Band of Color- A Skittles Candy Vape
I have fallen in love with this recipe. If you look up the original skittles candy flavors you’ll find that there are a few flavor substitutes. That’s a plus for us as mixers because that means OPTIONS! I do feel that these are the flavors you should use in this recipe, but I do encourage you to play with the %’s to please your own vaping palate. Good Shake and Vape, better after 3-4 days when citrus settles.

Black Currant (FA) & Grapes (INW)- If you read the skittles flavor listing, the purple skittle can be either grape or blackcurrant. Well, when I smelled the black currant from the bottle I loved the darker rounder grape tones it brought to the table. At this amount, I thought it could gel nicely WITH the grape and make that solid “purple” flavor we all love. (INW) Grapes is such a nice candy grape flavor...it had to pair well with blackcurrant and this amount it doesn’t derail “purple” flavor or the rest of the mix.
Blood Orange (FW)- Yum. We all know how great this flavor is. It can go in fruity mixes, bakery mixes, cereal mixes, candy mixes, etc. Plus, all of the oranges I have are too “juicy” for this recipe. At this amount the flavor provides a sweet citrus pop in addition to blending with the entourage. Sweet, tangy, and “orange”
Italian Lemon Sicily (CAP)- I decided on this over some other lemon flavors because I like the mouthfeel and the soft sugary back end that reminds me of a yellow skittle. It only becomes a yellow skittle when you tweak it a bit. I’m also using this lemon because I don’t get too much bitterness from it and it blends soooo good with FLV Lime.
Lime (FLV)- The green skittle can be green apple or lime. When I got this flavor a while ago I thought, wow I love it, but what can I do with it besides vape it as a stand alone? Well I pulled it out again and when I took a whiff, “SKITTLES!” popped into my head. So I used this flavor as my canvas and really thought about how to work with it. It’s a very strong flavor, plus Flavorah has been a difficult flavor company for me to work with (LOVE their Lemonade). The smell reminds me of she shell of a green skittle. A bit like windex and sweetness. Bright, with hints of lime Italian soda. More like a lime freezy pop. So knowing that this was a strong one, I worked it in at this amount and am very happy. According to Skittles, the green skittle can be green apple or lime. Not in this recipe!
Red Touch Strawberry (FA) & Strawberry (TPA)- I worked on this a bit. Going through my strawberry flavorings nothing really hit the mark. Some where too ripe, and some where too fresh. Shisha Strawberry has bubblegum note to me. So I blended these two and am quite happy. The Touch adds the top brighter note that punches through. Strawberry TPA is a bit warmer and sweeter to me, providing the softness of the candy shell on skittles. Neither are too sweet, too ripe, or too tart, but highlight what the red skittle is.
Sucralose & Ethyl Malthol- YES! I have been adding these to a few of my recipes. This one really needs them. The EM rounds out all the popp’n citrus, and all the bright notes. It’s there to aid in the blend. The Sucralose is a MUST too. It gives the recipe the candy sweetness it truly needs, but is not as sweet as commercial or premium skittles juices out there.
This is tasty and smells and tastes very similar to skittles. I recommend dropping the black currant to like 0.25 though as it takes over the mix a bit, it's a very strong flavor and I'm not very fond of it myself as its kind of bitter. Then maybe up the INW grapes to like 0.75-1%. I actually only used .75% black currant and it's still a bit potent.
Mixing this with INW Lime. Will report back
How is INW lime? Its the only lime I haven't tried yet, i'm still on a quest to figure out which lime element eliquid uses for their key lime cookie.
This is great, does the limes/lemons make VG thin? For some reason this recipe turned out thin as water, but jesus, it tastes just like skittles.
It shouldn't be thin at all. I make it 30pg/70vg and it's all gravy baby. Make sure you shake your flavors, maybe they have settled a bit. And double check your e-calculator before mixing up. The lemons and limes are no prob for me either. Let me know what happens, glad you like!
Pretty sure I screwed up somewhere along the way then, will throw that bottle and start over. But it tasted amazing, so great job on the flavorprofile. I always shake flavors right before i mix, and shake the living jesus out of the bottle afterwards. And shake it every other day when I remember to look inside the cabinet, until it looks like it's homogenized. Then I shake some more right before i use it, to make sure everything is mixed yet again. So pretty sure I overlooked something on this particular mix then. Thanks for the answer.
Edit: And thanks for the recipe and the notes.
So I just got into DIY. I ordered supplies last week, and they just got here. My wife for whatever only vapes skittles. She got hooked on Mt. Baker's skittles, then started using Vape Wild's version. I always thought they tasted super chemy/alcoholish, and just generally not great.
I bought supplies to make this as one of my first mixes. I just mixed it with all ingredients in the recipe, except I used Lime Tahity Distilled (FA) in place of the Lime (FLV), since I ordered from WL and they didn't have that lime flavor.
I must say, this is great. In my opinion it's better than any skittles she's vaped, and it's delicious. I'm hoping she enjoys it as much as I am right now. I'll update when she gives it a go.
Also, this is after shake and vape, so I'm betting it'll be even better when the flavors meld more.
