Being a new commenter, I didn't format or submit my previous post properly, so I think this is what everyone was asking for? If anyone knows anything I should do differently feel free to let me know. I promise I won't cry ;) Maybe...lol
Please understand these are just my opinions, and I have only been mixing for about 8 months. I hope it helps. These flavors really do need at least a 4 week steep to fully develop the flavors. VG just doesn't carry the flavor like PG. However, even using higher percentages, if they are single flavors it's not using any more flavoring than they usual 15-20% of combines flavors that is commonly used with a lot of flavoring. These are not super concentrated like INW or FA.
Vanilla Custard
- Used 10% @ 1 week steep. Sweet vanilla cream. Very mild, not rich. Not surprised, as it's custard and only been 1 week. No eggy taste to this, more cream than custard. Good, but not memorable. I like it as a vanilla cream type accent flavor, but need more from a custard. Will try again at 4 weeks, it needs steeping for sure. Might need to go 12-15% on this one for SF. I will update and rate after further steeping.
- At a 4 week steep. The flavor has really improved on this. I would still not call it a custard, but it's a very creamy instant vanilla pudding. No egginess and still not rich. Nice sweet vanilla. Not super strong, good strength in the RDA, I think it would be too mild at 10% in a tank. I would aim for 12-15% SF for tanks. Not sure in a mix, probably start at 4% and go from there. I would not vape this as a custard, more as a mixer, this isn't even in the category of Capellas. It's good though and similar to vanilla swirl, but a better version imho.
Would you see this more as a FLV Vanilla Custard rather than CAP Vanilla Custard V1? CAP's custards just taste awful to me no matter how long I steep, but FLV's Vanilla Custard caresses my tastebuds like a lover.
Yes, this is closer to Flavorahs. Not as good though to me though, not as strong. Flavorah is better. Tastes nothing like Caps, much closer to Vanilla pudding. But if you are looking for a variety for layering to go with your FLV it might work?
Caps V1 makes me sick to my stomach, love V2 though. Some of the best Custards you can buy use V2 . V2 sells out everywhere , sold out at ECX again.
I'll give it a shot, cheers for the info. Hearing that it makes you feel crappy makes me want to try your rec. Odd logic but worth it.
Thanks. These kinds of posts are the bread and butter of this sub. Hopefully all useful flavors will have at least one detailed evaluation eventually.
I'll probably pass on this flavor. So far I haven't found anything that beats CAP VC1 for richness. The CAP custard also adds a hefty "bass note" to the base note, giving the vapor a thickness to the mouthfeel and throat hit that I haven't been able to get with other flavors. Recently got a shipment from ecigexpress where they subbed V2 for my order of V1... Wow. It's night and day. V2 is like a sucralose custard-fart... There's none of the creamy richness, just a fake-fakey taste like something fake and artificially sweetened...
Yes, I'm a custard lover to, and CAPS V1 is that rich heavy dense yummy custard. This is more Vanilla Swirl, custard notes removed. Good for people that like a lighter more pudding like custard or creamy mixer. I don't think I will be ordering it either, unless I start using it in place of Vanilla Swirl. Depends on how well further testing comes out ;)
So this custard would probably be perfect if used with another custard?
It might. I haven't tried it yet, but it's too mild too me as is. It might add some creamy sweet light low notes to "lighten" up a custard, but that is just a guess as I haven't layered it yet. I do like to layer custard flavors as well, so that is probably where I will be using it. It really does remind me of TFA Vanilla Swirl with a little more dominant vanilla.
