My own recipe, using CCW (cupcake world flavors). This is my first post on this sub, so hope I'm doing it right ..Reddit formatting is kind of confusing for me! I don't use any sweeteners in my recipes.
Just to clarify, CCW are food grade mono-propylene glycol UK based flavour concentrates. They are very strong, a tiny but goes a long way.
Flavour notes: A very slight sweet cinnamon, with a sweet creamy flavour. Cakey, but not overpowering. Just a hint of strawberry, enough to know its there..Cinnamon is a bit more pronounced on exhale.
Recipe is for higher VG juices, to avoid use of sweeteners.
- Mix your 70vg /30pg or 80vg/20pg base
- Add your desired nicotine content, I've made this recipe as high as 18mg and the flavour was just as amazing as it is at 0mg
- Add 1% of CCW flavouring: Cinnamon Churros
- Add 3% of CCW flavouring: Condensed Milk
- Add 1% of CCw flavouring: Strawberry
Mix well and let steep for at least 3 days. Longer steeping gives a creamier flavour. Very delicious, I make homemade Tres Leche all the time using a recipe passed down from my great grandma and this ejuice tastes pretty much just like it. Enjoy!
Sounds great but I just don't fancy adding another manufacturer to my list which almost always seen to be growing by the day . Any particular reason you choose ccw and am I missing out in not using it ? Thanks for the posting this btw
No reason really, well I like that I can use them for baking too! Steeping really brings out the best of these, but I find some of their flavours like the "key lime" are extremely overpowering and I wouldn't go more than 1 drop per 30ml. Other flavours like their white chocolate, milks, cakes, etc. Are very Moorish. I recently made a cracker jack flavour using salted caramel, popcorn and peanut butter...it is amazing lol. I don't think you're missing out on anything, I think it just comes down to personal choice.
Tres Leches has been my white whale of sorts since I got into DIY (my boyfriend works in a Tex-Mex place that makes an amazing one). While I don't see myself procuring any CCW flavors due to not being in the UK, I'm glad that my hunch to grab Condensed Milk (I'm using FA) was right. I used it at 1.5% in my recipe because it smells overwhelmingly strong and kinda butyric acid-like, and I didn't want to get a vomit taste as my base note.
For my base I'm using CAP Vanilla Cupcake at 4% with CAP Cake Batter at 1% in an attempt to get that moistness Tres Leches cake is known for, but I'm still getting a dryness to it. Should I swap those two around or just go the route OP did and grab a churro flavor for the base while scrapping both of those?
1.5% Condensed Milk?? Are you mad?
I tried it at 1% Con Milk and it was absolutely foul, overpowered everything else by a mile.
That is way way way way way too much, under 0.25% is the region I would cut it down to. (0.1% is the current level I use it at in recipes)
Duly noted (and yeah I am a bit mad, there's a reason /u/TheCatHimself is the brains behind the outfit). I was actually thinking to myself "I'm making a terrible mistake here, aren't I?" as I dropped it in.
I will scrap that bottle and try it again with those much lower concentrations you suggested. Thanks much!
Me too. In fact I had all but given up until I heard the episode of In the Mix with /u/TheCatHimself where he mentioned the milk cake recipe you listed. I took that and made some things that were ok, but did not satisfy.
I also really wanted to use FW Tres Leches to make something, but it just never worked out. I believe I ultimately ended up using that cake base to make a butterscotch thing which was another white whale of mine, so thank you for the share, and I think I will give it another go with the condensed milk or possibly dairy?
