Serially Easy Lemon Bar

What up.

Still lazy, still mixin'.

##Serially Easy Lemon Bar

^^^^Follow ^^^^me ^^^^for ^^^^more ^^^^Cereally/Serially ^^^^Easy ^^^^recipes ^^^^in ^^^^the ^^^^future ^^^^;)

This isn't my first attempt at a lemon bar recipe. All other attempts used on average 9 flavors, and they all fell flat. I'm learning through this lazy approach to mixing that a lot of times, simpler is better. Instead of tasting 3 different lemons on a bed of 4 creams with graham cracker, you get your fuckin' lemon, your fuckin' cream, and your fuckin' graham cracker. Really the hardest part of these recipes is writing the fuckin' post for you filthy casuals <3

Let's get to the nitty-gritty.

TFA Bavarian Cream- This flavor is a staple to the Cereally/Serially Easy line of recipes. It's really just so simple to use, and if you fuck up your percentages, it's extremely forgiving. If you don't have a 4oz bottle of this sitting in your supplies, you're doing something wrong.

CAP Italian Lemon Sicily- I wanted a powerful lemon that balanced candy with reality, without the harshness of other citrus. This was a tossup between using FLV Lemonade or CAP Italian Lemon Sicily. In the end, I'm glad I went with CAP, but feel free to sub at the same percentage with FLV Lemonade.

CAP Graham Cracker- Yet another tossup, it was between TFA Graham Cracker Clear and CAP Graham Cracker. I went with CAP because it has more cinnamon flavor, and I like the way it goes with lemon. Feel free to sub in TFA Graham Cracker Clear at the same percentage, if the cinnamon in CAP's comes out a bit too strong.

Oh yeah, here's the recipe:

  • 4% CAP Italian Lemon Sicily
  • 6% TFA Bavarian Cream
  • 2% CAP Graham Cracker

Add 1% TFA Sweetener or equivalent sucralose dilution if you so desire.

Damn! Seems I'm always missing something. Looks good though, glad to see you're being super cereal with these new recipes.

I love all things lemon! But no Cap Lemon - I've got FA Sicily, FE lemon, INW lemon concentrate, mix and shisha, fw lemonade.

do you know if Cap Sicily is that different from FA?

Cap is sweeter and more candy like.

Ah, okay. I'll try it with FE lemon then, which is what I use in a lemonhead-type recipe. Thanks!

Haha, me too man. I swore I read FA Lemon Sicily and was about to mix this up when I got home until reading your comment. No lemon CAP for me either.... Actually no lemon anything except FA. Not a big. Lemon fan, only got the Lemon Sicily to try and be like the cool kids and make my fruits "pop" more. Lol

Average 7 here, but otherwise samesies.

Time to add CAP Italian Lemon Sicily to my list of things to order next.

It's like a lemonhead with some fresh lemon thrown in.

Not doing anything wrong as TFA is extortionately expensive to buy here at $5 for 15ml and I refuse to pay those prices. How much different to sub CAP BC for TFA BC?

by Elab0r8about 9 years ago

Just for you, and the fact that I have cap bc to hand, I subbed it at 4%, wasn't brave enough for 6% due to the fear of cheesy socks. I also used FA Lemon Sicily @ 4.5% (don't have tfa), seems pretty delicious right off the bat.

Cheers for that. I'll give it a go at 4%.

I did, but don't want to give my word in case it becomes too difficult to accomplish.

Plenty. If you think I'm batching these recipes out and perfecting them, you're gonna be disappointed.

Just gave this one a try I subbed CAP Italian Lemon Sicily for FA Lemon Sicily because its what I have on hand. I'll let you know how it turns out! Thanks for the share.

So.. how'd it turn out?

1 points

by touchmyborkalmost 9 years ago

Its actually one of my favorites, Its light and not too overwhelming. Its steeps nicely over time and gets more nutty. I just mixed up a 240ml batch probably vape it until its done and then order some FA Lemon Sicily. Mix it up and give that a try. I'm sure it will probably end up being pretty close overall.

What's the steep time on this one mate?

1 points

by skiddlzninjaabout 9 years agoThat one moderator. You know, the honey guy.

It's a lazy mix, don't care about steep time, or steeping in general

Looks delicious! Would Lemon Sicily FA work with this?

by BuryMeInSmokeabout 9 years ago

Mixed this 24h ago and just put a few mLs in a tank, very nice recipe mate.

I'd been trying to use CAP Lemon Sicily in fruity mixes, but seems like it's better suited to bakery type flavours.

Might try another version of this with a little less Bavarian Cream and a bit of FA Meringue - could make a nice Lemon Meringue Pie.

Just came across this post cause i decided to jump back into DIY. Can I use TPA Cheesecake (Graham Crust) as a sub for graham cracker? (i know, i know, not the same, but im broke. I'm just wondering if this wont turn a good recipe into a cancer inducing one)

It should still be good
