need little help to add "wetness" on exhale
submitted over 9 years ago by materoxxx

Hello everybody. Today I decided to start experiment with some flavors that I bought a while ago, I'm trying to make a fruit cool mix to change a little from my ADV, which are mostly creams, cookies and similar. So I picked up 2 flavors thta I've never used and I came up with this :

Apricot TPA 7%

Horchata smooth TPA 5%

Strawberry INW 2%

Citric acid 0.5%

and I have to say that I enjoy the overall flavor profile, and I really liek the sensation I get on the inhale, intense fresh fruit mix, What I don't like, and thta is why I'm asking you for advice, is the exhale. On the exhale I don't get anything, it feels a bit too dry and i would like it to be more wet. Not necessarily like a Koolada effect, neither sucralose. Just something that could make it more pleasant on the exhale. Should I increase the strawberry maybe? Or lower the horchata?i like the flavor of the Horchata but I might be too spicy after you vape it for a while.I thought about adding like 1-2% of INW Catus, which I love, but the risk might be that Aloe Vera that kind of mutes evrything else. Thank you very much, any suggestion would be great

Was going to mention the Kaktus, but seems you've already thought of that. The Kaktus is strong and would probably alter the general flavor profile, even at a small amount.

I sometimes use Double Apple Cap to add juiciness. Fuji FA gives me a dryness, so I am assuming that not all apples have the juice-factor.

Double Apple Cap's flavor is also not very forward, so I don't think it will mess with your mix too much.

If anyone else has ideas for juiciness, I'm also interested!

thank you for your suggestions. I might try the kaktus in a very small % to see what happens. I'm not a great fan of apples or pears in general but I might give it a try, I have a ton of Pear and pear candy TPA and also some Fuji (wich I think i'm the only one in this subreddit that doesn't love it)..

I also am not a huge fan of Fuji... I think it is a bit too tart/bitter for me... I guess I have more an affinity to the Red Delicious apple flavor.

I just looked at your recipe again and I'm wondering if you have thought about subbing your citric acid out for something else? I'm not super-experienced with CA, but from what I've read other people saying, it tends to mute a mix after time. This is why even Fizzmustard in his Bombie's Nana Cream Clone actually redacted the CA from his recipe...

Anyways, too long-winded, sorry. I'd recommend subbing the CA with Lemon Sicily at about 1%. Will add the sourness you are probably looking for without affecting the flavor.

you are 100% right. I didn't even think about this. I wanted to add sourness to the mix so my first thought was citric acid but that comes also with the coil destroying problem. Lemon sicily might do the trick. One question, do you know if TFA Sour is similar to citric acid?

on a side note, I was a huge fan of nana cream and i've vaped at least 200ml of it. now even after months I didn't vape it , It just taste bad to me, there is something in it that trows me off completely now about that recipe. It's weird how my taste changed so much, I used to love it

I'll repost my comment

I've heard .5% of cucumber helps, I don't remember which cucumber but hopefully someone else can help. It was in a watermelon Crack clone posted here this weekend. It was CAP cucumber

Maybe try some Marshmallow?

I'm still a rookie around here, but I add it to several mixes because pretty much everyone says it adds that mouthfeel you seem to describe.

I find marshmallow to give a fluffy mouthfeel

I find marshmallow does affect the mouthfeel, but more in giving "thickness" to a vape, rather than "moistness", which is what OP is wondering about.

Marshmallow is great in bakery/dessert mixes.

that was exactly what I was thinking about, I see it been used in more bakery type of vapes mostly. I'll give it a try anyway

This could be a good idea, but it might mute the fruits too much...

0.25-0.5% CAP Cucumber. It also adds a nice freshness to the juice.

INW Cactus is also described as adding "wetness" to a juice, though I have not personally used it yet.

Just might have to find what works best for you. I'm not aware of a flavor that will add a purely neutral wet mouth feel.

thank you for your input. I'll do different batches with variations so I can try it. I'm not looking for a completely neutral addition necessarily just something that won't alter too much the main profile.

it's a great hobby and the more I mix the more I like it, I've made so many unvapable juice you can't imagine...

That horchata smooth is super dry man, I haven't been able to use it successfully without it just being way too dry. TBH there are some great cinnamons and creams out there, prob better off trying to make your own horchata.

maybe this is the reason then, I only have this one available so I decided to try. I'll order FW for sure

Cactus does the job, but you want to look at percentages like 0.2-0.3% instead of 1-2%. For cactus, 1-2% gives you more of a main note. Also, that Apricot may be a bit high. I would start by cutting it in half.

As has been said, Cactus at <.5% is a good start. Maybe begin with one drop per 15ml. (literal drop)

I've read using ethyl maltol in low amounts can add a bit of wetness without adding sweetness (like around the 1% range).

I recommend picking up FW Horchata. Really smooth and milky. And personally, for Horchata, i don't think you get more of wetness. It's more of a milky smoothness. Try MTS Vape Wizard by FA.

once i tried cloning a juice called Unicorn Porn by juice man. It's described as a strawberry horchata with a hint of cinnamon.this stuff is just awesome. This is what i came up with *http://tjek.nu/r/3BM2 It has been a while ago since i vaped this but i remember going through 100ml in no time because i was really enjoying this. Would be cool to hear your thoughts on that one

Hmm, I think I know what you mean. The only think I can think of is using juicy flavors. Possibly drop the apricot to 5 and add 2% mango, maybe more. IMO Apricot TFA is a very earthy and "dry". You should find the post about using the 3 different flavor notes types to get a perfect mix of notes.

I love the looks of your recipe and like you I search for a new adv all the time. A flavor that i use led lately that I feel adds what your looking for is dragonfruit. I only have tpa and Capella DF and so far I've been preferring capellas version of it. At .5 - 1% it seems to really give the strawberry a juicy taste. That's my 2 cents

first of alla thank you for all your help, I finally found a version that satisfy me and I'm happy with, here it is:

APRICHATA

Apricot (TPA) -4.5%

Horchata Smoot (TPA) -4.5%

Strawberry ripe (TPA) - 3%

Strawberry (INW) - 1%

lemon sicily (FA) - 1%

Cactus (INW) -1%

Dragonfruit (TPA) -1%

optional, Sweetener 0.5-1% Let me know what you think

If you're looking for "wetness", do 2% (PH) Lisa Anna
