Setup: Plume Veil RDA; dual parallel @ .35Ω; cotton wicks; 45W
Testing: TFA Kiwi Double @ 5%; Aged: 6 days
Flavor description: Candied kiwi taste, fairly sugared. Sits nicely on the tongue. Not extremely juicy per se, but not exactly dry either. Maintains steady flavor through the inhale and exhale. Slightly resembles a pear or green apple.
Off-flavors: Slight boozy/wine note at 5%
Throat hit: 4/10.
Uses: This flavor can be used to accent other fruits in a recipe, but I would keep it below 4% unless you're going for a kiwi-candy taste.
Pairings: Other fruit flavorings.
Notes: Doesn't exactly taste like an actual kiwi, but carries enough flavor profile to pass as kiwi candy flavor. Not a great standalone, as it likes to be with other fruits.
Add some FA Kiwi to TFA Kiwi for more realistic kiwi flavor. Or add some TFA Kiwi Double to FA Kiwi for a less dry and "rindy" kiwi flavor, either way.
Mix TFA Kiwi Double with TFA Toasted Marshmallow for strange but amazingly delicious flavor.
To me FA Kiwi tastes like strawberry. Quite disappointed.
I like a 2:1 ratio of FA kiwi and TFA kiwi double for a juicy, realistic tasting kiwi.
What % or marshmellow and kiwi?
All the percents. Really, just take whatever percent TFA Kiwi Dub tastes good to you and add TFA Toasted Marshmallow at any ratio from the same percent to half that percent and give it a try. You could also add a little FA Kiwi or reduce the TFA Toasted and introduce some FA Marshmallow.
If you want an absolute flavor bomb, try Botboy's "Killer Kiwi" from the July 2015 monthly thread: 10% TFA Kiwi Double, 10% TFA Toasted Marshmallow, 10% EM. Yes, you read that right, 30% flavor. This is his description of it:
> "Seriously, mouth puckering sour of kiwi with an insane amount of sweetness and luxurious mouth feel from the EM. You can also try this with: 3% FA Marshmallow 10% TFA Kiwi Double 5% TFA Toasted Marshmallow 10% Ethyl Maltol (10%) Very similar flavor profile but I feel the FA Marshmallow adds a little more fluff and marshmallow flavor but you lose some sweetness from the reduced percentage of TFA Toasted Marshmallow."
But, I have to warn you, when he says this will "tank your coils supremely fast," he means it.
Goes great with INW pear, INW two apples and most strawberry and raspberry flavours. Oh and citrus fruits like CAP sweet tangerine also work.
This is a super strong flavour, even 2% in a mix is too strong for me. At 2% it will initially taste nothing like kiwi, there are elements of tomato in there and a very strong "wtf is that weird chemical" taste. Once your tastebuds become overwhelmed by the onslaught of chemicals it does become more palatable, which leads me to the conclusion that 1% is enough for a kiwi centred juice.
It doesn't taste as authentic as FA Kiwi, but neither of them are as wishy washy as a real kiwi. To get closer to a real kiwi use FA Kiwi (4% with maybe a tiny bit of TFA double Kiwi 0.2-0.4%) and some CAP cucumber (0.6%), along with a little bit (0.4%) TFA Dragonfruit.
