Alright, I know I have quite a few clones I'm working on right now, but I still reserve the right to work on my own stuff to take a break from them. Tasting the same 4-5 flavor notes over and over and over can be quite tedious and dulling to the senses.
So, I decided to work on an old recipe I threw together for a friend of a friend, but never took the time to perfect. Well, after about 2 weeks of working on it again, it's finally there.
I present to you:
Vanilla Almond Milk|% ---|--- TFA Vanilla Swirl|3 FA Almond|1.5 FA Vienna Cream|1 FA Meringue|1 INW Shisha Vanilla|0.5 FW Hazelnut|0.25 INW Marzipan|0.125
I definitely grabbed a strong amount of influence from Wayne's milk based recipes. The way the Hazelnut and Marzipan play with the creams creates a strong malty flavor that is especially important in this recipe. If you've ever had almond milk, you know it's super thick and creamy with a strong nutty and malty background. And we definitely are not making the unsweetened stuff today. This is going to be that sweetened and thick almond milk that sticks to your lips you can still taste hours after you had your last glass.
#The Base/Top Notes
- TFA Vanilla Swirl/FA Almond/FA Vienna Cream
These three flavors combined do a freaking fantastic job of creating the base you are going to taste throughout the whole vape, from inhale to exhale. Without any strong overwhelming top notes, this combination of flavors does a great job taking the place of the top notes and it's the first thing you taste. Almond and sweetened milk.
I tried leaving Vanilla Swirl out, including subbing it for other things like CAP Vanilla Custard V1, CAP NY Cheesecake, TFA Bavarian Cream, but nothing else worked. The beauty of TFA Vanilla Swirl is that it's just so basic. I don't use it as much as I once did, but it truly shines in this recipe by throwing down a very basic and neutral creamy base that is loaded with vanilla. This flavor allows us to layer other flavors on top of it without it disturbing the other flavors too much. It's very close to vanilla pudding in taste.
FA Almond is by far the best almond I've tasted so far. This was a no brainer. It's mostly dry but still takes to creams very well. It's also a very well balanced almond making it a good base. Not too strong on the inhale, not too weak on the exhale. Just perfect for something like this.
A lot of the milkyness is coming from the Vienna Cream in this recipe. It's like drinking a glass of sweetened milk. I tried CAP Sweet Cream in place of this flavor, but the recipe fell flat on it's face. The flavor is CAP Sweet Cream is overwhelming a sugary whipped cream. Vienna Cream is just so much more natural. This does need a longer steep time than most creams though.
#The Background
- INW Marzipan/INW Shisha Vanilla/FA Meringue/FW Hazelnut
A nice sweetened, nutty, and malty exhale. Oh my god, these 4 flavors hit the note perfectly.
INW Marzipan does magical things to this recipe, and it shouldn't be any surprise why it's being used here. If you look at the flavor review for it, /u/InfinityFractal nailed the description perfectly. Sweetened almond milk. Yes please. There is a subtle cherry taste to this flavor, but almonds naturally have that flavor, so it works. This recipe by no means tastes like a Cherry Almond Milk. The FA Almond backs up this flavor perfectly to push the cherry to the background and make it taste natural.
FA Meringue gives us a nice powdered sugar sweetness. It's also somewhat milky in texture. Not much else to say here.
The backbone of the malt, which is also contributing to the overall milk flavor, is coming from FW Hazelnut. Definitely took this tip straight from Wayne, but I didn't find the need to use it as high as 1% like he did. It started to impart too much malt that competed with the nuttiness from INW Marzipan and FA Almond.
INW Shisha Vanilla was the missing ingredient. A super sweet ungodly powerful and amazing vanilla flavor. With just a touch of molasses, it really brings this whole recipe full circle and gives us that vanilla flavor that is very familiar to almond milk, in combination with the other background notes.
#Steep Time
1-2 weeks
A long steep is definitely optimal to let the almond blend with the cream to give you a more authentic almond milk flavor, but if you know how I mix, I was definitely vaping this from day 1. And yes, it's very good day 1.
This by /u/crosstown_rebel is pretty similiar, and I vaped a lot of it when he first posted it. I like this variation too, I'll try it if I ever pick up that Shisha. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the shout brotha man coop! Hope thems flavas is treating you right, just like I would if I could hold you and caress you every night before bed for making me some juice in a pinch :)
Awesome dude, thanks for posting this! I've been wanting to work on a vanilla almond milk for a while, but never really got around to it. I'll have to try it with subbing in FA Marzipan, but gives me a really good raisin to pick up the INW Marzipan I've been eyeballing for some time!
My pleasure! Anything I can do to bring BCV more business 😊
I'm not sure if anybody else has experienced this problem yet. Bcv recently switch their free shipping to FedEx. (FedEx sucks) my last order took twice as long as normal to get here.
I just had this with my last BCV order. Woof, Fedex took their sweet time. Next time I'm biting the bullet and just paying for shipping. Seeing as I wanted to get some RF on my next order and my inquiries regarding when they would or if they would be carrying RF were ignored I'll have to order elsewhere next time around anyway.

Oh hell yes, a profile I've been wanting to try AND I have all the flavors for it must be my lucky day. Thanks Vurve!
Ok so I just mixed this and I'm puffing on it now. It tastes like good almond milk, my preferred almond milk is by Simple Truth (because I think Silk and Almond Breeze are gross) and it tastes a lot like their Vanilla Almond Milk. Considering that I'm not usually a fan of creamy or nutty mixes I'd say you knocked it out of the park. I can't wait until this gets a good steep on it. Thanks so much!
Damn, I have everything but Shisha Vanilla.
I'll probably sub it out with something just to see anyways.
DIYFS Holy Vanilla would probably be an acceptable substitute if you have that.
Nopers. :(
CAP Fench Vanilla is probably the only pure vanilla I have.
Would using FA's Marzipan change the profile or could I sub it in?
I've definitely been craving cream vapes. I made my friend a huge batch of them and when I visited, he let me try a Strawberry and Cream mix I made. Good god, I created heaven in a bottle. (but I'm still playing with it because I'm changing one percentage or might try FLV Strawberry when I order it). I have to let it steep for a week or so though so I'm looking for other mixes I can let steep with it.
EDIT: Read the comments, definitely trying it with FA's at .5 or so.
This recipe looks incredible and I'm only missing 3 flavors to make it.
The only problem is that my preferred vendor only has FA Marzipan, not INW Marzipan. Do you know if that would work as a substitute?
In doing research on which Marzipan I should buy, it seems that they are both pretty similar, so I picked FA Marzipan since it was $2 cheaper. That said, it seems like INW might make the better marzipan.
I've had a single flavor test steeping for a while and pretty sure I need to try it at different %s to really get a good idea on how to use it effectively. If you do sub it, I would probably bring the FA Marzipan a bit higher. Maybe .3 or .5 to start. I tested at 3% just out of curiosity, and I don't get a whole lot of flavor from it, but it is a nice nutty sweetness with a touch of cherry (which might not be dectable in lower %s)
Edit: Keep in mind, any time you sub something, it's not the same recipe.
I too only have flavor Arts offering I have subbed it out in a few of Wayne's recipes that slightly higher percentages and had very good results. Mixing tonight so will definitely have to give this one a shot.
I noticed that inw marzipan is alot stronger than fa marzipan. They seem about the same to me but one is weaker then the other.
You'll have to be the judge of that.
Try it as a single flavor, and if it tastes like sweetened almond milk, I give it a green light to sub.
FA marzipan is far better than INW, forget the hype with INW marzipan, the recipe should be better with FA.
But fa marzipan has so much cherry in it...
Excuse me??? Cherry??? were the hell do you taste cherry in FA marzipan??? or in INW marzipan??? Will all due respect as a mixer do taste each one, and then tell me witch one is best, please taste then on its own. Theres no cherry in either one. PS: respect to @vurve and @trainceinate By the way Madagascar Vanilla and Bourbon Vanilla from FA are two distinte flavors and are very diferent from each other.
I have everything except for the Marzipan, what alternatives would you recommend so I can make this tomorrow?
That's a tough call.
If you don't have FA Marzipan, I would rather just leave it out altogether rather than try to sub it.
Thank you! Tried with with FA marzipan. On day 1 it is for me too much "sugary" and I do not really feel the almond. Gonna wait 1 week.
