown and parked, walked over to the shop and put my cig out before going in.

There were a couple guys behind the counter talking to each other and were very disgruntled that they had to stop talking. I'm sure he rolled his eye when I asked the question "What is all this?" It was like pulling teeth to find out about the different things I was looking at, and what would be the best fit for me... I ended up having to just guess because they were not interested in helping at all. (A theme that holds true in a lot of vape shops today!)

So, I got a mid priced cig-a-like and some chocolate and some strawberry flavored juice and was on my way.

I put some chocolate in the thing and puffed and it was glorious! At a stop on the way home, I put strawberry into it, and that on top of the chocolate was even better! I skipped buying the pack on the way home because this was supposed to give me the nicotine, and it tasted amazing.

I puffed away on this over the weekend talking myself out of buying another pack and over the next week I puffed on chocolate and strawberry instead of Marlboro. The cravings were there, but were not horrible like normal.

As time went by, one of the normal triggers to make me want a smoke is when everyone else goes on a smoke break, eventually I will ask for "just one". I'm sure you ALL know how that goes. But now, standing with "The Group", I was puffing away on my chocolate so I wasn't tempted to get one. I HAD one, it just tasted better. Over the next two or three weeks, the cravings started to go away and got easier until I didn't think about buying a pack at all.

I had to learn like everyone else, what does PG/VG mean, does that tip fit a 510 or is that for something else, and all that fun stuff. I still do not mind answering those questions for people because 4 years just isn't that long ago. I remember not knowing and having to ask questions, (so please think of that when someone asks a simple question)

I was buying my juice online at the time just like you do now, except there were only a handful of places then and they were all single flavor mixes and not that great. So, that cigarette I put out before walking in to the shop was the last one I smoked. I kept the receipt on my cork-board in my office for a long time to remind me.
