I have been working on perfecting this recipe for the past year atleast, and I have gotten to the point where i am using the least flavoring possible to still get the best vape. This recipe also work great as a base to throw other fruits flavors into ( I havent done much experimentation with creams, they arent really my thing).
BlackJack, Max VG:
4% TFA Black Currant
3% TFA Jackfruit
1% TFA Pineapple
1% TFA Dragonfruit
At 9% total flavoring this recipe isnt overpowering and is pretty easy on coils. All my testing is done on my daily carry mod, with a Sapor RDA running at 48 watts on a .38 ohm dual clapton build. I mostly work with TFA flavors, and Juicy Peach at 3-4% or Blackberry at 1-2% go great with his recipe as well. When adding other fruits to this mix I usually drop the black currant to 3% and the Jackfruit to 2%. So far the base BlackJack recipe has suited my taste buds the best. I have been vaping this recipe almost exclusively for the past month or so and experience very little vapers tongue.
I would love to hear any feedback on this recipe, as well as any ideas anyone may have to improve or change the recipe.
I'd suggest dropping the pineapple entirely, while increasing the dragonfruit to 2 or 3%. They contain a lot of the same volatiles, but dragonfruit is a better formulation of the flavors.
I'd also suggest trying some other manufacturers in this recipe, they may bring some added value in the final mix.
I am mixing a bottle with no pineapple now, thank you for the suggestion! I like the idea of diversifying the flavor manufacturers as well, but this mix perfectly satisfies my needs, is insanely cheap, and all the flavorings in the recipe are easily accessible.
I haven't tried TFA Black Currant so I don't have much to offer, but I would suggest that on occasions when you add TFA Blackberry to it, try 0.5% instead of 1 to 2%. Half a percent usually gets plenty of blackberry taste without the overpowering floral perfume that flavor can have.
Per /u/skiddlzninja suggestion, I mixed a tester at 2% and 3% Dragonfruit and with close to 5 minutes steeping I am more of a fan of the 3%. Although I feel The mix lost some of the "pop" it had with the pineapple. The mix just feels a little flat. I will be doing more side by side testing with the original recipe and report back
TFA Pineapple is just a huge bully when it comes to other flavors, if you still want to keep it in so it pops, i'd say try 0.50%
Edit : Actually now that I think of it, I might try this with CAP Golden Pineapple, that stuff is delicious.
This recipe inspired me to try to find a use for both Dragonfruit and Jackfruit as I have both but never use them. So Im trying out the following
Black Dragon v1
TFA Blackberry 1%
TFA Pear 1%
TFA Jackfruit 2%
TFA Dragonfruit 3%
80vg/20pg, 3mg using 100mg/ml 100% VG nic vaping at 75 watts on dual fused claptons
TFA Blackberry gives it a nice sweetness and berry taste. TFA Pear I always use with TFA Blackberry as it really helps not to only blend all the fruits together but it helps enhance the TFA Blackberry. I noticed in ingrediant listings for anything with Blackberry or Mixed Berry that Pear concentrate is almost always present so I decided to try that out with mixing and I like what it does. The initial note is clear TFA Blackberry because of just how strong it is. Right after that underneath it is the TFA Jackfruit and then the TFA Dragonfruit. Its really quick which I actually like. Since the last note I taste is TFA Dragonfruit, that pretty much takes over the exhale. Of course Ill keep playing with this but thanks for posting this recipe and inspiring me to work with TFA Jackfruit and TFA Dragonfruit
