So yesterday I decided to branch out and try some new flavorings. I'm pretty new to DIY juice, been vaping for about 5 years but just recently started mixing. So I'm searching around different vendors, and stumble across oooflavors.com who has what appears to be a nice collection of cereal flavorings. I've been trying unsuccessfully to make my own cereal flavors from blending lorann, so this looked like a good option. Well, just as I'm checking out I decide I should check /r/DIY_eJuice to see if there were any reviews. It didn't appear they had a very good reputation here, but I found some positive opinions of BCV which ultimately led to making a 40 bottle purchase there. So a couple hours later I get an email from Freddy at OoOF (created an account before checking out), which you can read here.
The TL;DR of that conversation basically went 'hey I'm new here, trying to build customers and show off new stuff' so I respond 'hey that's great, I didn't buy because of reviews at $45, but if it was cheaper I'd try for myself'. After some back and forth he offers me the same as I was going to buy for $45 for the discounted rate of $100, and I tell him that's weird and show him why. Then he starts being condescending so I try to explain why that doesn't make sense, he still doesn't get it and offers me commission for referrals. Seriously?
I received the exact same initial (welcome) email months ago... word for word. The concentrates I did purchase are nothing great and too expensive for the percentages required. When I inquired about the ingredients in one of their products they did not know and did not follow up on my repeated inquiries.
...makes me reluctant to order anything else from them.
I wouldn't waste your time or money. I'm sure some people enjoy their flavors, I however purchased close to $150 bucks worth a year or so ago, and thought it was rubbish. Ended up in the trash after numerous attempts with every flavor I purchased. My .02
I don't get why people respond to salesman sending what I assume is a standard form letter. I'm sure every customer gets that email. It's basically junk mail unless you're trying to set up a commercial account or something.
I was checking out on their website, which is how they got my info, but when I didn't finish I got the standard form. Normally I wouldn't respond but I did have interest in trying some of their flavors, not for free but also not for $50. They initiated contact in what seemed to be an effort to attract customers by accommodating individual demand, so I indulged.
The reason I thought this was interesting wasn't the initial email. It was the way they handled the request. Offering a discount that is $55 more than advertised and talking down to me based on an assumption that I'm some struggling vape shop owner.
