Heya guys. I figured I'd take a moment to drop all my recipes over here for yall, since it's going to take about a month for everything to get put up on my site.
These are all at the original percentages I mixed them at. For this audience I'd recommend starting by halving each recipe that's not The Lord, The Lady, The Mistress or The Imp.

B-but vendor juice is supposed to be 15% CAP with a bunch of sucralose...
edit: Seriously though some of those look really good, I'm gonna try a few. The Mistress seems tempting.
Some flavors look unnecessary in a couple recipes though. For example in Grandma's Gooey Muffin there's 4% Forest Fruit, 5% Blueberry Wild and .5% Bilberry already in there, pretty sure I couldn't tell if I omitted the .12% FA Strawberry. But I imagine you've tried leaving them out already?
~~edit 2: First got upvoted for the stupid joke then downvoted for asking a question about the recipes... Cool.~~
GGM is in dire need of streamlining, it was developed as a customer request and out of many variations I sent that was the one, I had a lot of regulars for it so I didn't want to change the recipe. If I were going to mix some up right now I'd axe TFA Blackberry, pull Forest Fruit down to 1% and slightly up the FA Strawberry. FA Strawberry is incredibly strong to my taste and that bit was mostly to help sweeten up the Forest Fruit a tad.
Edit: If you mix up The Mistress, and you lean that way, add a bit of koolada. It's my favorite summer vape.
And feel free to ask about any of the other extraneous flavors. :-)
I see! Didn't know that about FA Strawberry, just assumed it had average potency.
Personally I need to use quite a bit of forest fruit to actually taste it (4% standalone) so I guess I'd do ~2.5% for this recipe. I'm missing most of those concentrates though...
Will definitely try The Mistress with koolada. Thanks for the tip and the recipes, there's a few ideas I already know I'm gonna steal.
Also The Imp looks like an interesting combo, if anyone has the concentrates to mix it up I'd love to hear some feedback.
FA and INW strawberries quickly become a floral mess if you push them in my experience. But they're exceedingly delicious in small amounts and especially in combination with CAP Sweet Strawberry.
The Imp is nice, starts out a bit floral and then settles into a sort of spiced lime cookie after a couple weeks. I just finished 180mls I made at the end of May and need to make a new batch.
No notes. So sad. I'm sure someone wants to know why 0.08% tfa tobacco makes a difference. Or how 4% tfa ripe banana works well with...well anything.
Thanks for the recipes man. Sorry the fda fucked you in the ass.
I'd have put notes with the post, but I had to help with the kids when I finished transcribing the recipes. Figured questions would happen.
TFA Tobacco is pretty crazy strong to my taste. It helps accentuate the tobacco in DK tobacco without accentuating the AP it contains.
The recipe is banana runts for the first 2 weeks after mixing, as it ages the banana softens and everything else starts to come out. I developed this while testing it on an Aqua 2 years ago, so I strongly recommend mixing the flavoring for 30ml's up (that'll let you get the ~1 drop of TFA Tobacco for .08%) and then using only half of it. Even then it should still be very banana.
The FDA's getting it's giant boner ready for everybody... I just decided to nope out of the fucking part. :-)
Cheers man. Can you please add more notes? Honestly I'd never mix that up until you said that. We all appreciate the recipes but they'll get more love with some sort of idea where you got them from, how they steep, how long they need a steep etc.
Sorry about getting pushed out, but thank you for posting these! I never tried your juice, never actually heard about you until they were saying you were closing shop. I'm excited to try them though!
Amazing! Damn man, you don't fuck around with amount of flavors in a few of these. Kinda sad I never tried Gooey Muffin now.
Go make it!
I'm learning and getting comfortable before I make the jump and my comfort comes crashing down.
Thanks so much for doing this <3
I'll definitely be mixing a lot of these up. They look fantastic.
It was good talking to you last night on the show! Hope to have you on again soon.
Hey /u/gordonavapes, thanks alot for these. Can you explain what you meant by this "These are all at the original percentages I mixed them at. For this audience I'd recommend starting by halving each recipe that's not The Lord, The Lady, The Mistress or The Imp."
So, on the commercial side of e-liquid, the average vaper is accustomed to fairly high flavoring mixes. I think a lot of this is due to pre-made coils and consumer tanks not having the greatest flavor production, in addition to a couple of other factors.
I assume that the crowd on this sub generally uses less flavoring in mixes. Since DIY is going to appeal primarily to the hobbyist I assume most here are using devices that deliver flavor more efficiently, and I think DIYers tend to appreciate nuance rather than having their taste buds assaulted with sweetness and a dominant flavor note.
That's not to say that there aren't many consumers who appreciate nuance, or DIYers who love a 5% Cinnamon Red Hot & sucralose blend.
Anyways, the flavors I didn't name were mixed at ratios more consumer oriented, and the ones I did mention were developed to use the minimal amount of flavoring possible to get the result I wanted.
Does that make sense?
Awesome thoughtfulness. The insight into what sets a marketable commercial juice apart from the style of recipes posted here is interesting to me. Gives me a little more confidence to try tweaking recipes that seemed flat for my tastes.
> [...] DIYers who love a 5% Cinnamon Red Hot & sucralose blend.
Shit, man... My ADV is 2.5% TFA Red Hot, 0.5% TFA Clove, 1% FA Peppermint. (⌐■_■)
Oh, Lord. Grandma's gooey muffin. I'm sure it tastes better than it sounds.
Thanks so much for these! Lots of inspiration to draw from even if I can only mix up two of these. Even then I'm omitting and substituting. Should still be damn tasty though.
Quick question though regarding my earlier point. I understand why you're getting out of it, but would there be any consideration into selling premixed flavors of yours? For those of us without the extensive catalog of flavors it would be awesome. Not saying it's not worth getting the missing components but with the way that I'm going to be making juice in the future I won't be amassing a crazy collection of flavors.
I believe that Gordanavapes being the 'manufacturer' of the product would be the one responsible for FDA paperwork and approvals. So even if he were just to bottle the flavors into a concentrate, he'd still need to do/go through all the hassles.
I think I could get away with selling flavoring concentrates through a different company.
Of course they would be for food use only, such as for making homemade ice cream, sodas, flavored whipped cream, etc.
I haven't looked into the regulations that already pertain to such endeavors, but I'll give it a gander.
If there was enough interest I'd certainly consider it! If there's a flavor or two in particular you're interested in shoot me a PM and if I've got everything for it I'll send you some base.
Marshall, you're the fucking man. I'm actually curious about your steeping methods! Looking at your recipes, it seems that the majority of them are bakery, cream or tobacco based. Hence I believe it requires a long steeping time. As a vendor, how did you cope with this, especially when most of your customers are expecting a finished product? Do you recommend them to steep it? Or is there some heat-steeping process involved (magnetic stirrer, etc)?
It depends a lot on the recipe. For most of the recipes I'd mix up a LOT of base that, when possible, I'd allow to steep on its own prior to use. I don't have any scientific data on what this does, but my anecdotal experience is that it accelerates the process.
The Mistress is kind of the opposite of this, it starts out with the Kiwi in a great place and Honeydew takes over a lot as it ages. So there it was generally a mix to order.
I also think most consumers that order online are fairly used to steeping. A born on date is generally sufficient to give people an idea for how long they'll personally wait to vape it.
For wholesale orders, a lot of that juice is sitting on shelves for a while, so minimal heated magnetic stirrer is what I used there.
Thanks for the reply. That helps a lot. Could you also explain the thought process behind Platano en culo and The Imp? What made you come up with such an odd combination? Milk chocolate, banana, plum??? INW Biscuit... fa cardamom... ? Would love to hear your thoughts on that.
Someone didn't read the post https://imgur.com/ruIFTBx.
Thanks for all of these, Marshall.
I'll be making the Lord and groolberry asap. The Lord was the best coffee cake I've ever had and I've got some people that have been wanting me to make something with blueberry.
Finally, thanks to you I now have a use for this FW Vanilla Cupcake that's been sitting in my stash all this time! Seriously though, a bittersweet thank you for these recipes, as I know it's a really terrible circumstance that led to you sharing them. They look very interesting and I can't wait to mix a few. Good luck in your future endeavors bro.
/u/gordonavapes How is the "Imp" using FA Pear instead of TFA?? if you have experimented with it while developing the recipe !
I actually didn't try FA, but my fear would be that you'd have to use a lot of it to even taste it in the mix, and that it would be to cloying.
Simultaneously, it wouldn't be nearly as astringent.
If you like sweeter juices I think it'd be worth trying, I'd start trying FA Pear at 3%-5%. I'd probably start closer to 5%
