first off sorry for my sloppy typing im lazy but.... im so glad that this sub is starting to see all these individual flavor reviews. it jus makes so much sense like those are basically our main tools as average mixers. why not have in depth posts reviewing each one? not these sentence long descriptions in massive inconclusive lists. we should have thought of this sooner darnit!!! lol but anyway hats off to whoever started the trend and lets keep it going strong, all pitch in and keep the reviews as great as they are. and lets keep moving forward. how about threads discussing mixing with differnt concentrates of the same flavor profile/category. i could really see the flavor review wiki becoming the ultimate source of mixing knowledge.
Big shoutout goes to /u/chrisdvr1 on this. We've had a few scattered ones here and there, but he really put it on the radar. I agree, I think this is going to be an ultimate source of mixing knowledge once we get it built up even more.
Wow my inbox just self-destructed!!!! This is awesome I would love to see multiple review of the same flavor just put your review in the comments if you happen to review a flavor that has already been done.
Would also love to see links to more in-depth sciency stuff added reviews as well that way if you're interested you can take a look.
This is a great idea, having flavor notes from multiple reviewers in one place about the same flavor would be very valuable. Taste is subjective singularly, but usually somewhat consistent for groups of people. For example, those that can't taste strawberry or get the pepper/plastic from VBIC/and certain creams, have some consistency.
With notes from multiple tasters and perhaps alternatives that work would help the community, It would also help point out the subjective flavor challenges and offer alternatives.
I'll have to say the flavors I've liked vs. the flavors that were hyped up are minimal. I mean in the DIY community and the internet forums for vendor juice. I've easily spent $700 on vendor juice and $500 on DIY flavors and have found very little to my liking, in the last 5 years. That being said, I have an ADV I'm super happy with and it's super simple. 15 years ago vs today? I am a review junkie. I have made purchases ove that time span, on the internet, that I would have never been able to do in face meat time. I love reviews. I can spend hours on Amazon just reading reviews. So there, I think the age of the internet has brought my purchasing power that I could ever live without. Just because a pop music star has sold 1 million albums, just because a burger joint has sold 1 million hamburgers, just because an e liquid vendor has sold 1 million bottles of premium juice, just because 1 million people here on Reddit DIY_eJuice say it's the most awesome flavor ever, doesn't mean it's true. Eventually, you'll have to find out for yourself what is the best e liquid flavor. Reviews are super helpful but not the be all end all. Flavor is subjective.
had a thought the other day. I have roughly 300 flavors, a lot of them unopened. if I put all of them in an Google doc, would you guys like to vote to pick which ones I try out each week. I could probably do 3-5 each week depending on the steeping time. this way it'll make me try out the flavors I've been putting off, and it will also broaden our sub's flavor notes.
Why not just pull out 3-5 random flavors and do your reviews? Would save you a lot of typing. ;)
was thinking this way the community can decide which flavors they want notes on. whether it be new flavors that just came out, obscure flavors they were curious about getting, or just comparisons between the same flavor from different companies. I want to post up flavor profiles the majority want info on rather than notes on a flavor only a couple of people want. I have some flavors steeped now that will kickstart this whole thing. I'll link my ever growing list of flavors with each post, and people can just comment which flavors they'd want notes on next.
