Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of July 15, 2016
submitted about 9 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

Got some new flavors recently and was looking for something to mix with Rice Crunchies (TPA).

Current selection: banana cream, Bavarian cream, cheesecake Graham crust, koolada, strawberry ripe, sweet cream, vbic, vanilla custard and vanilla swirl (all from TPA). Cookies and cream (RF), double Dutch chocolate and Kahlua (both FW).

Currently making a bunch of unicorn milk type recipes and cookies and cream ice cream (both awesome). Thanks!

Mix 4% Rice Crunchies with 4% Bavarian Cream, for starters.

After you steep and taste that, if you find it missing something, try making another batch (or batches if you want to try two or more variations) of the same thing plus 1% of one of your other ingredients: Cheesecake Graham Crust, Sweet Cream, VBIC, Van Swirl, Van Custard, Strawberry Ripe, or Banana Cream.

The skiddlz method lol

Pretty much, with the "just add 4% Bav Cream to whatever cereal," but also with a basic introduction to a proven method of gradually developing more complex recipes.

Awesome idea, thanks! I was unsure where to start and Bavarian cream is so versatile it's a shame I hadn't thought of it. Picked up the flavor on a whim and didn't really think ahead heh.

Going loosely on what /u/ID10-T said, heres a thought.

Rice crunchies 4%
Bavarian Cream 4%
Banana Cream 3%
Strawberry Ripe 2%

For a nice cereal with strawberry and banana. The Banana Cream should also help smooth the whole recipe out, not that it should be harsh in the first place.

Sounds like a solid recipe, I'll definitely give it a shot thanks!

This sub has been amazingly helpful for me while I've been getting started making my own juice.

And by helpful I mean this sub has pretty much destroyed every other aspect of my life and made making juice the great epitome of what I should be doing in life right now.

So, thanks mods or whatever.

Anyhow, my flavor stash.

INA:

  • Cactus

  • Grapefruit

  • Strawberry

  • Raspberry

  • Mango

I'm looking for something very specific but certainly not an uncommon request.. What I'm chasing is an analog cigarette flavor. NOT an aromatic blend or a super sweet blend, not into floral top notes or cherries, etc. RY4 is tasty but imo does not fill the niche of a real cig flavor. I have DNB and other INW tobaccy flavors so this should be doable. Still in the process of single flavor testing all my bottles so haven't attempted to mix the perfect blend yet. Would love to try what you got if you have a recipe that fits the narrow specs of my request.

Please check out my flavor stash HERE

inb4, yes I know that vaping will never taste exactly like a cig lol.

Back in the day when everyone was using drops and I was mixing 60/40 pg/vg I had a mix of all inw that was pretty close to an unlit cig. If I remember right it was tobacco symphony , Virginia ta and dnb. I'll have to see it I can convert it to % but it might give you a start

1 points

by T_Maceabout 9 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

That would be great thanks! I'll have to pick up Tobacco Symphony, I do plan on trying all the INW tobaccos so I'll throw it in my cart for my next order.

EDIT: Do the florals in INW Virginia calm down after 2 week steep? I have it steeping now at 1%, 3% and 6%. When I tried it after only a few days it was really floral-y and not my cuppa tea. But I know tobaccos gotta steep so I'll give it 2 weeks to a month before writing my notes.

I give the Ta's at least a month. Tobacco symphony is great but be warned there is a pretty strong throat hit

Hey, after our last discussion in your thread about tobaccos I have been keeping an eye out for recipes that look like they would fulfill that analog flavor you are chasing. This one caught my eye, but I don't have the flavors so I can't speak towards it. This user (Kinnickinnick on ELR) also has some other recipes that look promising.

Here: http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/385961/Dirty+Parmal and this one: http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/352299/Dirty+Seven+

Although the second one says it has maple notes and is a bit more floral, so I'm not sure that would fit the parameters of what you are looking for.

Edit: I think someone may have linked this user in one of your earlier threads.. if so, sorry, you probably already checked them out. Keep us posted if you ever find anything close to what you are looking for!

Hey! Thanks for getting back to me really appreciate it!!

I have been doing lots of digging as well. Actually I found the first link you sent me and have it bookmarked but I don't have Parmal yet so I'm waiting to order it. The other one I hadn't seen yet but will buy that flavor too. My approach will be to basically try anything labelled as analog for the next few months. By then I should have a good sense of what's working the best and I may try some master blend from there.

On my own I've had some luck too. In fact I was lucky enough to get my hands on "Red Burley", which is a new flavor from Flavorah. I don't think it's available yet on their site but coming soon. Anyway, it tastes amazing and is a great base for an analog. I mixed it with Western (TFA) and DNB (INW) and came up with something pretty decent. It's not perfect but I'm working on it. Also have a bunch more tobacco flavors steeping right now and a bunch more coming in on Monday.

So as you can see I'm taking this quest quite serious lol. Anyway, I'll definitely post any findings that I come across and drop you a message if I find anything ground breaking.

Again, thanks for keeping an eye out!! Cheers.

I saw your review of red burley and I'm excited to pick it up! That western/DNB sounds pretty good. After that last thread I picked up a bunch of Hangsen and INW tobaccos that I have steeping, so if anything really stands out that I think might work I'll let you know.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Also, what device are you using? That might influence the analog feeling. Like high nic (18g) in a kayfun or other mtl device might bring a mix that's close even closer.. And give you that throat hit.

What kind of equipment are you using, what wattage/ohms? I've found it makes a huge difference with Gummy Candy.

Don't forget to mix up Mixed Berry (Forest Fruit), Pineapple, Sweet Raspberry, and Strawberry Kiwi gummies while you're at it.

Not sure what kind of recipe you're in the market for but you could prob do a spin on my "Berry Creamy".

  • FA Forest Fruit @ 2-4% (preference)
  • FA Cream Fraiche @ 1%.
  • TFA Marshmallow @ 2%

He has decided to chuck the Forest Fruit because it reminds him of the medicine he had to take as a kid, but I think I'll steal this one, thanks.

I'm ideally looking to make something with the Grape as I got it to make a grape liquid for my SO who, after trying Elements Far Grape juice, wanted a grape vape. Other recipe suggestions are welcomed too though.

Right away I see perfect ingredients for a strawberries & cream or a strawberry cheesecake. I don't have any experience with CAP Grape or CAP lemon lime but I think a combo with those two might be fruitful. From here it depends on how daring or adventurous you are.

My first suggestion would be a simple S&C:

  • TFA Strawberry Ripe @ 3%.
  • TFA Strawberry @ 4%.
  • CAP VCv1 @ 2%.
  • CAP VBIC @ 4%.

Really any combo of the creams should be pretty good. FA Vienna Cream is a little trickier, but if you understand how to work that one in to a mix it can be pretty darn delicious. If you're feeling particularly adventurous, try also adding 0.5-1% of the Dragonfruit.

Yeah I haven't seen many recipes with the grape so will have to have a play around with it and see what works. And thanks for the suggestion looks a lot better than when i last tried to make fizz mustard without tfa strawberry and used strawberry ripe instead and there was not strawberry flavour to be found lol

I've been vaping about 2 months now. I switched over from cigarettes and have become totally obsessed lol. I've only had the supplies to DIY my liquid for about a week. I really like yoghurt flavours and have made the Peach Yoghurt (Fresh03) recipe and that was really nice. I didn't let it steep at all though and have learnt my lesson with other concoctions. I've signed up to and have been using the website linked at the top of the page and will be making some strawberry cheesecake but there are so many different recipes. Any advice from anyone is welcome. Thanks a lot :)

Edit: I'm vaping with a rx200s and a cleito tank using the 0.4 coil at 60w if that helps with coming up with liquids at all :)

Hopefully this is the right place for this...

Here's my tiny flavor stash. I just started mixing a few days ago and I've already mixed up all the recipes on ELR(?) that I can with these flavors.

What's a good way to pick out the next flavors I buy? Most-used on ELR?

2 points

by ID10-Tabout 9 years ago

The best way to pick out the next flavors you buy is to find recipes that look really good to you, recipes that come with detailed flavor notes you can learn from, and buy the flavors needed to make those.

I'm pissed that I can't find a watermelon I really like, but here's my list right now. Just wrote everything I've got down, I know a lot of it is shit.

Just got the Cactus and Koolada, it'd be fun to use those. Not sure how I want to use Koolada yet though.

Try one of these:

Juicy Watermelon: TFA Watermelon 7%, CAP Sweet Watermelon 2%, INW Cactus 2%, TFA Dragonfruit 1%, Ethyl Maltol 1%

Prickly Papaya: 2% INW Cactus, 1.5% TFA Papaya, 3% TFA Strawberry

Cactus Spike: 1% INW Cactus, 1% FA Watermelon, 3% TFA Strawberry, 1% TFA Dragonfruit

If you like one of those, try it a second time with about 0.5% Koolada added to it.

More than anything I'm looking for inspiration on what to use with this so just shoot some ideas at me. I don't have mint though and don't want to use it. I might point out some things I have on hand that's similar to a recommendation though.

Tfa honeysuckle and tfa cucumber

1 points

by cannibalnomadabout 9 years ago

Hey I'm not really sure if this will help you but maybe you would enjoy a crisp lemon and pear mix combined with subtle notes of cucumber and/or honeysuckle. If you've got blood orange or grapefruit those could be worked in possibly. Green apple?

Hey guys (and girls) I've been seeking out a recipe that tastes like chobani almond coco loco greek yogurt flips. If you haven't tried them you definitely need to, you'll fall in love. I'm fairly new to diy and I'm on the hunt now. It's sweetened coconut greek yogurt with honey roasted almond sliced and chunks of dark chocolate... it's an amazing treat, but if I could cape it I'd probably save 60$ a month on my grocery bill lol. Thanks!
