Mouth Feel - Smooth heavy and very dense I would give it a 9 out of 10. No throat hit.
Flavor Properties- Creamy and rich super smooth icecream with the the perfect vanilla. Not artificial Not spicy moderately eggy, heavy on the dairy, fairly sweet, and that super rich butter & cream you expect in an ice cream or custard.
Relatable Flavors - To me this is I like eating a spoon full of blue bunny vanilla ice cream, or a vanilla buttercream.
Off Flavors - I'm not finding any faults here I have heard people say that VBIC can be peppery. I have had what I would describe as spicy vanilla before but I'm not getting that here. (I'm assuming it's the TFA)
Position in the recipe - With its super-dense properties my opinion is this is best in a base, could also be used to Accent other creams.
Pairings - Other creams, berries, fruits, tobacco's, bakeries, and beverages like Cola or root beer.
FW VBIC contains acetoin, TFA's contains acetyl propionyl.
TFA's VBIC is the one people consider peppery -- the only thing I've been able to discern with TFA's version is that it contains quite a bit of water which might be added to a slight harshness that's associated with pepper.
i beleive this could be an extremely complicated subject and i dont claim to know much other than anecdotal experiance. but in my case i never got the pepper taste until one day i vaped sum mustard milk not too long after tokin up. it alwayd ruins my vape so i waited but not quite long enough. i didnt have any resin taste but i still had dry mouth and it was straight pepper taste comin thru. now i can kinda taste hints of it every niw and then even completely normal. weird i think. and if i dont wait long enough its always straight pepper
does the pepper taste go away after steeping?
Thanks fore the info it really helps round out the notes!!!
Love your flavor descriptions!! Thank you for your time invested in doing this proper!
Can you compare this to TFA's VBIC? To me, it has a dark flavor, dense as well, almost custard-y, not too heavy on the cream. Curious how this compares.
Thanks for the extensive flavour notes as always!
For people saying they taste pepper in VBIC, I have the same issue, doesn't matter what concentration, nicotine or PG/VG ratio. However steeping really does remove the pepper, for me at least. It needs at least a week of normal steeping to settle down and blend well. I noticed it first with mustard milk, and again with my own variants, and steeping fixes it entirely. Speed steeping with heat and/or cap off makes little to no difference. Have to be patient unfortunately, but it turns amazing if you steep it for 2-3 weeks.
I might look into FW's VBIC once I run out of TFA's. Seems promising.
this needs to be in the flavor review thread too. Thanks for your hard work. Its really helpful for those of us too lazy to single flavor test lol
