CAP Sugar Cookie [Flavor Review]
submitted about 9 years ago by wh1skeyk1ngDiketones, Schmiketones

Setup: Plume Veil RDA; dual parallel @ .40Ω; cotton wicks; 50W

Testing: CAP Sugar Cookie @ 5%; Aged: 20 days

Flavor description: Sweet, slightly buttery, slightly cinnamon and sugary snicker-doodle cookie type of taste with subtle notes of almonds or some sort of nuts. Not as dry/crunchy of a mouth feel as FA Cookie, but more like a thinner cookie baked so the outside crunches the slightest bit, yet the inside remains soft.

Off-flavors: I'm getting a bit of anise or strong dark spice, reminiscent of something like FA Nonna's Cake but nowhere NEAR as strong. I'd say it's easily tolerable in this concentrate.

Throat hit: 6/10

Uses: Pastries, cakes, pies, etc. There are many popular dessert recipes that use CAP Sugar Cookie at varying percentages. Check them out, or enjoy it standalone at a higher percentage.

Pairings: Various creams, graham cracker, nuts, cakes, tobaccos, some of your juicier fruit flavors. I'd say it's pretty tough to mess up a pairing with this flavor, just don't over-do it.

Notes: This flavor is a must have in your arsenal if you're into dessert-type mixes. Very versatile and also makes a great standalone flavor due to it's depth.

This is simply put one of my favorite flavorings, super versatile almost a replacement for yellow cake almost.

The versatilest! You can get it even closer to a YC replacement with the help of some TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust and FA Joy. Closer, but still not quite there, of course.

Thanks for another dandy review.

I have a couple of very simple recipes for you.

Sugar Cookie: CAP Sugar Cookie 8%, CAP Vanilla Custard V1 4%

These two go so well together. The VC turns the somewhat dry cookie into a cookie the way I like them: soft and buttery, with twice as much vanilla as the recipe calls for. It's kind of mean to vape this in public though, makes innocent bystanders lust after fresh-baked cookies.

Snickerdoodle Cookie: CAP Sugar Cookie 7%, CAP VC V1 3%, CAP Cinnamon Danish Swirl 3%, TFA Marshmallow 1%.

CAP Sugar Cookie pretty much begs to be made into a Snickerdoodle, right? The marshmallow helps smooth the rough edge off of CDS and makes the whole thing sweeter and more Snickerdoodly.

That first one sounds tasty. Also, that CDS is some rough stuff by itself, really needs something like Marshmallow, although I use the CAP version simply because I ordered 4oz of it.

I think using CAP's version would work just as well if not better for that Snickerdoodle, I used TFA's because I have 4oz of that and only a little bottle of CAP.

I made the first recipe a couple of days ago. It's really good, but I think I want a bit more vanilla in it. I'm going to mix another batch with a touch of CAP French Vanilla.

Someone who likes their cookies even more vanillafied than I do! I can dig it.

Haha yes I really like vanilla. Thanks for posting the recipe, I just bought sugar cookie in my last order and haven't had a chance to use it yet. I feel like I'll be playing around with this one for a while.

Just tried Snickerdoodle cookie. Straight away I'm getting a little too much of the cinnamon for my liking. Will let it sit for a few days to see if it mellows out. A good vape nonetheless. Would like to get a bit more of a creamy cookie so will try more custard and a touch of cream.

Thanks for feedback. It should mellow out more and more over the course of a week, but you might indeed like it even creamer and less cinnamony, which could easily be achieved by moving 1% from the CDS column over into the VC V1 column or by introducing 1% of CAP Sweet Cream or some other cream to the mix.

Will be sure to try that. Thanks for the tip. Great recipe.

I've just made the "Sugar Cookie: CAP Sugar Cookie 8%, CAP Vanilla Custard V1 4%" recipe, and how long did you wait for it to age nicely?

Thank you for the reply. Now it smells good, but it's kinda not right at the moment, i sense it needs some time to settle down the strong aromas so the background aromas pop more. Will definitely leave it for 2 weeks to see how the aromas are maturing. Will keep you posted :)

Update after a few days steep. Flavour has really developed. I'm now getting a toasted/baked cookie with slight touches of cinnamon and an overall creamy flavour on the exhale. Great vape.
