Setup: Plume Veil RDA; dual parallel @ .35Ω; cotton wicks; 45W
Testing: RF Cherry Pie (VG based flavor) @ 8%; blended to 70VG/30PG; Aged: 14 days
Flavor description: Packs a thick glazey punch of rather sweet and somewhat sour cherry flavor with very light sugary cinnamon crust notes. There seems to be a very tiny bit of a vanilla note as well. The cherry part is reminiscent of the cherry pie filling I ate out of a can as a kid.
Off-flavors: Rather harsh spice that I cannot quite explain. It's a very subtle taste, but could potentially irritate a sensitive throat.
Throat hit: surprisingly strong 8/10.
Uses: Dessert recipes. Decent standalone flavor as well.
Pairings: Ice cream, whipped cream, sweet and light fruits, maybe a little graham cracker if you find the crust part isn't quite enough.
Notes: Rather muted at a lower %. Being a VG based flavoring, it will take a bit more steep time to fully develop depth, and also requires a higher than normal % to really shine.
EDIT: I just blended this with some 1% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust, and it totally loses the throat hit. Only problem is that it mutes the cherry taste. I think a light cream at a very low % could potentially tame the harshness of this flavor.
I really want to like this flavor but the throat hit is a bit much for my liking. The taste is very nice though, may just have to battle through the throat hit. Thanks for the review
Setup
RDA/ Velocity Coil/ 6 Wrap Single Fused Kanthal Clapton 2×26 core 32 wrap W/ 45 Wicking/ Full Cotton Ω/0.26
Testing
Steep Time/4 weeks % Used/ 10
PG/VG 50/50 Nic%/0
Mouth Feel
Light on the palate and heavy on the nose. Moderately dense 6 out of 10
Throat Hit
4/10.I'm thinking mostly because of the hint of cinnamon you definitely feel that throat hit.
Flavor Properties
First things that stand out to me are the cinnamon and the crust, followed by a syrupy cherry flavor. The Cherry is very true to the name pie filling without tasting like cough syrup. The crust tasts like graham cracker with a little butter and a touch of cinnamon.
Relatable Flavors
Pretty self-explanatory they did a great job at making it true to its name.
Off Flavors
Lingering aftertaste.
Position In The Recipe
Base. I believe it was designed to be a standalone, but could benefit from other flavorings, and should be fairly easy to build on.
Pairings
Besides this there's really only one other Cherry I enjoy, so it probably pair well with flavor West black cherry, other bakeries, vanilla's, cream, a few spices such as Cartman could really pump it up, and could try some ice cream for a cherry pie ala mode. I believe a few of the lighter tobacco's such as fa Soho may also pair well.

I mixed this at 8% with .5% FA Apple Pie, and even after two weeks all I could taste was the apple pie. Is this flavor just weak or is FA Apple Pie that strong?
I've been playing around with a lot of RF flavors and from my experience when your planing on keeping the overall flavor profile the same and just acentuate on part as you are here with the crust it's best to start at 0.25% or even lower as any other brands seem to run all over RF.. I've made many dilutions of some flavors that I never would have thought to be necessary if I wasn't mixing them with RF.
I haven't personally had it, but if it's like other FA flavorings, I would assume it's relatively strong. I'm on 2 weeks steep of RF Cherry Pie @ 8% standalone, and I think it really tasty by itself.
If I did anything different, I might throw in 1-2% TFA Graham Cracker clear to bring out the crust a little more, but the cherry is definitely strong to me at 8%.
