I didn't see anything in the rules/sidebar as far as an update post, I'll be happy to delete this if it's an issue -- if so I apologize.
That being said..I took some of the feedback from my first thread and went through some UI overhaul. I've included some new screenshots of the app and am looking to solicit some new feedback. I've tried to make the UI a bit less excel-ish and more functional, as well as using PopOver windows for a lot of things to make it nice and pretty. Thoughts?

For those interested in doing beta work for me, I'm still pushing to have an alpha/early beta available early-mid next week. Once I have that I'll reach out with a download and ask for additional feedback.

Sweet, dude! Looks clean and simple. Looking forward to download the beta when it's ready. Just a couple of thoughts from the screenshots:
- It would be great on the Recipe section (bottom of the screen) to have a colored background for each line. Maybe just alternating white, then gray, but it would also be nice to be able to select the color of the line's background based on a user-definable setting for the ingredient itself. Reason being: when mixing, looking at the recipe, then at the mixing desk, then back at the recipe, can sometimes make finding your place in the recipe a bit tedious. Coloring the lines may make it easier to find where you are in the recipe.
- On the left-most pane (I'm assuming these are the actual recipes in the database), could we have "branching" for each recipe? Like if we wanted to create an experimental version of NanaBerry, we could file it under the main NanaBerry recipe name?
- Option to duplicate recipes would be nice to speed up recipe creations based off of already-set recipes
Nice one! Keep us updated, and glad you are really working to make your application better.
recipe duplication is something that's definitely in the mix. Recipe categorization into subviews is something that's also on my list, but the controller for displaying the recipes themselves is a fickle fucking bitch and something I've never had to deal with in the past (I'm a .net developer by trade, this swift/osx stuff is just a hobby now) and I'm still learning the framework. It'll definitely happen but may not be in the release next week, but rest assured it's on the list of things that are necessary.
The recipe listing is actually already alternating, I considered doing colors for specific types similar to how ELR does recipes, but I haven't decided yet. If I do it, it'll be an option -- I feel like it goes against the feel of most mac apps to have colors flying everywhere.
see here for the alternating I'm referring to:

Word, your application is sounding like it will eventually become a viable alternative to ELR. I love ELR and it is my main recipe repository, but I've lost recipes and edits due to weird server glitches and even couldn't make juice because of some server downtime. I would absolutely use your app over ELR, if the recipe import option is available, as well as a database of flavors with specific weights.
In terms of the alternating colors in the recipe list: oops, my bad. My main monitor is a Mitsubishi LCD and it inherently has trouble displaying the gray that is in your table (the gray just looks white). I moved your screenshot to my Macbook's retina display and it looks good. Having a user-definable option for color would be great, although I do understand that you want to adhere to the Mac design ethos as much as possible.
