submitted about 9 years ago by Chrisdvr1Proud Sidebar Reader!

Setup

RDA/ Velocity Coil/ 6 Wrap Single Fused Kanthal Clapton 2×26 core 32 wrap W/ 45 Wicking/ Full cotton bacon v2 Ω/0.26

Testing

Steep Time/2 weeks % Used/ 3.1 PG/VG 50/50 Nic%/0

Mouth Feel

Heavy on the tongue, and light on the nose, with the smooth dense mouthfeel 8 out of 10.

Throat Hit2/10

Flavor Properties

Fantastic sweet and piercing vanilla, not floral at all. Getting some bakery notes along with a earthy and slightly smoky flavor. Very authentic and not artificial in the slightest.

Relatable Flavors

Describing vanilla is like attempting to describe a color. Vanilla is strongly aromatic and contributes warm, floral notes. It’s a gentle but distinct flavor that complements many other spices and foods.

Off flavors

Can find nothing off about this flavor not even a lingering aftertaste, frankly the best vanilla I have ever tried.

Position In The Recipe

As an accent this could be used to heighten sweetness, enhance vanilla in other flavorings, and add contrast and complexity two creams.

Excellent standalone flavor, should also work as a top note or a part of base.

Pairings

Bakeries, cookies, tobacco's, berries, stone fruits, coconuts, savory flavors, dairy and cream flavorings, cereals, and floral flavorings.

Notes

I can see myself tinkering around with this one a lot, as stated earlier probably the best vanilla I have tried, followed closely by shisha vanilla, try substituting it out in recipes that call for vanilla bourbon, shisha vanilla, Ext...

Here is some information on where to find it, and a Wikipedia on vanilla if you're interested in learning more about this amazing flavor.

Great review. This flavor is to vanilla what FLV Rich Cinnamon is to cinnamon. I sub the vanillas out with it in almost every recipe. Also...

This coupon code is only good until 7/22, but, if anyone needs any incentive to pick some up, 25% off DIY Flavor Shack with: FUNINTHESUN25

Thanks for the heads up! Wasn't gonna buy anything this paycheck but I can't pass that up.

Looking at getting the 6 pack of flavors to try a few things, any suggestions aside from Holy Vanilla?

Not a one, I'm afraid. Holy Vanilla is all I've ever tried from there, but, I admit to being deeply intrigued with Li Hing Mui flavor: http://bit.ly/29MgTsj

WTF even is it?! I have no cultural reference point for this. Is it sweet? Is it sour? I don't know, but, next time I re-up my HV, I might tack some of that on, just because it drives me insane with curiosity.

Based on all the sub hype for Holy Vanilla I've seen forever, this review, and this coupon code, I decided to give in and try Holy Vanilla.

It arrived today and I'm sure my mailbox will smell like Vanilla for a long time. Smells great and I'm itching to mix with it but I'm not too confident the rubber dropper top will be good for keeping it in the bottle. Time for a re-bottle.

Agree 100%. Came to add that TFA Vanilla Bourbon is very very close to this. I found it works as a good sub when you forget to re-up HV. TFA is darker, black really, so I did eventually get more HV.

Good to know so far this is the only flavor I'm using from them paying almost as much for shipping as product

That's why I commented. Either one at 2-3% standalone is a perfect bakery type vanilla IMO. Very similar. Now I wonder how they would taste combined. Hmmm...

I bought a bottle of this and it came with a free sample of their vanilla custard. I would recommend trying that out too

I hate the taste of Bourbon even hints of it , i guess this one has a lot of that going on.

I think it's referring to the Bourbon region of France, not the corn-based liquor of Kentucky

It's referring to Madagascar, actually. Madagascar bourbon vanilla. Just a darker vanilla.

Thank you so much

by coop34about 9 years ago

Just to be clear, it's not the alcohol meaning of bourbon, just a type of vanilla.

by surfishermanabout 9 years ago

So it doesn't have any nuance of Bourbon at all thats fantastic , thank you so much.

Q's gonna take away our picture-adding privileges if we don't stop using ones that give him wood.

My absolute favouritest vanilla💙

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

Finally got some today. Do you have a favourite recipe that explains why it's your absolute favouritest vanilla? It smells like heaven.

Edit: Wait - MILF's Milk, right?

by tranceinateabout 9 years agoIn a good mood for now - don't piss me off.

Yup, the MILFs. Or sub out the vanilla swirl in peachy keen custard or one of my other recipes

I used to like using vanilla swirl to space out the HV & make it last longer, even though they're quite dffferent.

Based on the smell I might never use Vanilla Swirl again. Time to close the computer and shake up some standalones of this stuff.

I was shocked how expensive DIY Flavor Shack is .

Yes, yes it is.

Not really. The caveat is, it's extremely easy to throw your money around like a damn fool.

Great review once again. Very convincing/tempting. Lol

I'm sure it's amazing, I've been dying to try it, but I just can't bring myself to spend that much on 1 bottle of flavoring. I'll have to leave the Ferrari for now and wait for the chance to maybe test drive it one day.

P.s. Not to sound nit-picky; your link is for the premixed juice....this is for the flavoring.

Shit thanks I'll fix it

Am I missing something here? This "flavor" is priced like commercial juice.

Gah, you asshole. Just ordered a 30ml of it plus their Cinnamon Roll because, I love cinnamon rolls.

I hope you got the flavor and not the juice I f***** it up

Yeah I got the flavoring, I saw that before I ordered. :P

Got it. Wow it's darker than I ever imagined it.

Now, give me more recipes for it. All this hype behind it and I can't find shit.

please

I had a period of a few months where I stopped paying attention to basically all of my other flavors, and vaped only Holy Vanilla standalone. I can't sing it's praise enough.

1 points

by Chrisdvr1about 9 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

I'm finding it is fantastic as a standalone what percentage were you using

1 points

by HocusKrokusabout 9 years agoFrugivore

2-2.5% Standalone. I found 3% to be slightly off putting and a bit too strong for me. Generally 2%

Holy Cow I must have 15- 20 different vanillas and to me this is my go to vanilla (Holy Vanilla) for a good Baked Vanilla juice. I use this with Cap Vanilla Custard with a few other flavors to make a fantastic Vanilla juice. Holy Vanilla all the way Baby!!
