Where is all the grape?

From searching around a bit, it seems like no one really likes to play with grape or just gives up on their grape mixes. I understand it is a tough flavor to play with. Anyone have decent recipes for really anything with a main profile of grape?

I always liked Velvet Cloud's Catherine the Grape. This recipe is pretty close. Mellow, tart, and a bit sweet.

I've been playing around with Grape Candy (TFA), which is essentially a very potent purple Jolly Rancher. Not that great overall, but could have it's use I think.

I like Grape (INW) quite a bit now and am putting it in different berry mixes and custard blends. Very tasty stuff.

This stuff initially excited me because it has a very natural fleshy grape taste, but now anytime I mix it, it just tastes like medicine. And now I can't put Black Currant or Concord Grape in any recipe without it ruining it and tasting like fleshy bitter medicine.

I recently got a sample of FLV Grape and been messing around with it in different mixes. I don't really like it standalone; it's bit artificial and medicinal to my palate. But I've been loving it in mixes. I used it in a PB&J recipe but only at .75% to add some jamminess to the raspberry part of the mix. I also paired it with Fuji and banana at a low %. I tried it as the main note in a menthol juice, and it worked out pretty well. Just, again, a little medicinal to my taste after vaping it for a while. I haven't been able to find a grape that doesn't border on grape soda and jolly rancher.

I was really hoping FLV Grape to be a Grape Drank type flavor, but was kinda disappointed. It is good, like you said, in specific mixes though.

FA Grape (Concord) is one I would like to pick up and try...I've had TBD Liquids Concord Grape juice, and HIC's description of FA Concord Grape flavor seemed to describe the flavor of TBD's juice so I plan to put that on my next order.

Most grape flavors vape like cat urine. Seriously. Capella's is probably the worst.

I've been playing around with FLV but it's more of a candy type grape.

I don't get candy at all from FLV grape. I get more of a grape Kool-Aid from it. Ive been trying to make a Pitch Black(grape mtn dew), but I feel like FLV grape isn't candy enough.

Kind of like some honey's out there, I was worried about the aforementioned cat urine when vaped. So that candy grape note was a safezone. Something familiar like /u/shrine399 mentions = candy grape.

CAP Grape is tough but, I think I made it work with Rainbow drops. I'd let it steep overnight, YMMV though.

It's a skittles like flavor. It has some harshness to it, but it counteracts with the cough medicine taste that you get from the grape and after a brief (overnight) steep it seems to blend together well.

I mixed it with A white peach (can't remember by who as I'm using my friends mixing set up), INW eucalyptus with mint, and Cap blue raspberry cotton candy. I know I used the Grapeberry ice at about 4-5% but felt I could definitely push it up. It's very cool though (wasn't expecting it to be as cool as it is), letting it sit for a day calms it down though.

So im not the only one! Grape has been my adv for years now, but so far ive only had 2 good ones. MBV has the best grape ive tried yet, but im still new to diy, its crazy how different flavors can be from different suppliers.

While were on the subject though ive been looking for months now on a clone for purple belly dancer by Lush but no luck, Best grape candy vape ive ever had.

This is what got me hooked on trying to reproduce it. I've noticed that it has a purple hue to it and it seems like the Grape Soda is the main profile.

Yeah the juice is kind of yellow but has an iridescent purple in certain light. It's a really cool looking liquid. Seen that purple effect in a few grape concentrates too but can't remember which ones.

I've had to pair it around 2/1 with strawberry to fill out the grapeness. Lemon juice also kicks it up.
