So I am using only about 5% and it's clouding the shit out of my juice, any substitutes?
It uses triacetin as a solvent (probably around 95% triacetin total) which will usually cloud up concentrates. Triacetin doesn't homogenize well with glycerin.
Edit I'd consider FLV Bing Cherry for that cherry note. At 2% or so it has a maraschino cherry flavor, pairs really well with maltols and vanillins. Even can go as low as 0.75% or 1% in some mixes.
I had this flavor in my arsenal. Mine got cloudy too. FYI, FW Cola will do the same thing.
Idk if I got a bad batch or something but mine was horrible! Tried at 1-2-4-6% all tasted very chemical, burnt sugar and a wicked throat hit. It's a shame really, because its smells oh so nice. But the taste is not like the smell, at least not mine :(
You mean it's just making your juice look cloudy? There's nothing wrong with that. I've never tried FW Maraschino Cherry but I've noticed that with citrus flavors and dragonfruit. If mean your juice tastes "cloudy" (muddled?), it think it depends on what you're mixing it with, but /u/ajsam3 has been using TFA Swedish Gummy to bring a maraschino cherry note to a pineapple upside-down cake recipe.
I am making juice for a company and they don't like the fact that the recipe is cloudy. I tried telling them about the fact that it's 70% VG will do that, just like /u/abdada said.
Check it Real Flavors Cherry Pie. It's the best cherry flavoring I've used and it doesn't cloud up. Also have you let the current recipe age for 2-3 weeks? I've found that cloudiness goes away at the stage, although it may vary depending on what caused the cloudiness to begin with.
