##FA Forest Fruit##
Summary
A delicious blend of mixed berries. Slightly sweet, refreshing, yummy. Hard to pick out individual berries, but if I had to try, I'd say blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, maybe a hint of raspberry. I don't notice any medicinal or off flavors with it. It's not very tart, like you might expect from a mixed berry blend. You can really go a lot of different directions with this one. I have been wanting to do a fruit tart and I think this flavoring would play a very important role in that.
On the Nose
Berries. lul.
Recommended Usage
Stand alone: 5%
In a mix: 2-4%. I've actually seen this be used successfully as high as 7%, but it was overcoming a strong mint
Throat
Moderate to Harsh; sharp. Calms down significantly with steep, and can be tamed with creams or other volatiles.
Pairings
Creams, other fruits, mint, melon, Citrus, chocolate, tobaccos.
Avoid
Not too sure here, berries go pretty well with just about everything.
Steep
2 days. Noticed significant reduction in throat after 1 week
Quick Recipe: Berry Creamy
Ratio: 15PG/85VG
Steep: 4+ days
- FA Forest Fruit @ 2-4% (I like it at 2%)
- FLV Cream @ 1%
- TFA Marshmallow @ 2%
Here you really get an idea of what Forest Fruit tastes like, while giving you some creaminess to tame the throat and provide some body/balance, and some sweetness that I feel it needs.
FA Forest Fruit is delicious, needs creams to balance imho. Good recipe you've got there, similar to one of mine.
I have a recipe with it and Cap Harvest Berry and Ripe Strawberry.
Blasted Berries:
FA Forest Fruit - 2%
CAP Harvest Berry - 2%
FA Marshmallow - 2%
FA Meringue - 2%
TFA Strawberry (Ripe) - 2%
Give it a week and it's a creamy, delicious mixed berry vape.
Ooh, awesome, I don't have harvest berry but I do have everything else. Looks good! I like having a few different notes and/or recipes in the reviews so thanks for the feedback!
I've been planning to mix Forest Fruit and Harvest Berry into a mixed berry jelly that I need as a component to a kind of torte or cake. Will also mix this up when I do (once my meringue is restocked) because it looks delicious. Thanks.
Have you tried LOOMA, by chance?
Edit: nvm...I realize you probably haven't. But there is yet another thing to try. Lol
i love the smell of forest fruit! current ADV: "Runch" 3% forest fruit, 3% pomegranate (tfa), 5% citrus punch (tfa), 1% sweet cream (tfa)
Ooh, I've had TFA Pomegranate for a long time but have never used it. How do you like it or how would you describe it?
honestly i haven't tried it on its own. it does add that sweetness that the forest fruit is missing however... I'll have to try it standalone. i was a huge fan of LorAan's pomegranate years ago when i first started DIY. used it as a single flavor at 10% but the bright red/pink scared me away.
More of a candied pomegranate. I get a floral note above 3%.
It does have a bit of the tartness that you would expect from pomegranate. It probably works really well with forest fruit.
Absolutely agree on the blackcurrant with it. Instead of raspberry, I actually get a slight hint of strawberry, if I had to describe it kind of closer to TFA strawberry where you get the last bite of an actual strawberry right before the green leaves at the top.
I love this flavor. Mix it with INW Liquorice.
Whaaaat, INW has a licorice? I have to check this out. Any idea on where to get it?
I'm in Europe so I go through e-aromashop.com, they have pretty much everything. I can't help if you're in the US :\
This is the one: http://e-aromashop.com/concentrate-liquorice-10-ml-p-1004.html
It's delicious. I simply mix 4% Forest Fruit with 1% Liquorice, there's definitely room for improvement but I'm happy with it for now :)
Am I the only one who tastes a hint of apricot in this? Not that it's a bad thing, I think FA Forest Fruit tastes great, I was just surprised to taste apricot in there with the blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, and raspberry.
I did too, as a standalone. Didn't notice it once it was in a mix.
Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone on the apricot.
I just got it earlier this month and haven't mixed anything with it yet, but am certainly looking forward to doing that. I've got an idea or two of my own and have collected a few other's recipes using it, do you have one to add to the list?
Actually I've been using it with harvest Berry in my berry milkshake recipe. It's always changing because nothing in this world is ever perfect. Here's the version I'm on right now:
-
CAP Harvest Berry: 2%
-
FA Forest mix: 2%
-
TFA Vanilla bean ice cream: 4%
-
FA Fresh cream: .5%
-
FA Meringue: 1.5%
-
TFA Vanilla swirl: 1%
I find this to be a brighter berry mix with strawberry up front. It mixes great with CAP Harvest berry. Forest mix provides the brighter notes and Harvest berry provides the more earthy blackberry notes. Add some koolada and it makes a nice simple all day vape for me.
I know this is a very old post but if anyone sees this, I'm looking at the Berry Creamy recipe from u/CheebaSteeba:
FA Forest Fruit @ 2-4% (I like it at 2%)
FLV Cream @ 1%
TFA Marshmallow @ 2%
Bull City is out of 10ml FLV Cream, I don't believe I've ever tried it and I don't want to commit to a 30ml bottle in this order so this is what I have on hand as far as creams go:
TFA Whipped Cream, CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream, TFA and CAP Sweet Cream, TFA Malted Milk (not a cream but...), FA Fresh Cream and TFA Bavarian Cream
Is there anything I have that might work as a substitute? If so, equal substitute?
Hey u/AZ_Jeep, I've been out of the mixing game for a bit but I will say that FLV Cream was one of my all-time favorite ingredients and I definitely recommend checking it out. Out of the things you listed I might try a sub of some FA Fresh Cream and CAP Vanilla Whipped Cream. If it were me I might also lower the Marshmallow a bit or remove it altogether, it is mostly there to sweeten up the cream a bit and fluff it out which CAP VWC will probably accomplish.
