So a couple weeks ago I posted a recipe I was trying to recreate as I had some rebranded flavourings and thanks to the help of the community I got a good ball park guess of where to start with the big suppliers.
A huge thank you to everyone who posted suggestions my recipe is almost spot on with the minor differences actually being improvements to the flavour so far on a shake and vape that appeals to my sweet tooth..!
It's a Strawberries and Creamy Custard for anyone interested and the recipe is here. I don't really want to keep it to myself so I'm gonna share away although I know the custard is gonna take a little while to come through so I'll post some flavour update later on if anyone's interested.
- CAP Strawberry Sweet 9%
- CAP Vanilla Custard 4.5%
- FW Madagascar Vanilla 4.5%
I'll save anyone the "woah that's a lot of strawberry" comments now and say it's just right for my sweet tooth but may be a bit much for some others. I wouldn't mind it being a bit sweeter in fact!
Thanks again to the community for being so awesome!
Edit: Immediate flavour notes are as follows based on a shake and vape. Will provide further notes as the mix matures..
CAP Strawberry Sweet is very much the candied strawberry you've all experienced and come to know and love. For me it reminds me of strawberry straws/laces.
Coupled with the Madagascar Vanilla right off the bat gives a real sweet cream with a smooth after taste and very little throat hit. This definitely makes the shake and vape taste like the campino sweets that were around a few years ago here in the UK.
From my first batch using the original flavourings I'm really hoping this CAP Vanilla Custard will shine through like the previous custard did. From the smell of the custard and the texture/colouring from the rebranded I bought before I'd say this is the same custard although I can't be 100% sure just yet. My first batch has a real nice thickness and density that the custard brought out after the 2 week of steeping that I'm too excited to even wait for but I know I must.
Will update again with any other progressions in flavour changes next week.
