Setup: Plume Veil RDA; dual parallel @ .35Ω; cotton wicks; 45W
Testing: CAP Glazed Donut @ 5%; Aged: 6 days
Flavor description: Sweet cakey donut along with a moist sugary glaze. Tastes very similar to the 99 cent 6 packs of glazed donuts you find at a gas station.
Off-flavors: I don't taste anything off. EDIT: Others are tasting Play-Doh. Trying it as a standalone in a tank, I did get a slight Play-Doh nuance, but I don't taste that on my RDA.
Throat hit: 6/10. Thick and heavy in the mouth.
Uses: I haven't personally played with any additions, but would likely play well in a bakery or dessert recipe.
Pairings: Berries, ice creams, nuts. Would pair well with some INW Biscuit or FA Joy.
Notes: Tastes great as a shake-n-vape, steeps out very well also. Very enjoyable as a 5% standalone flavor. I feel that Capella really nailed this flavor.
No off flavors? Tastes like straight-up Play Doh to me. I'm going to have to talk to a doctor because problems with or changes in one's sense of taste or smell can be a sign of a neurological problem.
Edit: Or just normal aging. That's probably it.
You are not alone there my friend. Straight up Play-Doh.
I had the same issue with the Chocolate version and swore I would never touch it again. Then on a whim I decided to just order a bottle and try Bronuts and sure enough that bottle was amazing. I've ordered a total of 6 bottles of the stuff at different times and only that one single bottle was good, the rest were Play-Doh
Only the Glazed Donut flavor tastes like Play-Doh to me. And I ate enough Play-Doh in my day to know what Play-Doh tastes like. What?! It says non-toxic!
The Chocolate-Glazed One tastes chalky but not like Play-Doh. I liked Bronuts but didn't LOVE it. I've tried two variations from the original recipe and liked both of them more. They both had the same thing in common, 2% of the CAP Chocolate-Glazed Donut replaced with 2% of something else. Got CAP Glazed Donut non-chocolate in hopes of making a non-chocolate donut. No luck yet, just lots of kindergarten nostalgia.
Agreed, I've seen elsewhere on this sub that this flavor has had some bad batches. When Bronuts first showed up, I jumped on the bandwagon. After 2 days of vaping Bronuts, my throat was so dry and scratchy, but if I switched flavors, it cleared up within a day. I gave up on Bronuts, and figured I'd be part of the group that just couldn't stand it. A few weeks ago, I tacked on another order of Chocolate Glazed Donut after seeing reports that they had some bad batches, and this one was much better. The flavor smells much better than the old batch, and tastes much, much better.
Yeah, same thing with me. I heard about the bad batches so figured I would order a bottle. It was amazing. Ordered another bottle and it was play-doh. Ordered 3 more bottles from different vendors, all play-doh. Never have gotten that good bottle again and I can't afford to keep buying bottle after bottle hoping one will be good.
I will say though, that one bottle was pretty amazing!
yep, play-doh for me as well. I had to toss the bottle because it's play-doh flavor leeched into a different flavor bottle I was keeping next to it.
No, it tastes like play-doh to me as well.
Wait...do we both have brain ouchies? oh god...
Could indeed be a bad case of the brain ouchies. But based on the other comments on this thread, I think wh1skeyk1ng is the one who needs to be worried. Or a lot of us suffer from an odd form of mass delusion.
A steep helps it a little bit. The key word being little, even after several weeks there's a touch of my childhood stupidity lingering on my palate (yeah, I was that playdoh eating sharpie smelling glue sniffing idiot of a child).
> playdoh eating sharpie smelling glue sniffing
My reasoning was, if I wasn't supposed to eat it, why does it say non-toxic? If I wasn't supposed to smell it, why do Susie's markers smell like fruit?
I've forgotten what Elmer's School Glue tastes like but if I keep ordering enough flavors, eventually TFA or CAP will be kind enough to remind me, I'm sure.
Your reasoning seems sound, my childbrain just went wow that smells good I should probably eat it. This whole thing is giving me a good chuckle over my après work beer. Btw I'm waiting on you to start posting some flavor notes, whether you like it or not your advice and flavor explanations are always on point.
damn, I don't get play doh, it smells and vapes like a real doughnut (added FA joy of course). And I got like an 8ml bottle, so if my tiny supply runs out, likely my next batch will have the play doh curse! ah what the hell, we all wanted to eat play doh as kids.
