ELR: Batch List
submitted over 9 years ago by stylesuxx

I managed to convert a couple of people around me to vaping, I also mix for them. To make life easier for me I wrote a small Tampermonkey script to help me manage my mixing batches. They write me texts or mails about their juice needs and I try to only mix once a week so I do not waste time with a lot of small batches, but instead do one big mixing session.

What it does is basically provide a way to add recipes to your "Current Batch" List. This list persists in the Browsers local storage, so you have it available even after you close the browser. You can add and delete recipes from this list.

This works only with Google Chrome and the Tampermonkey Plugin installed. Although it might work with greasemonkey under Firefox too, but I have not tested it.

Let me know what you think or if you run into any problems.

Ps.: I checked with /u/daath to make sure what I am doing is OK with him. He also told me, he might implement such a feature at some point, but for the time being, I thought some of you might be interested in this as well.

Nice and simple. I like it.

Just out of curiosity, how hard would it be to implement a batch counter? I've always wanted to know how many times I've made a particular recipe and it'd be so cool to have a little button to press each time you mix it and a number next to the recipe showing how many times it's been made.

Not really a "feature request" for you, just wondering if that's in the realm of possibility. I asked /u/daath about it months ago, but it (and other features) seem like they're not coming to fruition.

My plans are way more complex than that - It would include mixing notes (from that batch), and deduct from your flavor stash (and warn you when you're getting low), also keep track of when you mixed it, and tell you when it's steeped enough and maybe time to rate it (if it isn't yours) - and many more things :)

It's definitely planned. I've had very little time to mess with ELR recently - my day time job has required a lot of me (fortunately that has been fun as well) - but I am really itching to do some new stuff on ELR as well :)

Well, that would not be too much of a problem at all. To be honest, I was thinking about a similar feature, where it displays a "Make" button next to the recipe when you have enough of all ingredients. When you click "Make" it decreases the amount of flavor used by the recipe from your stash.

I'm sure that /u/daath would love to help incorporate something similar.

Edit: I just saw your PS

I will follow through, though - it will just take a little while :D

I like the idea.

Complete batch and inventory control? I love the idea! :D hehe it does require some basic changes to the way ELR works, and how recipes are presented (in my opinion)...

Are these batches similar in effect to the batch system at chukr.xyz?

You should post this on the forums, that is if you want. Nice little script, thanks for sharing.

Have you used Alltheflavors.com before? Has batches built in.

Oh, that is good to know. When I first was researching recipe sites I liked ELR most, so I stuck with that.
