INW Grapes [Flavor Review]
submitted over 9 years ago by wh1skeyk1ngDiketones, Schmiketones

Setup: Plume Veil RDA; dual parallel @ .35Ω; cotton wicks; 45W

Testing: INW Grapes @ 4%; Aged: 6 days

Flavor description: Complex, thick, sweet, mildly tart/sour mixture of green and red/purple grapes. Slightly candy-like, but also carries an earthiness resembling an actual grape.

Off-flavors: Nothing really off unless you don't care for the earthiness.

Throat hit: 6/10.

Uses: Decent as a standalone grape given its complexity, but could definitely be used as an accent or mid note, or in a fizzy type of recipe.

Pairings: Other fruits, champagnes/colas/others of the like.

Notes: I can't really pinpoint whether I taste green or purple grape, sweet or tart, earthy or candy. It's definitely got a lot going on. I'm going to open a couple windows to let the haze out of my kitchen and call this one done for now.

Why did I not think of combining this flavor with FA Champagne before now?!

Pink champagne goes really well with any grape flavor, especially if you're planning to use caffeine in your mix.

I wonder if that one will be worth picking up? Anyway, I started here last night. I'm digging it so far.

So...umm...how/why do you incorporate caffeine into your mixes?

Well I was under the impression that it wasnt viable due to the amount needed for oral activation. But when vaping you need substantially less to be considered an effective dose.

My friend who owns a shop in South Florida adds some into my juices when I drop by now. At first I thought it was gimmicky as fuck. Then I noticed I was up till 2:30am playing videogames with zero eyefatigue on a night when I needed to wake up early for work the next day XD.

I work in an office, and Im allowed to vape in there. Coffee makes my piss smell weird and wrenches my guts a little, so vaping something with caffiene works out a little bit better with me.

It's awesome!

Also, that recipe looks tight, except for the koolada (I hate menthol vaping.)

Of course i just ordered a ton of FA during the weekend sale at ecigs. Champagne didn't even pop out to me. Now thinking I should get this. Just realising who you are too. Your acid drops recipe is in my list of to do mixing.

Have you tried TFA grape juice?

I am working on a grape bubblegum recipe, all I have is loranne grape and im not a big fan. Trying to figure out whether to go with a bulk TFA grape, or INW. I find INW really hit or miss with the fruits (like any vendor) I love love LOVE their apple, strawb and pear, but hate their blueberry, raspberry and mango.

Very helpful post for me! I might just bite the bullet and buy both. They will get used up eventually

TFA grape juice tastes very similar to Welch's grape juice. I'm rather fond of it (and INW's Grapes) but others say it tastes chalky. IME, it needs at least 5 days steep or else it's a bit harsh.

Exactly like what I think Welch's grape juice taste like. I just tried it at 8% last week and am trying to get 120ml of it somewhere. Delicious i really want this with CAP strawberry taffy ;D

INW makes a Purple Bubblegum in their YC (Yummy Classic) line. It's pretty dead on Purp Bubblegum, very strong.. even at 1% you can demolish whatever else is in the mix.

Do you have any experience with the Donald Bubblegum from INW? I mixed it at 2% and it was horrific.

I do, I actually picked that up as well... I use it very sparingly alongside CAP or TFA Bubblegum. I generally will use 3% CAP Bubblegum and add about 2 drops of INW Donald per 10ml. This brightens up the mix quite a bit. I found myself adding 1 drop per 30ml of the Purple BG YC as well, haven't tried it but a guy I make this for at work said it was phenomenal. Maybe a quick mix to try would be:

  • CAP Bubblegum - 3%
  • EM 10% - 2%
  • CAP Sweet Strawberry - 6%
  • LA Watermelon (Clear) - 5%
  • 1 drop / 10ml - INW Donald BG
  • 1 drop / 30ml - INW Purple BG YC

This is a pretty solid starting point I found.

I haven't tried TFA Grape, I'm just not huge on grapes, but I ordered this for a friend after seeing some positive recommendations.

I ordered all the single grape flavors at bullcityvapor except for grape juice. Grape concord sucked, but the rest were decent. I'd recommend White Grape if you enjoyed inw grape.

Based on having tried TFA Grape Juice, INW Grapes, and TFA Grape Candy, I'm going to say none of those for grape bubble gum. Maybe TFA Grape Juice, depending on what else you're mixing it with, but I've had some trouble getting that one to really stand out in a mix. Based on comments I've read here, you might want to look into FLV Grape for your grape bubblegum recipe.

grape candy helps with the bubblegum goal, but you need to add like a "sweetish" sour to round it out.

I made a 6-grape concoction (call it purple cobra), and the grape candy gave it a noticeable jolly rancher edge.

INW Grapes - 2%

TFA Cranberry - 5%

FA Marshmallow (for mouthfeel) - 1%

Yes. I just tried INW Grapes for the first time this past week. I would describe this as earthiness you speak of as the taste of actual grape skins that you only get from eating grapes, as opposed to drinking grape juice.

Hi, what can I replace this with?I'm trying to mix a Sour Grapple recipe from ATF but I'm having a hard time finding INW Grape. The options I have here are:
CAP - Grape
TPA - Grape Candy
FA - Grape Concord
TPA - Grape Juice
TPA - Grape Soda
Can I replace INW Grape with any of those??
