Playing around with my recent purchase of Double Chocolate, I had an idea to try and make a banana split flavor, I searched the sub before, but I just decided to create my own.
The main flavor, besides the banana of course, was the Neapolitan ice cream, which I personally love. Generally they have some sort of nut on top, usually peanuts, but I do not have a peanut flavor (besides peanut butter) to use, so I just decided to go without it. Even though it's only a few days old, I just couldn't wait to share it because it's so freaking delicious.
Banana Split | % | ---|---|---- Banana Cream (LA)| 5 Double Chocolate (Clear) (TPA)| 1.5| Strawberry (Shisha)| 2.5 | Meringue (FA)| .25| Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (TPA)| 5| Vanilla Swirl (TPA)| 1| Vienna Cream (FA)| 1|
##Notes When vaped, I generally get a banana on the top, and throughout exhale the chocolate and strawberry comes through towards the end. It's like a bittersweet chocolate where you can taste the sweetness of the strawberry, not so much the strawberry all the time, sometimes they fight for a spot where you'll taste one more than the other, but to me it tastes just like you grabbed a spoonful of every bit of the banana split and shoved it into your mouth. With the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, I decided on 5% because I can't get enough of this stuff, and I feel like it needs to be a main note. ##The Banana I chose Banana Cream, simply because it was one of 2 banana's I had, but also I love that creamy feeling you get with it. It has sort of a banana runts flavor to it, but in this mix it tastes right. Probably could use a combination of bananas to get more of a realistic banana taste, but I don't really think it's too necessary.
##Neapolitan Ice Cream This part is probably the trickiest, trying to balance all of the ice creams together so that one doesn't overpower the other. Double Chocolate is a fairly strong flavor, and definitely stands out, but as previously stated before, they sort of fight for a spot on your tongue where sometimes the strawberry comes through stronger, and sometimes the chocolate. Vanilla Bean Ice Cream is so delicious, it's the obvious choice for this, along with Shisha Strawberry because lately I've been obsessed with it. The Vanilla Swirl doesn't come through much, I've been thinking about upping it a bit, but I feel like it's in a good place in my mix. There's already the VBIC, so with the added Vanilla I feel like it's sufficient. If you prefer one ice cream over the other, I'm sure you could mess with the % of them to get your desired flavor, maybe 3.5% Strawberry, 1% Double Chocolate, 4% Vanilla, that kind of thing. My initial mix had a little too much chocolate in it, which I didn't really mind but I wanted to get them on an even level, and I think I've achieved that pretty well. I added Vienna Cream because it backs up the VBIC extremely well, and adds some more creaminess to it all. The Meringue just adds a bit of sweetness to it, I basically use this with all the flavors that I want to have a sugary note in.
I urge people to play around with this, it probably needs 3-7 days steep for it to reach its full potential, but I haven't even waited that long. I may end up updating this post in a few days if it has significantly changed, but I don't really see it happening. The strawberry is probably interchangeable, I haven't tried it with any other, but I feel like it's perfect with Shisha. I would love to see what people do with this recipe, adding, changing, or tweaking, I feel like this recipe could be played around with a lot.
I'm definitely going to try this, but use FW Cookies and Cream as like an Oreo topping instead of a chocolate drizzle or ice cream because I have 0 actual chocolate flavors :(
That sounds pretty delicious actually, chocolate is a tricky flavor to nail, I think TPA did a pretty good job with theirs, it tastes sort of like a tootsie roll, though in this recipe I feel like it tastes like legit chocolate ice cream, but I'm sure cookies and cream will be delicious as well.
Going to give it a shot and maybe a second version with some INW Peanuts. Thanks for sharing!
EDIT:Typo
Let me know how it is with the peanuts! I would think you would just need like a drop or 2, I know most of INW's stuff is super potent, I haven't gotten many of their flavors but I haven't been disappointed by any of them. I think they are in a close tie with FA for my preferred manufacturer.
I want to apologize because I personally hate it when people do this... but I was making your recipe and I had all my flavorings out and I forced some last minute adjustments.
Rather than use vienna cream i used CAP vanilla whipped cream and bumped it to 1.5% also bumped meringue up to .5% and added .5% peanuts. Also, used INW Strawberry instead of Shisha as it tastes exactly like strawberry syrup (to me). End result is pretty fantastic right out of the gate. I'm still going to make yours to recipe, I have no excuse but instinct here and will report back but here's my variation if you wanna give it a go. Thanks for posting been wanting a flavor profile like this for a bit, just been lazy!
EDIT: Recipe is for 30mL with 3mg nic 100base nic
I don't mind it at all! If I had those flavors I would use them too. I personally love meringue, and I definitely might bump it up to make it sweeter, but I felt like trying to keep the % low and add just a touch of sweetness. The Vanilla whipped cream seems interesting, probably adds a lot more body to the vanilla, I don't have it but it sounds delicious. How was the peanuts with it? I thought about adding a graham cracker or something to have more of a meaty juice, but I decided to just go simple with it.
Have all these except LA Banana Cream :/ Recipe looks great though. I might give it a shot with TPA DX Banana Cream, but probably wouldn't be the same.
The banana really isn't the biggest part, LA gives a really, airy light mouthfeel with it's cream, not sure about TPA's BC but you could always add some fresh cream to it if it's lacking that cream, they feel pretty similar. Does TPA taste more like real banana or candy like runts?
I've never tried TPA Banana Cream, only have the DX version so I don't know if there is a huge difference. But what I can say is that it is more of a creamy banana candy than a realistic banana, which I like.
I also have TPA Banana, which is "authentic" but really ripe and strong on the ethyl alcohol IMO, still haven't figured out how to use it properly. In addition to that I have FA's Banana but still haven't tried that one.
Whipped up a tester but with a few alternate flavors subbed in and it turned out great. Thanks for the idea. Here is my subbed flavor recipe.
