I know we already have a monthly recipe thread, but I think it would be a good way to share any summer flavors people have been making lately, and for them to be organized in one spot.
Mine has been a watermelon apple that I'm still kind of working on
Wapple
-
LA Watermelon Colorless 5%
-
FA Fuji Apple 2.5%
-
TFA Strawberry ripe 3%
-
INW Cactus 0.5%
-
EM 0.5%
You can add koolada or mint/menthol but it's pretty tasty/refreshing as it is.
Do you happen to have a b&m called Lineage Vapor nearby?
I've been feeling Limey
1% Key Lime (FW)
1% Whipped Cream (TFA)
1% Vanilla Swirl (TFA)
0.5% Coconut (INW)
0.5% Meringue (TFA)
Also been vaping HoneyDew Boba by Wayne a lot (DiyOrDie)
I have those flavors except for the coconut. I have coconut extra and coconut candy. Might have to give it a shot with one of them anyway. :)
Any coconut flavor you like should be fine. I just don't happen to like those ones. Lol. Inawera seems to be the nicest I've tried so far. All others have a waxy note to them
How does the FW Key Lime match up with TFA Key Lime?
I recently came up with this one after being struck by inspiration in the INW Cactus flavor review thread and this might be my leading lady all summer long:
Spiked Nanner
LA Banana Cream - 2.5%
FA Banana - 1.5%
INW Cactus - 1.25%
INW Pear - 0.75%
4 days steep time for a damn near perfect banana in a sweet, juicy base.
You are the true master of Cactus. I don't know how you do it. That stuff can easily become so yucky if not used correctly and every Cactus recipe you share looks, on paper, like way too much of it to possibly taste good. And yet it always does. Here you've done it again, and simultaneously performed another miraculous feat, you made a banana juicy. I mean, squeeze a banana. Put a banana in blender. Fucking take a hydraulic press to the damn thing. No juice, just baby food. But here you've got me biting into a banana that gushes so much banana juice it runs down my face. That's as wonderful as it is weird. I have no suggestions for tweaks, spin-offs, or anything like that. I'm just happy to have a yummy banana that will have regular spot in my rotation. Thanks for another great recipe!
I'm glad you like it and are enjoying the fruits of my cactus worship! I know how these recipes look to many people and I am no sales person, so I really appreciate you taking a chance on these and providing such eloquent feedback.
Edit: I may have to make an additional tweak, but Spiny Nanananas should published soon.
Having natural talent, developing skills, thorough researching, meticulous note-taking, and generally putting in hard work to produce excellent results are all fairly common in these parts, but so few combine one or more of those things with creativity at the same level you do. And I'm not alone in noticing it - I saw that five-star review of Grack Juice by none other than Wayne Walker.
Prickly Pear Banana Custard? Ooooo... I can hardly wait. Good thing thing I have a couple of mango projects going to keep me occupied until then.
I've spent countless mixing sessions trying to nail Black Out City. I've come really close, but for the most part have given up trying to nail it 100%. However, I have created something that I enjoy much more than the original. I simply dubbed it...
Blackout
-
2.5% FLV Lemonade
-
1.25% CAP Italian Lemon Sicily
-
1.25% TFA Blueberry Candy
-
1% FW Blueberry
-
.5% TFA Blueberry Extra
-
.75% TFA Blueberry Wild
-
.5% TFA Blackberry
-
.1% CAP Raspberry
-
1% 50% Menthol Concentrate
I haven't thrown any Koolada in this, as it tends to make my teeth ache. I think .25-.5% would do really well in this recipe though.
{Quick Edit} I am a menthol junkie, you may want to start at .25%, or a weaker dilution.
Just started working on a Watermelon Iced Tea a few days ago. Not much to it yet, but a good start I think. I've only had a chance to shake and vape this on my sample 15mil. Today I made a 30ml batch that I upped the ice tea from 5.5% to 7%
Watermelon Iced Tea
Flavor | % ---|--- FW - Iced Tea | 7% TFA - Watermelon | 1.5% 10% EM | 1.5%
I don't have any Koolada, but will probably add it when I order my next round of flavors, and what ever else strikes my fancy.
Give FW iced tea a week to steep before making any judgement calls about percentages. I've been struggling with this flavor a bit and would love to know how you make out!
Cool thanks for the info. I'm only a week old DIY'r, one of my many reasons for going DIY was the ice tea vape I used to purchase is no longer. I wish more was out there, so I'm gonna try and master the area. I'm headed out on vacation soon, so I'll make a bunch of sample batches and let them steep while I'm away and not tempted to make them vanish.
Hey no problem! Fw Iced Tea gets a lot stronger after it steeps. I can't seem to stay focused on making a good iced tea flavor but I really want one...so I'm rooting for you! Welcome to DIY!
Edit: oh and here is a recipe as my way of saying 'welcome.' It starts to shine after 16 days. Vaping it currently.
Raspberry Iced Tea
FW Iced Tea - 5%
INW Raspberry - 1%
FA Strawberry - 1%
INW Cactus - 0.25%
FA Meringue - 0.25%
I added Cactus to moisten the FW iced tea because it can get rather 'dry' with the mouthfeel. The strawberry is to compliment the raspberry and sweeten it some. The meringue at this percentage provides a sugary note. Overall, I don't think the fruit is subtle enough here, but it is a decent starting point.
Tropical fruits, lemonades, beverages with Koolada, cooling mints and menthols, and refreshing vegetable vapes such as cucumber and cactus will probably dominate that list, but I'd like to see some with honeysuckle, watermelon, and blackberry, which all stroke that "summer in the country" nostalgia spot for me.
Your strap-on with some inw cactus added is pretty good. Have swapped the Fuji for FA kiwi at 1%, also good.
Thanks, I'm so glad you are enjoying it and enjoying playing with it! It's just a fun little thing that's meant to be played with; I'll have to give that Kiwi version a try. Did you swap out 2% Fuji for 1% Kiwi or use 1% of each Fuji/Kiwi?
FW Cucumber Mint @2%, shake and vape.
It's incredibly simple but really tasty and refreshing in hot weather, I've been vaping this a lot lately.
You might like INW Eukaliptus Z Mieta as well. The FW Cucumber Mint is pretty good but I greatly prefer the EZM. Maybe a little of both! I'll have to try that.
This is the same stuff right http://www.bullcityvapor.com/eucalyptus-with-mint-inw/?
I actually just got an order in from BCV on Monday and this is one of the flavors I bought. Haven't had a chance to try it yet.
edit: also, any suggestion on a % to start out with this stuff?
Yeah same stuff, English translation. Mix 2 testers. One at 0.5% in case you're a wuss like /u/notcharlesmanson and another at 2%. Fizzmustard likes it at 5% but 4% almost blew my face off. I have a wicked cold right now (I know, fml) and 1.5% is cutting through it. 2% would be nice right now.
Paradise
Ingredient|% :---|---: CAP Golden Pineapple|3 INW Pineapple|1 TFA Key Lime|3 FA Lime Tahiti Cold Pressed|1 CAP Harvest Berry|2 FA Cream Fresh|2 FA Meringue|2
Flavor total: 14%
It can be played with, but the lime/pineapple combo is pretty tasty on a hot day. Some TFA Koolada at your preferred % makes it nice too.
This is a tweak of /u/jiffythekid A Great Summer Vape Oiqoipus
Watermelon Chill
Flavor | % ---|--- Kiwi (FA)|0.6% Ripe Strawberry (TFA)|0.9% Forest Fruit Mix (FA)|1.65% Watermelon (LA)|1.5% Lime Tahity Cold Pressed (FA)|3.5% Red Summer (watermelon) (FA)|2% Strawberry (TFA)|0.25% Lime Tahity Distilled (FA)|1% Lemon Sicily (FA)|0.25% Koolada 10%|1.5% Cactus (INW)|0.75% Dragonfruit(TFA)|0.30%
it needs a minimum of 3 days for the lime to settle but the longer the better.
I'll play...
This stays in my rotation from March through October.
TFA blueberry wild 6% LA watermelon colorless 5% Sour 1% TFA strawberry 4% TFA watermelon 7%
I know, 23% flavoring. It works though. Have tried cutting it down, but those watermelon flavors are WEAK.
Easier on the eyes
Ingredient|% :---|---: Blueberry Wild (TPA)|6 Watermelon (Clear) (LA)|5 Sour|1 Strawberry (TPA)|4 Watermelon (TPA)|7
Flavor total: 23%
Thanks!
I've been on Reddit for a while, mostly lurk around here and try to contribute when I feel like I have the knowledge to do so, but I'm nowhere near a lot of folks here. What I'm getting at is.... Can you explain how to make that table? I'm on mobile using alien blue if that matters.
This is a juice I came up with for summer
I have vaped through 150 ml of it in the past 2 weeks I can't get enough
Ingredient|% :---|---: Cactus (INAWERA)|1.1 Coconut Extra (TPA)|2.5 Koolada 10% (TPA)|1.7 Pineapple-TFA|5
Flavor total: 10.3%
Remember to rate it at e-liquid-recipes.com!
Here's a flavor I'm working on for a summer vape, so far it's really good but maybe a bit sharp/floral? I think a light cream and some EM might round it out.
FW Cantaloupe 3% CAP Cucumber 2% FW Cranberry 1.5% CAP Spearmint 1% TFA Koolada 1% INW Cactus .5% FW Honeydew 1% TFA Honeysuckle 1%
