Adding Real Flavors to newbie guide
submitted over 9 years ago by mikarm

I've been getting more into this company lately and it just struck me today how easy their flavors are. Everything I've tried so far has been recommended at 6-9% by Real Flavors and you know what, they are right. Taste is subjective but everything I've tried was the flavor it said, and pretty good too. Not only that but quite a few of their flavors are easy single flavor recipes like Strawberry Milkshake, Cherry Limeade, Boston Cream Pie, etc.

I'm sure everyone remembers how confusing it was when first starting to mix. So many different flavors to pick from and you're buying several to try and mix them together to make something decent. You have no clue at first. Real Flavors seems like it could be a great starting point because of how many all in one flavors they have, plus all of them being used around the same percentage takes a lot of guess work out of making your first few juices.

Just a thought I had that could help people on the fence get into DIY in a simpler way. If they want to try a Strawberry Milkshake they don't have to buy 8 different creams and strawberries to get a good taste, just this to start out.

Here's a link to their site for those that don't know about them. https://www.realflavors.com/

Mixing at 6% to 9% is higher than many other flavor mixing percentages , if it was mix at 2-3% i think many would find that more appealing .

How good is the Strawberry Milkshake flavor , is it superior to a Strawberry Cream flavor?

That's the point though, most TFA and FW flavors, usually used by newbies, are used in higher percentages and are more forgiving.

I like these for newbies because they are all at 6-9% and taste like they should. With tfa or even capella they have some flavors you use at low percentages and some you have to use more of. RF seem to be formulated all for the same percentage.

I have most all of their flavors and I have tried them at 10 % and lower, they really lack in flavor. I have went as high as 30 % with the pineapple upside cake to no avail. I know taste is subjective but I'm not a huge fan.

I'm not a fan of most strawberry creams like Unicorn Milk. I do like their Strawberry Milkshake though. I only tried it as a shake n vape so far this morning and they are VG flavorings. Currently vaping their Monster flavor at 9% and it's very good.

RF flavors are VG based, & as a general rule of thumb, VG can only carry up to half the molecules of PG based formulas. Therefore vg flavours will always be less potent, but hey no pg.

I have zero issues with PG , so not thrilled about all VG flavors.

I can see what you mean, I also have no issues with PG. All my juices are made 70/30. When I have used these to mix with other flavors I'll do one RF flavor as the main thing and the rest are tfa, cap, fa, etc.

That's the one major non-newbie thing about them, people would have to be sure they marked and measured the flavors as VG.

they are diluted in vg and hold less avcs per kg as opposed to pg or ethyl alcohol

I support this motion. I need to invest in some of their flavors, as I don't have experience with any of them. While I love many of the complex recipes, I do get tired of mixing 6 to 12 concentrates together.

I started off with their Cookies and Cream which is an excellent dry Oreo taste. I ordered Cheesecake, Blue Raz, Boston Cream Pie, Green Energy, Strawberry Milkshake and a few others. Everything I've tried so far has been pretty good. Plus if you're into higher VG or no PG it can easily be done with these flavors.

Have you made a 100% VG recipe yet? I'm curious as to what the vape experience is like compared to a 70/30 or 50/50. I've never had a juice with 0pg and I'm kinda interested in RF just to try it out.

I have not yet. I used to go for the highest VG I could but I found I really like 70/30(and it's good in the winter too) so that's what I stick with now.

The best person to ask about that might be abdada since I think he prefers or is PG free.

I have. It's just slightly too thick for anything other than a dripper. Obviously right? The odd thing is, their flavors are VG based, but they are not as thick as pure VG. So while I consider them VG when mixing as far as ratio goes, it's not going to be truly accurate. A 90/10 blend pulls through a griffin like a champ though.

im agreeing with this 100% i refuse to use fw after learning whats in there [even if its not all i refused] and im a HUGE sucker for blood orange. and citrus in general. sooo spot on.. like insanely i almost vaped through my BO concentrate in a few weeks.. partly because the 10% requirement but also because 15ml only goes so far at 10%+ [and i admittedly had a rf blood orange at 20% in one 10ml mix..drools thinking about it] ;D i now finding myself needing a 60ml conc or more lol

all the rf ones i bought are so good. and sure its needed to be a higher percentage becase it is pg based.. but these are some of the more accurate flavors iv ever tasted but i think others are right the reason its not over there is kinda like "here this flavoring that takes 1-5% per recipe or you can get this one for the same size and price but needs 8%+ to make it shine in the limelight" most are gona go the cheap route and say screw the flavor they can recreate it..

I'm vaping their Boston Cream Pie today and it's great, tastes exactly how it should. RF has a lot of amazing standalone flavors.

oh yea i have blood orange , cherry and orange iv tried of my stash. so much so i hadnt tried my cinnimon toast nor my pineapple upside as standalones .tho had pineapple upside down cake in a rum cake recipe and was pretty spot on for what i imagined the Jamaican rum and 'cake' would taste like lol

im def going to buy tons more rf but im NOt making the same mistake of doing 15ml. 30+ all the way lmao
