Peach
submitted over 9 years ago by Jorakae

I love peach. If you've ever tried Crystal Light's diet peach iced tea or Lipton's diet peach iced tea (in the glass jar) - from the powdered mix, this is peach flavor profile I want to replicate. If you haven't tried it, the tea flavor is negligible in these beverages, mostly a very strong deep, rich, and delicious peach. Both are not very authentic to a true peach flavor, but in my opinion taste better. They do use artificial sweetener which does give it a sweet, but not sugary sweet taste, with just the right amount of sour to give it a perfect balance.

I have Inawera Peach and Wera Garden Peach which both smell like they should be in the right direction, but using these flavors as stand-alones, or even mixing them together I can't seem to produce anything worthwhile.

I've tried various percentages from 2-5%. At 2%, it was barely noticeable, mostly VG flavor with a hint of peach, even after steeping. At 5% it was initially a strong, more chemical taste, but after a month of steeping completely fell flat. You could tell it was a kind of peach flavor, but if I didn't tell you what it was, you probably wouldn't be able to identify it.

Has anyone been able to do anything with Inawera Peach or Wera Garden peach as a single flavor, and if so, could you guide me in the right direction?

If these two flavors are unusable, which brand/flavor would get me closest to that of the Lipton or Crystal Light peach flavor profile?

Edit* Just wanted to say, thank you all for your contributions to this post. I've spent a lot of time lurking, reading, and learning without posting and I received a far greater response to this than I expected. It only makes me value being a part of this community even more. Cheers, and may the clouds and flavors be with you all.

I drink a lot of lipton peach tea. The non-diet version.

Wanna know how to make it? 16 ounces Arizona Sweet Tea into 3 drops of FLV Peach at the bottom of a cup. Bam. Tastes just like it.

So, you're looking for FLV Peach, mate. INW Peach (Not Wera Garden, haven't tried it yet) is a bit off from Lipton I think. You could clone Publix Peach Tea with INW, though.

I'd bet you're right about which flavor to get closest to lipton peach tea (or working real hard to earn the next batch of free FLV samples).

I didn't think of that because my main concern was that he said he couldn't really taste INW Peach At 2%. That's not normal.

Cheaper than FA at ECX ;p

I'm beginning to suspect for whatever reason, my scale was off or I simply measured incorrectly somehow in those earlier mixes. Unfortunately, I live in Thailand and getting flavor concentrates here is more difficult than it should be - and vaping is banned. I just recently acquired a nice collection of Capella, but it didn't come cheap or easy. I just started working with FA directly and their logistics department to see what they could do for me, and they have been extremely helpful. I will reach out to FLV next.

I have no reason to drink diet drinks at all, other than I just prefer that aspartame kind of sweetness. For me the non-diet version is just too sweet. I just checked the ingredients of the non-diet version and it looks like they use citric acid instead of malic acid in the diet version. It is looking more like all things are pointing to malic acid as the magic ingredient I'm missing.

Eh, I doubt it. Try FLV Peach first before you start delving into acids. They're extremely easy to overdue & not ad magical as you think. Look around for /u/abdada's recent acidulant posts in this sub.

Excellent write up by /u/abdaba, thanks for the link. I mentioned it in reply to ID10-T below, but living in Thailand flavor concentrates are difficult to source and import. Before I saw your post, I was just checking with the local food chem supplier and the minimum I can buy is 1kg of malic acid for $6. Seems ridiculously cheap, but no idea what I'd do with 1kg... I will see what I can do to get some of that FLV peach.

Something else is wrong. INW Peach to me tastes like a fresh, natural peach at 1.5%, an excellent standalone peach flavor, and starts to taste a little like peach rings candy at 3%. I'm guessing 2% would be about right for you. I have some odd perceptions of flavors and like some things that many others don't, but I think this is one I could get plenty of agreement on here. Granted, this is shake and vape or at the most a week, maybe it does fall completely flat after a month. But I think something else is wrong, something to do with your mixing method or equipment or olfactory system, something.

There are people who can't taste strawberry in vaping. I've never heard of this with peach, but maybe you're the peach version of a strawberry non-taster.

Yep. I use it between 1%-2%. This is the most realistic peach,IMO.

FA Yellow Peach is also good. More like canned peaches, for me.

You mean White Peach

Sorry. I guess it's not called yellow Peach. Just Peach.

White peach is good too. Helps brighten the darker notes

He said canned peaches, not fresh juicy white peaches.

I'm just going to follow you around all day annoying you, ok?

Do you use EM or sweeteners? I'm not sure where I am going wrong. I use a digital scale, USP VG/PG, usually targeting somewhere between 60/40 or 70/30 ratios. I get the smell of peach, but the taste to me is not what I would call an outstanding peach. It seems to lack any sort of intensity and depth for me.

I love the flavor of peach in the aforementioned beverages, so I know I can taste peach just fine. I have tried other commercially made peach juices which also tasted fine, some even great.

I don't think I do anything out of the ordinary, literally measure out my flavoring, add nic, vg/pg, and most times I just let it steep for a few days. Occasionally if I'm not feeling too lazy, I'll throw it on my magnetic mixer for an hour or so, then bottle it up and let it steep. Both ways haven't produced anything I would want to keep in my tank for long.

Nothing would make me happier though to find out what I'm doing wrong so I can get a great peach ADV. But, now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I didn't shake my concentrates before mixing. Might have to have another crack at it again.

Do I use EM or sweeteners? Sometimes, but not for single-flavor testing. All of this sounds good. The people who say they can't taste strawberry vapes can also taste it just fine in beverages and such, I think, but you taste it in commercial peach juices, so that's not your problem. Everything you're doing sounds fine. You're not heat-steeping or steeping with the cap off or any of that nonsense, right?

Shake your bottle of INW Peach. Shake that baby good. Then mix a small bottle of INW peach at 2.5%. Shake the hell out of that, by hand. Vape it immediately. Report back. You might have gotten a bad bottle of concentrate or something like that. If it doesn't work, I say try a different peach from a different manufacturer and a different vendor. FA Peach, FA White Peach, both good, though I get a bad weird off taste from FA White Peach at a fairly low % (despite being really good once I found it's sweet spot for me). FA Peach is more flexible or forgiving, I think. Like jdrocker said, more like canned peaches than FA White or INW which are fresher-tasting. TFA and CAP juicy peach flavors don't match the description of what you're looking for in a peach.

I don't have any experience with the WG-Peach but from what I know of WG they are mostly super-concentrated flavors meant to be used at less than 1%. You might try also making a bottle with that at 0.75%, anything more might be overload, like so much overload that you can't taste it anymore.

No heat steeping, no caps off. I literally just throw them in my cabinet and let them be. Maybe a shake up every other day or so. My tank is getting low now, so going to shake the life out of my INW peach and mix up 10ml. In fact, I'll make both, one of INW and WG at the recommended %. Will report back.

OK, in my excitement to mix up what I was hoping to be a great peach, I forgot to shake my concentrates. :/ Realizing my mistake, I started over again after giving them both a shaking until there were what seemed to be thousands of micro bubbles in my concentrates. Mixed INW at 2.5% and WG at .8%.

The INW isn't far off from what I made before, but slightly improved. I get the peach flavor, which definitely approaches the flavor profile I'm after, but I get some earthy undertones. I think what I'm missing here is that sweet/sour balance.

The WG tastes so close to the INW, that I find it difficult to distinguish between the two. Probably didn't help that I vaped them back to back without changing tanks/cotton. There seems to be a little less of the "earthy" undertone.

What would be the best way to add that sweet, without the sugar, artificial aspartame sweetener taste?

Just my two sense [sic], but I'm I none peach taster. I've had only one commercial juice with a peach profile that was okay so I know there's a concentrate out there I can taste, but every one I have bought from inw, flv, tfa, fa and fw gives my nose either a burnt plastic taste or it hurts my lungs. I'm sure since I'm so late to this you've already heard about tfa juicy peach having inflammatory aromatics. But fuck me if I'm not in your boat brother.

If I can ever create the flavor profile I am targeting, I would be delighted to post it here and share with all. At the moment, it seems I am quite some distance away from that - but not giving up.

I hear a combo of INW Peach and FLV Peach is really good. /u/RuntDastardly says they're great as a 3 FLV: 1 INW

FLV Peach is good, for sure. MF White Peach is even better

The flavor concentrate sourcing struggle is real here. TFA is available locally @ $5 for 15ml. A very limited selection of FA at $5.50 for 9ml. Capella $8 for 15ml, and this just came in as of late. Might be a while before I can source anything MF.

I'm getting ready to place my first order with FA and that one is on my list along with blenderize. I think that is the flavor in my favorite comercial ADV called Juicy Fruit by Fog Machine. I could almost drink it.

I don't know if it might be what you're looking for, but I like the profile I get from mixing INW Peach and FA White Peach. I've been trying to perfect a peach yogurt lately, and for that recipe I mix them about 2:1. You might try that when you get your FA White Peach in.

INW Peach is great in my book, so you're off to a good start with that I think, and I'm pretty sure you won't be sorry for picking up FA White Peach. I myself still need to get FLV Peach, as I always see people raving about it. Good luck!
