I've mixed some of the recipies but haven't purchased the concentrates. It's of course easier to just buy the concentrate if you want the flavor to be exact and if you want to easily change the overall flavor % in your juice. Plus you don't have to buy flavors that you may not use again or at least won't use for a while. I think of the concentrate as more a convenience. I chose to mix it on my own to tailor them more to my flavor profile though. They are bomb ass recipies/flavors either way you go about it.
You can visit Wayne's website or his YouTube channel for a full description of what's in the concentrates (they're just premixed versions of his recipes) and why he chose those particular flavourings. They're all good - if you like that sort of thing, that is. (Remember, it doesn't matter if something is the best damned raspberry juice EVAR if you can't stand raspberries.) Seeing what's under the hood should help you make up your mind, and help you decide whether the convenience of a premixed concentrate - not having to have all of the individual flavourings, being able to get away with slightly sloppier measuring, time savings, etc. - is worth it. There are no secrets there, just the magic of dedicated trial-and-error by someone who's put in the time and care to learn the craft.
Just look up reviews of the juice recipes themselves here in /r/DIY_eJuice/ or elr, tons of people talking about them. Making the juice by mixing the ingredients yourself will taste the exact same as the premixed flavors.
Personally I like having all the flavors so I can tweak it here and there to suit my taste.
They are actually flavor bases. Not flavors you mix other things with. So just add PG, VG and nic

As far as I know, flavour base is referred to the main profile in the recipe. E.g. cake can be a flavour base, with icing and cream being the accent notes.

What do you do? You create a Flavor base. A strawberry flavor base. The strawberry that you begin most of your strawberry DIY creations with.
My personal favorite is 3% TFA Ripe Strawbery, 3% JF Strawberry Sweet, 1% MF Strawberry.
Yes this is exactly what I was referring to. Haven't watched Wayne's video yet though, here is the particular threads I'm referring to from /u/Vurve and /u/matthewkocanda.
Notice how the recipe is broken down in base, background notes, accent notes. So if the base is part of the recipe, it only makes sense to me to call the pre-mixed recipe without VG and nic either a one-shot concentrate/pre-mix/pre-steep (as far as I know pre-steeping is a technique in juice making which consists of pre-mixing certain flavours or your entire recipe before mixing with nic and dilutants to alter the end result)
At least in this community, a flavor base is a recipe mixed up without PG, VG and nic, just the flavors. It doesn't have to be the complete recipe, as in the case of a cake base, that you mix with other flavors later. The purpose is simply to speed up the process of mixing when making the same recipe or foundation of a recipe over and over again.
I bought all of them, but have only used Rosky Milk so far. Turned out great, it is nice to not have to worry about finding each and every flavor. However, it is a lot more expensive per ml then buying the individual flavors. For example the 120 ml I made using the 'concentrate'(aka flavor base) cost me $8-9. 120 ml if I purchase individual flavors costs between $3-4. So it can be 2-3 times more expensive, but it is convenient and thoughtless to whip up a batch. I think it will be a great way for people to get started with DIY before moving on to using individual flavors.
I just bought the funfetti og 30ml mix off ecigexpress will be in hopefully the next two days will mix it up and let you know and I love cake VAPES so this is a must for me
I was thinking of picking some up to give to some friends to get them into vaping but ecigexpress has like $40 shipping to Australia.
I think the Rhodonite concentrate would be pretty good considering that it costs $10 and makes 300ml and it's critically acclaimed, he also sells Bronuts in the UK.
OP, they're also not really 'flavors' as in I wouldn't use them with anything because they're all the flavors of those recipes premixed for you.
Ordered PRY4 latest version as PRY4 V1 is my favorite recipe. Rhodonyte is apparantly his best recipe so I bought that one as well. I figured it a good basseline test before I go through the pain of gathering all the ingredients.
Not a bad investment and probably good to the DIY cause. Still waiting for the stuff to arrive though. I have bad experience with UK deliveries. Customs is all over that shit for some reason.
I just mixed pry4 v1 using 50-50 base instead of 70-30. It smells more like almond/marzipan and vapes more like pistachio, but I find pistachio to be a bit overwhelming. Is that how it is supposed to be? I'd like to buy some but not if it's so heavy on flavor.
On the PRY4V1: It is defenately heavy. Mixed up 30 ml about six times already and just mixed three more. I use it to balance out the sweetness of all the other good (mostly american) recipes I've been trying so far.
I also mix PRYV1 at 20 or 18 mg nic. Usually 65/35 VG/PG and I feel a 10% margin of error/adjustment can be applied to the original total amount of flavor base and VG/PG ratio.
I tried to lower the amount of double RY4 (TFA) from .95 to .60 for 30 ml but that fucked up the flavor.
Maybe try a 10 ml test with less pistachio? I get a new flavor sensation lately which somehow reminds me of the iodine saltiness of laphroaig whiskey. I also don't like it. The only thing that changed was a different kind of bottle of TPA pistachio (glass instead of plastic) So you might be on to something.
Still have to mix up the premixes. Just got the mixes in today. I´ll have to get back to you on that one.
I like the convenience and they are not a lot more expensive than buying the stuff separately. Funfetti is pretty awesome, Rhodonite is good. PistachioR4Y is not really my taste and Bronuts is awful for me :) Somehow chefsflavours has bronuts instead of the other one that is available at ecigexpress
I bought Rhodonite simply because I couldn't get inawera raspberry anywhere without paying a ton in shipping. Holy shit it's amazing. And 30mls will make 300mls of juice so it's not much more expensive than buying the separate ingredients. I've mixed some of his other recipes too, pistachio ry4u is still my fave but Rhodonite is a close second and couldn't have been more convenient.
Ok so I got the diyordie confetti og flavor concentrate in of course I mixed it up with 70/30 and I mixed it at 10% so my final was a 30 ml of 60/40 first taste and man I got the joy flavor hard. That old stale 🍺 taste maybe it needs a steep imngiving it a warm bath now so hopefully I can steep that flavor out or mellow it. Because it litterly is all I taste. I will keep you posted
That recipe definitely benefits from a nice long steep. I wasn't a fan of it like 3-4 days in, came back to it 1.5 weeks later and was loving it. The pre-mix concentrate may need less steeping though since the flavorings already have a chance to mingle.
