People over at the DIYORDIE Mixers Collective FB group seem to be interested in this recipe so I figured I'd post it here for those that avoid social media. Direct copy/paste from my FB post w/ some redditing.
Alrighty people. Time to give you my most prized recipe- Peanut Butter Banana.
Maybe 40 iterations until I got it just right. Sadly, the day I perfected this recipe my friend Nici's grandmother died so I dedicated it to her.
I present Nici's Nana.

TFA Ripe Banana 2%
-
TFA Peanut Butter 6%
-
TFA Milk Chocolate 2%
-
TFA Banana Cream 6%
-
TFA Sweet Cream 2%
-
TFA Graham Cracker(Clear) 2%
I personally mix this at max VG, which due to having 20% flavor is perfect for me. I've been told by a few friends that mixing at a higher PG concentration brings out the Ripe Banana like crazy.
Obviously this is to my taste but I've never met anyone who doesn't dig it. I approached this flavor from a food standpoint- what goes well with peanut butter? With banana? Then after I made the list, I matched only the items on the list that could go together in pairs. Milk chocolate is good with just banana, just graham cracker, etc. with each item. Here's my notes on it:
-
TFA Ripe Banana / Banana Cream - Ripe is, in my opinion, the strongest banana flavor on the market. The only issue being is that its hard to balance. I feel 2% is more than enough to give you that sweet pop that a banana gives through a giant dollop of peanut butter. The Banana Cream at 6% lends to the creamy note that's so hard to nail that rounds out the overall banana taste. You'll taste this most in the inhale but it lingers just long enough to make the exhale dream-like.
-
TFA Peanut Butter - Yet another flavor that's difficult to balance, 6% is enough to be prevalent amongst all the flavors while maintaining the balance with all the others. That all too familiar creamy mouth feel peanut butter leaves behind is super noticeable in the exhale and for a few moments afterwards.
-
TFA Milk Chocolate - This is what made the recipe start to take shape. I tried caramels, butterscotch, damn near everything because I assumed chocolate would overwhelm the flavor. The chocolate is noticeable throughout but merely serves as a throne for the peanut butter and banana to shine from. I prefer 2% but some may wish to back it down to 1-1.5% but doing so will cause the banana to come out considerably more and IMO lowering the flavor makes it less enjoyable.
-
TFA Sweet Cream - I love this stuff. If I'm looking for a creamy taste, this is my first stop. Combined with all the over flavors, I feel 2% smoothes everything out and lends itself to the overall body. I've been playing with switching this out with a cheesecake to make the obvious but I'm not happy with the results.
-
TFA Graham Cracker(Clear) - I find that this stuff can add great balance to any dessert flavor. This ended up being the ingredient that seemed to connect all the pieces for me. I even use this is stuff in my strawberry milk recipe lol.
Sorry if this is way longer than a normal post but this flavor means a ton to me because of how long it took to perfect. You can shake and vape or let it sit for 5-7 days to allow all the flavors to make love in the bottle which only lends to the insane creamy mouth feel and while it slightly dulls the chocolate, it's not in a bad thing. It just seems to help everything pop a bit more without being as prevalent. Let me know what you think!
Don't apologize for providing too much information :) Those who don't care will just skip past it anyway. Looking at someone else's recipe, it's always useful to hear the reasoning behind the components and expected outcome, so you can better gauge if it will be to your liking, tweak if necessary and understand what substitutions may work. Might also teach you something new or give inspiration. So good job on the details!
That is soooooo much ripe banana. Interesting recipe, thanks for sharing
I would mix this but I don't have TFA Ripe Banana. Maybe I'll try FW Banana.
Ripe Banana is key for the sweetness you want from a banana. I'm not sure about FW's concentrate so it may turn out different.
It's a candied banana, like tfa ripe banana. Should work fine.
Do you have FW Banana Nut Bread by any chance? I love the banana flavor in that, wondering if it's similar but probably not.
I do. Don't get it. It's black as tar. It has an odd astringent taste. And it's probably not great to vape.
I've just made this, exactly as you suggested at 70/30VG, 3MG nic, used PG Nic and wow, just wow. I tried shake and vape just to test to see what it's like, and now I wait the two weeks, REALLY nice flavour (if you like Banana!), I'm SO looking forward to testing this in two weeks, I'll report back then, if I can wait that long!
Just curious, did you try TFA Double Chocolate Clear before you settled on TFA Milk Chocolate?
I love peanut butter & banana in real life and always wanted an eliquid version. Only thing is, I've all but binned my ripe banana flavoring because of how grassy it tastes, and generally I find banana very overpowering, so does it stand forward a lot in this recipe?
I subbed the milk chocolate for INW chocolate cream (only chocolate I have other than double chocolate clear) and banana ripe for INW banana (only banana I have) and was pleasantly surprised with the results. I feel that some ry4 double could make this absolutely perfect.
Wow 6% peanut butter. I mixed a PB&J at I think 4% pb and I swear I could taste it in my eyeballs. :)
Everything else in this recipe greatly enhances all the good qualities of the peanut butter and doesn't bring that "My asshole can taste it" flavor intensity that it can bring if overused and left unbalanced lol
Care to share the PB&J recipe?
The only recipe I can find is after I tried using some super concentrates that normally only require 1-2%.
0.5% Peanut butter
2% raspberry
1% Graham cracker (fw)
Mix well, steep for at least a day or two. Try in a dripper that is easy to clean as it will taint everything, vape in a well ventilated area with an unobstructed path to somewhere you can retch and regret your decision while trying to deep throat a garden hose.
Can you grab maybe 1ml of this juice and dilute it with another 1ml of VG, then report on how that tastes? I'm thinking you might be exceeding the point of diminishing returns for percentage of overall flavoring, which is why you are using so much of that super strong banana. I use 80/20 and still rarely go above 10% on most TFAs; usually no higher than 7% unless it's real mild (like bavarian cream flavors might go a bit more). I wanna know if it's good at basically half of everything. And it's a super easy test that might improve and reduce the cost of your juice, so. :) Even if I'm completely wrong, I'd like to hear about the result.
I generally try to have less than 10% flavoring but the only way to get exactly what I was trying to get was to bump the flavors. I promise, make a 10ml of it, give it an insane shake and vape away. If it's too much flavor for anyone I would be absolutely surprised.
EDIT- I regularly vape at 2-400 watts and you know that much power can really make unbalanced flavors taste miserably awful. It's just right.
I don't have the graham cracker right now or that exact chocolate, but I hadn't played with the TFA ripe banana much, so I decided to make something banana/ ice cream (modern ice cream, not a custard, so basically just buttery banana with vanilla flavor) after reading this. My own use of banana turned out to be 2.5%, so your 2% is good. I mean just commenting based on that guy who called it "sooo much ripe banana". I was just concerned about the liquid being 20% flavorings, but then again, at those watts, probably more than enough power to handle it. Almost makes me wish we had more discussion of the wattages each DIY mixer uses, because it affects the flavor quantities needed pretty drastically.
This looks like a great translation of a Peanut Butter Moo'd from Jamba Juice (PB, chocolate, banana, and vanilla ice cream smoothie)! I'm going to have to give it a shot, thanks for sharing
Too long, didn't read. But what's the strongest banana flavor on the market?
Medicine Flower Banana is the same as {Lotus Flavors Banana at ecigexpress}
Expensive and quite concentrated. One reviewer mentioned six drips per 30ml.
