I've been DIY for a while and doing a lurking but thought I'd share a flavor to see what type of response I get. Looking at the sweetness of the recipes posted makes me doubly curious because this falls a little out that wheel house so here goes...
Chocolate Deutsch (Flavorah) .1
Coffee (Flavorah) .25
Cream (Flavorah) .05
Cured Tobacco (Flavorah) 2.5
Rich Cinnamon (Flavorah) .1
Notes On This Recipe:
Sweet at the beginning of a draw followed by a mild chocolate residue, It has a nice body, a good throat hit and a better than average mouth feel.
A friend described this recipe is as a wet cigar. Upon further reflection, it was a pretty accurate description. Don't let that fool you though part of what gives that impression are the combination of chocolate undertones and mild tobacco both of which helps to makes this a pleasant all day vape without the negative characteristics of many tobacco flavors and recipes out there. If a flavor can be both rich and mild at the same time this is it.
Its been suggested that I bump up the flavor ratio and while I can see the advantage I think that would ruin it.
This is one of those flavors that needs to be seeped a couple days to fully enjoy. The cinnamon comes across strong right after mixing and the tobacco smooths out after a couple days and mixes well with the chocolate and coffee.
Notes On Recipes I Share and Why I Share Them:
I'm selective about what recipes I share for a few reasons.
The first is that I think they're different enough from what else is out there for people appreciate their uniqueness. The second is that they've been refined enough to be enjoyed so having the opportunity to try them IMO is worth the time, energy and components that went into making. This is especially if like me you want a better tobacco blend. Finally, I'm also hoping to get feedback and suggestions that will help me on my quest for the perfect tobacco.

I just read some reviews of that and I think I'm going to have to order me a bottle.

Laphroaig undertones was part of what I had in mind going down this rod.

I've been really liking Colorado Cat as a mild tobacco ADV using FLV Cured, sounds like it could be right up your alley too if you've not already tried it.
Not a big menthol fan but I have a friend who I mix juice for who is. However, Peppermint, Coconut and Tobacco - three of my favorite flavors and I have them at hand so I'll mix a batch tonight and speed steep some of it for a tank and let the rest sit for my buddy. I'll let you know what I think.
Your post got me to try a recipe I mixed a for that same friend that's been steeping since last week, it was the first time I'd tried FLVs Creme de Menthe.
Definitely menthol and while I thought it was good still not a huge menthol fan. I ended up mixing it at the tank with some tobacco base 2 and WOW! thinking I'm on to something. Menthol edge went away completely, it smoothed out all of the notes that have been plaguing me - it's like smoking a cigarette while eating creme brulee and drinking coffee - needs a higher flavor ratio though. Everyone talks about FLVs Vanilla Custard and while I haven't tried anyone else's to compare it to the mix I just made I think it has some serious potential in other recipes at the right ratio.

Your Banside Bearch looks like something he might like but what do you recommend for someone who loves cotton candy menthol that I can steer them towards that they might love instead. I want to keep from having to roll down my windows when they vape in my car.

I don't have FLV Coffee for these either, I use FA Dark Bean Espresso which usually works out with a bit of tweaking the strength it's damn strong and easy to overdo it.
Pretty sure those two recipes were using the older weaker version of FLV Coconut, I have the newer stronger one and dropped it to 0.2 in the Colorado, the other recipe may need that too, even 0.1 may be enough.
Your menthol base, interesting, looks like whole lotta coffee, I'd be wanting to bring up the creams a lot more. Giving me some ideas to play around with though I haven't done anything much with FLV creme de menthe for a whole.

Some time around 2011-2012, Madvapes had a limited-run liquid that nailed 50/50 pipe tobacco. I can't remember the name, and wouldn't know where to begin recreating it. Do you happen to know anything about it, or know something similar?
Edit: why downvotes for asking this? Is it Madvapes hate or tobacco flavor hate?
I started vaping at the end of 2012 so I'm not familiar with it but I'll have to ask around.
I don't know why but I can't seem to get into vaping sweet flavors for more than a few minutes at a time before they become too much, that and my dissatisfaction of the Tobacco flavors I've tried and the things they lack from the actual smoking experience is what led me to DIY.
I'm trying to create more of what I enjoyed about analogues (throat hit, mouth feel, tongue tingle) and then improve on the taste or have a base where I can mix in other subtle flavors from when I want to mix it up a little.
Basically, I'm trying to come up with something that not only replaces the the smoking experience in its entirety but that is more enjoyable.
Kind of sounds like you want whole tobacco alkaloid base liquid. I haven't tried it myself.
Problem is that Tobacco tastes like sh!t on its own. I'm trying to create the experience of smoking while also having it taste better and not kill me.
The reason I posted this recipe is that I think I'm finally starting to make some headway and was hoping a few other people would try it and give me feedback.
