Hey guys, I'm checking out a DIY kit as I'd like to start making my own juice in the near future to save some money on juice. I saw the starter kit on Liquid barn for ~1400 mls of juice making for $63 and a total of 10 flavors. I was wondering if this was a good deal and something safe in terms for flavor mixing and nicotine quality.
Whats the difference between PG and VG base for the nic?
I don't really have any other specific questions. Reading the reviews it seems like it's mostly self explanatory. What would be safe flavor combinations I should be looking for?

There are no great kits. Assemble your flavors by researching recipes online, looking for well reviewed and discussed recipes, and build from there.

however, after buying a kit, I realized how easy this would have been to buy myself. 3-4 different websites (PG,VG, syringes and bottles can be found on amazon, flavors on another, and nicotine on a third). Trust me, if you are going to be vaping for more than a month, you won't ever want to pay the cost of pre-made store juice after you learn how easy this is. The 150mL amounts of liquids they started me with only lasted a month. The only benefit was that it was all on 1 purchase instead of 3-4.

propylene glycol, 500-1000mL (amounts are flexible, if you aren't sure you will be doing this for 6 months, you can go lower. 1000mL of each lasts me about 4-5 months)

Vegetable Glycerine, 750-1250mL (slightly more VG than PG, since most people prefer a higher VG ratio, and your flavors/nicotine will have mostly PG)

TFA flavors, or whatever flavors you want. See list of flavor vendors on sidebar. (after 1 year I am still using only 1-3 flavors per recipe, don't think I'll be getting into those 6+ flavor recipes soon)

Squeeze bottles, I recommend 30mL, it's a good medium size. but when mixing my large 200mL batches I use canning jars. mix by weight method needs a wide mouth jar/bottle, since you can't pour into these bottles i linked.

I've always mixed by weight and always into 30ml bottles as shown there. Hell, for the longest time I poured VG from a one gallon Essentials Depot jug straight into the bottle on the scale, finished the last ~1.x gram by pipette. It's unpleasant, but 100% doable. Pipettes or a cheap condiment bottle are absolutely the way to go, juice bottle size doesn't matter.
Get these bottles next time. 30 cents a bottle is way better than paying 64 cents.
Gremlin has ready to mix flavors that are good. It's an easy way to go without researching and testing recipes and a way to put off the purchase of scales.
I have the LiquidBarn kit and its pretty nice actually. Make sure you pick flavors you can mix with each othwr, not just random ones.
I'm still using all the stuff it came with, I'm probably going to order some more nicotine from them because they have pretty good prices, but I may end up getting my flavors from somewhere with a wider selection.
